Spatiotemporal patterns and drivers of cultivated land conversion in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,northern China

Protection and optimization of cultivated land resources are of great significance to national food *** land conversion in northern China has increased in recent years due to the industrialization and urbanization of ***,the assessment of cultivated land conversion in this area is insufficient,posing a potential risk to cultivated land *** study evaluated the evolution and spatiotemporal patterns of cultivated land conversion in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region,China,and the driving factors to improve rational utilization and to protect cultivated land *** spatiotemporal patterns of cultivated land conversion in Inner Mongolia were analyzed using the cultivated land conversion index,kernel density analysis,a standard deviation ellipse model,and a geographic *** showed that from 2000 to 2020,the trends in cultivated land conversion area and rate in Inner Mongolia exhibited fluctuating growth,with the total area of cultivated land conversion reaching 7307.59 km^(2) at a rate of 6.69%.Spatial distribution of cultivated land conversion was primarily concentrated in the Hetao Plain,Nengjiang Plain,Liaohe Plain,and the Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos urban ***,the standard deviational ellipse of cultivated land conversion in Inner Mongolia exhibited a directional southwest-northeast-southwest-northeast distribution,with the northeast-southwest direction identified as the main driving force of spatial change in cultivated land ***,cultivated land conversion exhibited an increase-decrease-increase change process,indicating that spatial distribution of cultivated land conversion in Inner Mongolia became gradually apparent within the study *** geographic detector results further revealed that the main driving factors of cultivated land conversion in Inner Mongolia were the share of secondary and tertiary industries and per-unit area yield of grain,with explanatory rates of 57.00%,55.0

Analytical Method for the Wave Diffraction of Asymmetrically Arranged Breakwaters

The layout forms of several breakwater structures can be generalized as asymmetrical arrangements in actual engineering. However, the problem of wave diffraction around asymmetrically arranged breakwaters has not been adequately investigated. In this study, we propose an analytical method of wave diffraction for regular waves passing through asymmetrically arranged breakwaters, and we use the Nystr?m method to obtain the analytical solution numerically. We compared the results of this method with those of previous analytical solutions and with numerical results to demonstrate the validity of our approach. We also provided diffraction coefficient diagrams of breakwaters with different layout forms. Moreover, we described the analytical expression for the problem of diffraction through long-wave incident breakwaters and presented an analysis of the relationship between the diffraction coefficients and the widths of breakwater gates. The analytical method presented in this study contributes to the limited literature on the theory of wave diffraction through asymmetrically arranged breakwaters.

Ellagic Acid Enhances Antioxidant System Activity and Maintains the Quality of Strawberry Fruit during Storage

Ellagic acid(EA)is a natural antioxidant,widely present in a lot of forms’soft fruits,nuts,and other plant tissues,and helpful for promoting human health;however,its protective effect on postharvest fruit and improving the quality index of postharvest fruit have rarely been *** this experiment,the strawberries were soaked in 0,100,200,300,400,and 500 mg L^(−1) EA,respectively,and the influential EA on fruit quality and the antioxidant system of strawberries were *** with the control,EA treatment can reduce the browning degree and rotting rate of strawberry fruit during storage and augment the soluble solid content(SSC).EA treatment can also increase the content of related stuff and enzyme activity in antioxidant systems;the gene expression level of polyphenol oxidase(PPO)in strawberries treated with EA was always down-regulated,correspondingly,the expression of other antioxidant enzyme genes was *** the strawberry fruits treated with EA of different concentrations,300 mg L^(−1) EA had the best effect in the process of strawberry *** results suggested that the proper concentration of exogenous EA at 300 mg L−1 could maintain strawberries’quality and enhance the antioxidant system by improving the activities of antioxidative enzymes and the ascorbateglutathione(AsA-GSH)cycle during storage.

Mobile genetic elements facilitate the transmission of antibiotic resistance genes in multidrug-resistant Enterobacteriaceae from duck farms

Multidrug-resistant(MDR)Enterobacteriaceae critically threaten duck farming and public *** phenotypes,genotypes,and associated mobile genetic elements(MGEs)of MDR Enterobacteriaceae isolated from 6 duck farms in Zhejiang Province,China,were investigated.A total of 215 isolates were identified as Escherichia coli(64.65%),Klebsiella pneumoniae(12.09%),Proteus mirabilis(10.23%),Salmonella(8.84%),and Enterobacter cloacae(4.19%).Meanwhile,all isolates were resistant to at least two *** isolates carried tet(A)(85.12%),blaTEM(78.60%)and sul1(67.44%)resistance *** co-occurrence analysis showed that the resistance genes were associated with IS26 and integrons.A conjugative IncFII plasmid pSDM004 containing all the above MGEs was detected in Proteus mirabilis isolate *** isolate was resistant to 18 antibiotics and carried the blaNDM-5 ***,especially plasmids,are the primary antibiotic resistance gene transmission route in duck *** findings provide a theoretical basis for the rational use of antibiotics in farms which are substantial for evaluating public health and food safety.

