The necessity to saline and sodic waters is sometimes used for irrigating agricultural activities under certain circumstances, but it is important to note that the use of these waters comes with specific considerations and limitations. One way to decrease undesirable effects of sodic waters on the physical and chemical properties of soils is to apply organic and chemical amendments within the soil. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of saline water on soil acidity, alkalinity and nutrients leaching in sandy loamy soil at Bella flower farm, in Rwamagana District, Rwanda. The water used was from the Muhazi Lake which is classified as Class I (Saline water quality). Column leaching experiments using treated soils were then conducted under saturated conditions. The soil under experimental was first analyzed for its textural classification, soil properties and is classified as sandy loamy soil. The t-test was taken at 1%, 5% and 10% levels of statistical significance compared to control soil. The results indicated that the application of saline water to soils caused an increase in some soil nutrients like increase of Phosphorus (P), Potassium (K+), Magnesium (Mg2+), Sulphur (S), CN ratio and Sodium (Na+) and decreased soil texture, physical and chemical properties and remained soil nutrients. Consequently, the intensive addition of saline water leachates to soil in PVC pipes led to decreased of soil EC through leaching and a raiser Soluble Sodium Percentage (SSP). The rate of saline water application affected the increase accumulation of SAR and Na% in the top soil layers. The study indicated that saline water is an inefficient amendment for sandy soil with saline water irrigation. The study recommends further studies with similar topic with saline water irrigation, as it accentuated the alkalinity levels.

Virus-like particle(VLP) vaccines had shown great potential during the COVID-19 pandemic, and was thought to be the next generation of antiviral vaccine technology due to viromimetic structures. However,the time-consuming and complicated processes in establishing a current recombinant-protein–based VLP vaccine has limited its quick launch to the out-bursting pandemic. To simplify and optimize VLP vaccine design, we herein report a kind of viromimetic polymer nanoparticle vaccine(VPNVax), with subunit receptor-binding domain(RBD) proteins conjugated to the surface of polyethylene glycol-b-polylactic acid(PEG-b-PLA) nanoparticles for vaccination against SARS-CoV-2. The preparation of VPNVax based on synthetic polymer particle and chemical post-conjugation makes it possible to rapidly replace the antigens and construct matched vaccines at the emergence of different viruses. Using this modular preparation system, we identified that VPNVax with surface protein coverage of 20%–25% had the best immunostimulatory activity, which could keep high levels of specific antibody titers over 5 months and induce virus neutralizing activity when combined with an aluminum adjuvant. Moreover, the polymer nano-vectors could be armed with more immune-adjuvant functions by loading immunostimulant agents or chemical chirality design. This VPNVax platform provides a novel kind of rapidly producing and efficient vaccine against different variants of SARS-CoV-2 as well as other viral pandemics.

Influenza A virus(IAV)continues to pose a pandemic threat to public health,resulting a high mortality rate annually and during pandemic *** modification of viral protein plays a substantial role in regulating IAV ***,based on immunoprecipitation(IP)-based mass spectrometry(MS)and purified virus-coupled MS,a total of 89 phosphorylation sites distributed among 10 encoded viral proteins of IAV were identified,including 60 novel phosphorylation ***,for the first time,we provide evidence that PB2 can also be acetylated at site ***,the PB2 S181 phosphorylation site was consistently identified in both IP-based MS and purified virus-based *** S181 and K187 are exposed on the surface of the PB2 protein and are highly conserved in various IAV strains,suggesting their fundamental importance in the IAV life *** analysis results demonstrated that S181E/A and K187Q/R mimic mutations do not significantly alter the PB2 protein *** continuous phosphorylation mimicked by the PB2 S181E mutation substantially decreases viral fitness in mice,PB2 K187Q mimetic acetylation slightly enhances viral virulence in ***,PB2 S181E substantially impairs viral polymerase activity and viral replication,remarkably dampens protein stability and nuclear accumulation of PB2,and significantly weakens IAV-induced inflammatory ***,our study further enriches the database of phosphorylation and acetylation sites of influenza viral proteins,laying a foundation for subsequent mechanistic ***,the unraveled antiviral effect of PB2 S181E mimetic phosphorylation may provide a new target for the subsequent study of antiviral drugs.

The observation study was conducted in Battambang City,Battambang province,by interviewing the 88 dog owners,who came to the animal pharmacy stores and clinics by using convenience sampling method of nonrandomized *** the results of the interviews,showed that the dog owners were selected in different range of age and gender,however,most of them were in middle age from 21-40 years old,with medium and rich living *** confinement in premise/house was primarily applied by dog *** number of bitches per household was from 1 to 3 batches,and there was no association with the wellbeing of the owners,and the age was from 2 to 4 years old,but some bitches had older *** of the bitches were dewormed in last 3 months and 6 months,however,there were some bitches last more than 6 months after *** bitch vaccination was applied by owner around for 60.00%.There were two popular types of vaccination,Rabies and DHLPP(Distemper,Hepatitis,Leptospirosis,Parvovirus,and Parainfluenza).For dog population management,about 94.29%of the owners apply nonsurgical method with applying *** reasons for using nonsurgical method were not only the cheapest price and easy way,but also there was no information on the consequence of using medication for birth *** medication was highly used before ***,almost half of them got health problem in less than 3 months after administration,also some got long-term *** clinical signs observed,the enlargement of belly was the most evidence,since 54.76%of affected bitches had shown it,then followed by discharge blood from vulvar,clear discharge and thick white pus from vulvar,accounting for 38.10%,35.71%and 26.71%,respectively.

In pig production,the selection of parent stock with high capacity and quality is a very important factor in order to obtain high-yield ***,a“study on the quality of boar semen in Kandal province”was conducted for the purpose of comparing and evaluating the quality of boar semen(VAC:Volume Activity Concentration)between Duroc breeds,Yorkshire breeds and Landrace *** study was carried out according to an observation study by selecting three breeds of boars around 3 years old,including two Duroc,two Yorkshire and two *** boar was observed in three months,three times a month,and the interval was three to four *** study took place in Takhmao City,Kandal Province,*** results showed that the semen volume per ejaculate per head obtained from Yorkshire boar was an average of 250±76.16 mL,which was higher than the semen volume of Landrace with an average of 173.33±59.73 *** the semen volume of Duroc was an average of 149.44±72.70 *** value indicates that the semen volume per ejaculate per head was significantly different(p<0.01).The activity or mobility of spermatozoa in the semen between the three breeds differed with slightly significant difference(p<0.05),with the spermatozoa scored from the Yorkshire being 0.76±0.06,Landrace being 0.79±0.05 and Duroc being 0.83±*** semen concentration showed that the Yorkshire had an average spermatozoa concentration of 568.89×10^(6) sperm cells/mL,and the Landrace had an average spermatozoa concentration of 321.11×10^(6) sperm cells/mL and the Duroc an average spermatozoa concentration of 568.86×10^(6) sperm cells/mL,which further confirmed that there was a significant difference in the statistical meaning(p<0.001).The semen quality(VAC)per one ejaculate between the three breeds showed significant difference(p<0.05),in which the VAC of the Yorkshire was 39.31×10^(9) sperms per ejaculate,Landrace was 44.54×10^(9) sperm cells per ejaculate and Duroc was 70.28×10^(9) sperm cells pe
