Graphene oxides(GOs) were synthesized via modified Hummers method, and were applied as adsorbents to remove radionuclides from large volumes of aqueous solutions. The single and competitive sorption of four radionuclides(i.e., U(VI), 152+154Eu(III), 85+89Sr(II) and 134Cs(I)) on the GOs from aqueous solutions were investigated as a function of p H, ionic strength and radionuclide initial concentrations using batch technique. The results showed that the GOs had much higher sorption capacity than many other contemporary materials, for the preconcentration of radionuclides from large volumes of aqueous solutions. The sorption of radionuclides on GOs obeyed the Langmuir model, and was mainly attributed to surface complexation via the coordination of radionuclides with the oxygen-containing functional groups on GO surfaces. The competitive sorption results indicated that the selectivity sorption capacities were U(VI)>Eu(III)>Sr(II)>Cs(I). The GOs are suitable materials for the efficient removal and preconcentration of radionuclides from aqueous solutions in nuclear waste management and environmental pollution cleanup.

Radiofrequency ablation(RFA) has been widely used for the treatment of various solid organ malignancies. Over the last decade,endosonographers have gradually shifted the application of RFA from porcine models to humans to treat a spectrum of diseases. RFA is performed in patients with pancreatic carcinoma who are not candidates for surgery. In this paper,we will discuss various indications for RFA,its procedural details and complications. At present,endoscopic ultrasound-guided RFA is gradually incorporated into the management of various diseases and opens a new avenue for disease treatment.

We investigate the unique role and mechanisms of industry growth in firms’risk-taking *** find that industry growth is negatively associated with corporate risk-taking,consistent with the prospect theory that a high-growth industry gives firms a superior external environment,which may cause them to refrain from corporate risk-taking as in the saying“thinking of peace when rich.”This correlation is stronger for product market leaders,industries encouraged by industry policies and industries that receive more government *** reduce risk-taking through various corporate policies,including long-term,high-value investments,operational efficiency and cash holdings in response to high industry ***,our results are consistent with industry growth negatively affecting corporate risk-taking.

Summary： The demand for knowledge of productive health and the current status of productive health services provided by relevant governmental institutions were qualitatively and quantitatively studied. The study identified the key factors that influenced the demand for the productive health services and results of the services. It also discussed the effective approaches to control, planning and sustainable development of the reproductive health services for the floating populations.

Roots of Tomorrow's Digital Divide:Documenting Computer Use and Internet Access in China's Elementary Schools Today

This paper explores China＇s digital divide, with a focus on differences in access to computers, learning software, and the Internet at school and at home among different groups of elementary school children in China. The digital divide is examined in four different dimensions：（i） between students in urban public schools and students in rural public schools; （ii） between students in rural public schools and students in private migrant schools; （iii） between migrant students in urban public schools and migrant students in private migrant schools; and （iv） between students in Han-dominated rural areas and students in areas inhabited by ethnic minorities. Using data from a set of large-scale surveys in schools in different parts of the country, we find a wide gap between computer and Internet access of students in rural areas and those in urban public schools. The gap widens further when comparing urban students to students from minority areas. The divide is also large between urban and rural schools when examining the quality of computer instruction and access to learning software. Migration does not appear to eliminate the digital divide, unless migrant families are able to enroll their children in urban public schools. The digital divide in elementary schools may have implications for future employment, education and income inequality in China.

Wheat bran, a principal byproduct of flour milling, stands as an abundant source of dietary fiber, yet its economic potential remains under-exploited in current forage applications. Arabinoxylan(AX), constituting the core of dietary fiber, emerges as a versatile compound with multifaceted functionalities. Its nutritional significance,coupled with its role in cereal food processing, has prompted a surge of studies focusing on the valorization of wheat bran AX. Moreover, the hydrolyzed derivative, arabinoxylan oligosaccharides(AXOS), demonstrates prebiotic and antioxidant properties, offering potential avenues to mitigate the risk of chronic diseases. This review summarizes current knowledge on the valorization of wheat bran AX in terms of the processing and nutritional properties of AX. Moreover, multiple novel applications of AX in the materials area, including biodegradable food packaging films, delivery of bioactive substances as nanoparticles, and the manufacture of food emulsifiers, are also highlighted to extend the utilization of AX. This review underscores the immense potential of wheat bran AX, advocating for its exploitation not only as a nutritional asset but also as a primary ingredient in advanced materials. The synthesis of nutritional and materials perspectives accentuates the multifaceted utility of wheat bran AX, thereby paving the way for sustainable valorization pathways. By unraveling the latent potential within AX, this paper advocates for the holistic and sustainable utilization of wheat bran in diverse, value-added applications.

Development and Influencing Factors of Compliance Behaviors of Investigators in Clinical Trials

The development and influencing factors of compliance behavior of investigators in clinical trials were explored. According to literature review, a hypothetical model of development of compliance behavior of investigators in clinical trials was established, and the influencing factors of compliance behavior of investigators and their interrelationships were studied based on questionnaire survey of five hundred investigators sampled randomly from one hundred clinical trial institutions in China. Cron- bach＇s alpha coefficient and structural equation modeling were adopted to empirically analyze the re- suits. Six variables in the hypothetical model were included： compliance behavior of investigators, credibility of clinical trial, capability of government regulation, quality control of sponsor, quality con- trol of clinical institution and compliance intention of investigators. Empirical analysis showed that the compliance behavior of investigators in clinical trial was directly affected by compliance intention of investigators, quality control of sponsor and quality control of clinical institution. In addition, credibility of clinical trial and capability of government regulation indirectly affected the compliance behavior of investigators in clinical trial through influencing the compliance intention of investigators, quality con- trol of sponsor and quality control of clinical institution. Quality control of sponsor was affected by credibility of clinical trial and capability of government regulation while quality control of clinical in- stitutinn wan only influenced by capability of government regulation.