Simultaneous identification of multiple animal-derived components in meat and meat products by using MNP marker based on high-throughput sequencing

In order to save manpower and time costs， and to achieve simultaneous detection of multiple animal-derived components in meat and meat products， this study used MNP (Multiple Nucleotide Polymorphism) marker technology based on the principle of high-throughput sequencing， and established a multi-locus 10 animal-derived components identification method of cattle， goat， sheep， donkey， horse， chicken， duck， goose， pigeon， quail in meat and meat products. The specific loci of each species could be detected and the species could be accurately identified， including 5 loci for cattle and duck， 3 loci for sheep， 9 loci for chicken and horse， 10 loci for goose and pigeon， 6 loci for quail and 1 locus for donkey and goat， and an adulteration model was established to simulate commercially available samples. The results showed that the method established in this study had high throughput， good repeatability and accuracy， and was able to identify 10 animal-derived components simultaneously with 100% repeatability accuracy. The detection limit was 0.1% (w/w) in simulated samples of chicken， duck and horse. Using the method established in this study to test commercially available samples， four samples from 14 commercially available samples were detected to be inconsistent with the labels， of which two did not contain the target ingredient and two were adulterated with small amounts of other ingredients.

Acanthopagrus latus is an essential aquaculture species on the south coast of ***,there is a lack of systematic breeding of ***,which considerably limits the sustainable development of *** a result,genetic improvements are urgently needed to breed new strains of *** with rapid growth and strong resistance to *** selective breeding,it is necessary to estimate the genetic parameters of the target trait,which in turn depends on an accurate disentangled pedigree for the selective ***,it is necessary to establish the parentage assignment technique for *** this study,95 individuals selected from their parents and their 14 families were used as experimental *** were developed by genome resequencing,and highly polymorphic SNPs were screened on the basis of optimized filtering parameters.A total of 14392738 SNPs were discovered and 205 SNPs were selected for parentage assignment using the CERVUS *** the model where the gender of the parents is known,the assignment success rate is 98.61%for the male parent,97.22%for the female parent,and 95.83%for the parent *** the model where the gender of the parents is unknown,the assignment success rate is 100%for a single parent and 90.28%for the parent *** results of this study were expected to serve as a reference for the breeding of new varieties of ***.

Spectral matching based remote sensing identification of two main crop rotation patterns in a large irrigation district

Abstract:The rapid identification of planting patterns for major crops in a large irrigated district has vital importance for irrigation management,water fee collection,and crop yield *** this study,the OTSU algorithm and Mean-Shift algorithm were employed to automatically determine threshold values for mapping two main rotated crop patterns at the pixel scale.A time series analysis was conducted to extract the spatial distribution of rice-wheat and wheat-maize rotations in the Chuanhang irrigation district from 2016 to *** results demonstrate that both threshold segmentation algorithms are reliable in extracting the spatial distribution of the crops,with an overall accuracy exceeding 80%.Additionally,both Kappa coefficients surpass 0.7,indicating better performance by OTSU *** the period from 2016 to 2020,the area occupied by ricewheat rotation cropping ranged from 12 500 to 14 400 hm2;whereas wheat-maize rotation cropping exhibited smaller and more variable areas ranging from 19730 to 34070 *** findings highlight how remote sensing-based approaches can provide reliable support for rapidly and accurately identifying the spatial distribution of main crop rotation patterns within a large irrigation district.

Dynamic response of buildings under debris flow impact

This study employs the smoothed particle hydrodynamics–finite element method(SPH–FEM) coupling numerical method to investigate the impact of debris flow on reinforced concrete(RC)-frame buildings. The methodology considers the variables of debris flow depth and velocity and introduces the intensity index IDV(IDV = DV) to evaluate three different levels of debris flow impact intensity. The primary focus of this study is to investigate the dynamic response and failure mechanism of RC-frame buildings under debris flow impact, including structural failure patterns, impact force and column displacement. The results show that under a highintensity impact, a gradual collapse process of the RCframe building can be observed, and the damage mode of the frame column reflects shear failure or plastic hinge failure mechanism. First, the longitudinal infill walls are damaged owing to their low out-of-plane flexural capacity;the critical failure intensity index IDV value is approximately 7.5 m2/s. The structure cannot withstand debris flows with an intensity index IDV greater than 16 m2/s, and it is recommended that the peak impact force should not exceed 2100 k N. The impact damage ability of debris flow on buildings mostly originates from the impact force of the frontal debris flow, with the impact force of the debris flow body being approximately 42% lower than that of the debris flow head. Finally, a five-level classification system for evaluating the damage status of buildings is proposed based on the numerical simulation and investigation results of the disaster site.
