Integrating remote sensing and 3-PG model to simulate the biomass and carbon stock of Larix olgensis plantation

Accurate estimations of biomass and its temporal dynamics are crucial for monitoring the carbon cycle in forest ecosystems and assessing forest carbon sequestration *** studies have shown that integrating process-based models(PBMs)with remote sensing data can enhance simulations from stand to regional scales,significantly improving the ability to simulate forest growth and carbon stock ***,the utilization of PBMs for large-scale simulation of larch carbon storage distribution is still *** this study,we applied the parameterized 3-PG(Physiological Principles Predicting Growth)model across the Mengjiagang Forest Farm(MFF)to make broad-scale predictions of the biomass and carbon stocks of Larix olgensis *** model was used to simulate average diameter at breast height(DBH)and total biomass,which were later validated with a wide range of observation data including sample plot data,forest management inventory data,and airborne laser scanning *** results showed that the 3-PG model had relatively high accuracy for predicting both DBH and total biomass at stand and regional scale,with determination coefficients ranging from 0.78 to *** on the estimation of total biomass,we successfully produced a carbon stock map of the Larix olgensis plantation in MFF with a spatial resolution of 20 m,which helps with relevant management *** findings indicate that the integration of 3-PG model and remote sensing data can well predict the biomass and carbon stock at regional and even larger *** addition,this integration facilitates the evaluation of forest carbon sequestration capacity and the development of forest management plans.

Exploring the Feasibility of Winter Wheat Freeze Injury by Integrating Grey system Model with RS and GIS

Winter wheat freeze injury is one of the main agro-meteorological disasters affecting wheat production. In order to evaluate the severity of freeze injury on winter wheat systematically, we proposed a grey-system model （GSM） to monitor the degree and the distribution of the winter wheat freeze injury. The model combines remote sensing （RS） and geographic information system （GIS） technology. It gave examples of wheat freeze injury monitoring applications in Gaocheng and Jinzhou of Hebei Province, China. We carried out a quantitative evaluation method study on the severity of winter wheat freeze injury. First, a grey relational analysis （GRA） was conducted. At the same time, the weights of the stressful factors were determined. Then a wheat freezing injury stress multiple factor spatial matrix was constructed using spatial interpolation technology. Finally, a winter wheat freeze damage evaluation model was established through grey clustering algorithm （GCA）, and classifying the study area into three sub-areas, affected by severe, medium or light disasters. The evaluation model were verified by the Kappa model, the overall accuracy reached 78.82% and the Kappa coefficient was 0.6754. Therefore, through integration of GSM with RS images as well as GIS analysis, quantitative evaluation and study of winter wheat freeze disasters can be conducted objectively and accurately, making the evaluation model more scientific.

Adaptive Backstepping Slide Mode Control of Pneumatic Position Servo system

With the price decreasing of the pneumatic proportional valve and the high performance micro controller, the simple structure and high tracking performance pneumatic servo system demonstrates more application potential in many fields. However, most existing control methods with high tracking performance need to know the model information and to use pressure sensor. This limits the application of the pneumatic servo system. An adaptive backstepping slide mode control method is proposed for pneumatic position servo system. The proposed method designs adaptive slide mode controller using backstepping design technique. The controller parameter adaptive law is derived from Lyapunov analysis to guarantee the stability of the system. A theorem is testified to show that the state of closed-loop system is uniformly bounded, and the closed-loop system is stable. The advantages of the proposed method include that system dynamic model parameters are not required for the controller design, uncertain parameters bounds are not need, and the bulk and expensive pressure sensor is not needed as well. Experimental performance, as compared with some existing methods. results show that the designed controller can achieve better tracking

Transformation from conventional business management systems tosmart digital systems is a recurrent trend in the current era. Immune particle swarm optimization of linear frequency modulation in acoustic communication

With the exploration of the ocean, underwater acoustic communication has attracted more and more attention in recent years. The underwater acoustic channel is considered to be one of the most complicated channels because it suffers from more serious multipath effect, fewer available bandwidths and quite complex noise. Since the signals experience a serious distortion after being transmitted through the underwater acoustic channel, the underwater acoustic communication experiences a high bit error rate （BER）. To solve this problem, carrier waveform inter- displacement （CWlD） modulation is proposed. It has been proved that CWlD modulation is an effective method to decrease BER. The linear frequency modulation （LFM） carrier-waves are used in CWlD modulation. The performance of the communication using CWID modulation is sensitive to the change of the frequency band of LFM carrier-waves. The immune particle swarm optimization （IPSO） is introduced to search for the optimal frequency band of the LFM carrier-waves, due to its excellent performance in solving complicated optimization problems. The multi-objective and multi- peak optimization nature of the IPSO gives a suitable description of the relationship between the upper band and the lower band of the LFM carrier-waves. Simulations verify the improved perfor- mance and effectiveness of the optimization method.

Decomposition for a new kind of imprecise information system

In this paper, we first propose a new kind of imprecise information system, in which there exist conjunctions （∧＇s）, disjunctions （∨＇s） or negations （＇s）. Second, this paper discusses the relation that only contains ∧＇s based on relational database theory, and gives the syntactic and semantic interpretation for A and the definitions of decomposition and composition and so on. Then, we prove that there exists a kind of decomposition such that if a relation satisfies some property then it can be decomposed into a group of classical relations （relations do not contain ∧） that satisfy a set of functional dependencies and the original relation can be synthesized from this group of classical relations. Meanwhile, this paper proves the soundness theorem and the completeness theorem for this decomposition. Consequently, a relation containing ∧＇s can be equivalently transformed into a group of classical relations that satisfy a set of functional dependencies. Finally, we give the definition that a relation containing ∧＇s satisfies a set of functional dependencies. Therefore, we can introduce other classical relational database theories to discuss this kind of relation.

Ob ject Tracking with Dual Field-of-view Switching in Aerial Videos

Visual object tracking plays an important role in intelligent aerial surveillance by unmanned aerial vehicles（UAV）. In ordinary applications, aerial videos are captured by cameras with a fixed-focus lens or a zoom lens, for which the field-of-view（FOV）of the camera is fixed or smoothly changed. In this paper, a special application of the visual tracking in aerial videos captured by the dual FOV camera is introduced, which is different from ordinary applications since the camera quickly switches its FOV during the capturing. Firstly, the tracking process with the dual FOV camera is analyzed, and a conclusion is made that the critical part for the whole process depends on the accurate tracking of the target at the moment of FOV switching. Then, a cascade mean shift tracker is proposed to deal with the target tracking under FOV switching. The tracker utilizes kernels with multiple bandwidths to execute mean shift locating, which is able to deal with the abrupt motion of the target caused by FOV switching. The target is represented by the background weighted histogram to make it well distinguished from the background, and a modification is made to the weight value in the mean shift process to accelerate the convergence of the tracker. Experimental results show that our tracker presents a good performance on both accuracy and efficiency for the tracking. To the best of our knowledge, this paper is the first attempt to apply a visual object tracking method to the situation where the FOV of the camera switches in aerial videos.

A High Energy-Efficient Reconfigurable VLIW Symmetric Cryptographic Processor with Loop Buffer Structure and Chain Processing Mechanism

By exploring symmetric cryptographic data level and instruction-level parallelism, the reconfigurable processor architecture for symmetric ciphers is presented based on Very-long instruction word(VLIW) structure. The application-specific instruction-set system for symmetric ciphers is proposed. As for the same arithmetic operation of symmetric ciphers, eleven kinds of reconfigurable cryptographic arithmetic units are designed by the reconfigurable technology. As to the requirement of high energy-efficient design, the loop buffer structure for instruction fetching unit is proposed to reduce the power consumption significantly with the same frequency as conventional, meanwhile, the chain processing mechanism is proposed to improve the cryptographic throughput without any area overhead. It has been fabricated with 0.18μm CMOS technology. The result shows that the processor can work up to 200 MHz, and the fourteen kinds of cryptographic algorithms were mapped in the processor, the encryption throughput of AES, SNOW2.0 and SHA2 algorithm can achieve 1.19 Gbps, 1.05 Gbps, and 407 Mbps respectively.

With the best trigonometric polynomial approximation as a metric, the rate of approxi- mation of the one-hidden-layer feedforward neural networks to approximate an integrable function is estimated by using a constructive approach in this paper. The obtained result shows that for any 2π-periodic integrable function, a neural networks with sigmoidal hidden neuron can be constructed to approximate the function, and that the rate of approximation do not exceed the double of the best trigonometric polynomial approximation of function.

Deterministic quantum communication using the symmetric W state

This study proposes a new coding function for the symmetric W state. Based on the new coding function, a theoretical protocol of deterministic quanama communication （DQC） is proposed. The sender can use the proposed coding function to encode his/her message, and the receiver can perform the imperfect Bell measurement to obtain the sender＇s message. In comparison to the existing DQC protocols that also use the W class state, the proposed protocol is more efficient and also more practical within today＇s technology. Moreover, the security of this protocol is analyzed to show that any eavesdropper will be detected with a very high probability under both the ideal and the noisy quantum channel.
