Accurate identification of glass crystallization helps in selecting high electronic conductivity materials

Though the current research on vanadium-based glass electrodes has made great progress, the conductivity theory of V-based glasses has not been obviously improved and crystals cannot be positioned precisely. The changes in the valence state of V3+, V4+and V5+are regulated by the strong reducing agent Fe2P to realize valence bond transformation of the amorphous electrode, explore the redox process of multi-electron reactions and further optimize the conductivity of electrode materials. VPFe2 and VPFe3 precipitate VO2crystals and VPFe4 precipitates VO2and V6O11crystals. Electron back-scattered diffraction was used to accurately identify the distribution and specific positions of both types of crystals. V6O11crystals exhibit a strong texture according to pole figure and inverse pole figure. XPS reveals that Fe2P and V2O5, undergo a redox reaction during the hightemperature melting process, where V5+is reduced to V4+and V3+and V4+renders a positive influence on conductivity. The addition of Fe2P increases the content of V4+in the glass and VPFe3 glass contains the highest content of V4+, leading to the highest electronic conductivity. V2O5transforms into VO2crystals and VO2transforms into V6O11with the increase of Fe2P content. The type of nanocrystal precipitation in glass affects electronic conductivity.

Protective Effects of Danmu Extract Syrup on Acute Lung Injury Induced by Lipopolysaccharide in Mice through Endothelial Barrier Repair

Objective:To investigate the effects of Danmu Extract Syrup(DMS) on lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced acute lung injury(ALI) in mice and explore the ***:Seventy-two male Balb/C mice were randomly divided into 6 groups according to a random number table(n=12),including control(normal saline),LPS(5 mg/kg),LPS+DMS 2.5 mL/kg,LPS+DMS 5 mL/kg,LPS+DMS 10 mL/kg,and LPS+Dexamethasone(DXM,5 mg/kg) *** pretreatment with DMS and DXM,the ALI mice model was induced by LPS,and the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF) were collected to determine protein concentration,cell counts and inflammatory *** lung tissues of mice were stained with hematoxylin-eosin,and the wet/dry weight ratio(W/D) of lung tissue was *** levels of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin(IL)-6 and IL-1βin BALF of mice were detected by enzyme linked immunosorbent *** expression levels of Claudin-5,vascular endothelial(VE)-cadherin,vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),phospho-protein kinase B(p-Akt) and Akt were detected by Western blot ***:DMS pre-treatment significantly ameliorated lung histopathological *** with the LPS group,the W/D ratio and protein contents in BALF were obviously reduced after DMS pretreatment(P<0.05 or P<0.01).The number of cells in BALF and myeloperoxidase(MPO) activity decreased significantly after DMS pretreatment(P<0.05 or P<0.01).DMS pre-treatment decreased the levels of TNF-α,IL-6 and IL-1β(P<0.01).Meanwhile,DMS activated the phosphoinositide 3-kinase/protein kinase B(PI3K/Akt) pathway and reversed the expressions of Claudin-5,VE-cadherin and VEGF(P<0.01).Conclusions:DMS attenuated LPS-induced ALI in mice through repairing endothelial *** might be a potential therapeutic drug for LPS-induced lung injury.

Introducing sulfur to nickel-iron selenide for high-efficiency alkaline seawater electrolysis

Seawater electrolysis is an effective way to obtain hydrogen(H_(2))in a sustainable ***,the lack of electrocatalysts with high activity,stability,and selectivity for oxygen evolution reaction(OER)severely hinders the development of seawater electrolysis ***,sulfur-doped nickel-iron selenide nanosheets(S-NiFeSe_(2))were prepared by an ion-exchange strategy and served as highly active OER electrocatalyst for alkaline seawater *** overpotential is 367 m V,and it can run stably for over 50 h at 100 m A cm^(-2).Excitingly,the S-NiFeSe_(2)||Pt/C pair exhibits cell voltage of 1.54 V at 10 m A cm^(-2)under alkaline seawater conditions,which can run smoothly for 100 h without decay,and the efficiency of electricity-tohydrogen(ETH)energy conversion reaches more than 80%.Such electrode,with abundant accessible reactive sites and good corrosion resistance,is a good candidate for seawater ***,density functional theory calculations reveal that the surface sulfur atoms can activate the adjacent Ni sites and decrease the free energy changes of the associated intermediates at the adjacent Ni sites for OER,and the step of~*OH→~*O is the potential rate-limiting *** this work,the true reactive site in nickel-iron selenides is the Ni sites,but not the Fe sites as commonly believed.

Seawater electrolysis holds great promise for hydrogen production in the future,while the development of anodic catalysts has been severely hampered by the side-reaction,chloride evolution *** this work,nano-flower-cluster structured Coo@FeSe_(2)/CF catalysts are synthesized via a scalable electrodeposition technique,and the performance is systematically *** oxygen evolution reaction(OER)overpotential of Co0@FeSe_(2)/CF is 267 mV at 100 ***^(-2),which is significantly lower than that of the IrO_(2) catalyst(435 mV).Additionally,the catalyst shows high selectivity for OER(97.9%)and almost no loss of activity after a durability test for 1100 *** impressive performance is attributed to the dense rod-like structure with abundant active centers after electrochemical activation and the in-situ generated CoOOH and FeOOH that improve the catalytic activity of the *** synergistic effect induced bythenon-uniform structureendows the catalyst with excellent stability.

Silencing transformer and transformer-2 in Zeugodacus cucurbitae causes defective sex determination with inviability of most pseudomales

transformer is a switch gene for sex determination in many insects, which cooperates with transformer-2 that is expressed in both sexes to regulate female differentiation, particularly in dipterans. Zeugodacus cucurbitae(Coquillett) is a very destructive pest worldwide, however, its sex determination pathway remains largely uncharacterized. Here, we show that the female sex ratio is sharply reduced with knockdown of either transformer or transformer-2 by RNA interference in early embryos of Z. cucurbitae. Most of the males grown from the embryos with transient transformer and transformer-2 suppression mated with wild-type females and produced mixed sex progeny, with one exception that produced only female progeny, and all of the few remaining males failed to mate with wild-type females and produced no progeny. The exceptional male and those males with mating failure were XX pseudomales as determined by the detection of Y chromosome-linked Maleness-on-the-Y, indicating that most XX pseudomales are not viable. The phenotypes of transformer and transformer-2 suggest that they play a key role in regulating sex determination and are required for female sexual development of Z. cucurbitae. Our results will be beneficial to the understanding of sex determination in Z. cucurbitae and can facilitate the development of genetic sexing strains for its biological control.

Recycling precious metals with high-efficiency is undoubtedly beneficial to optimize resource utilization for environmental remediation and sustainable ***,we report an efficient route to recycle the palladium(Pd)and platinum(Pt)electrocatalysts using a phase transfer *** strategy involves acidic dissolution of deactivated precious metal(Pd/Pt)electrocatalysts from their loading substrates,mixing with an ethanolic solution of dodecylamine(DDA),subsequent extraction of metal ions into a non-polar organic phase,and final reduction by sodium borohydride to reproduce high-performance electrocatalysts towards typical electrochemical reactions,e.g.,oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and ethanol oxidation reaction(EOR).In specific,the transfer efficiencies are up to 98%and the final recovery rate is over 85%for Pd and Pt electrocatalysts in each *** approach symbolizes a facile and efficient way to recover precious metals,which might be applied to recycling a wide range of metals in various realms after appropriate modifications.

Inversion of maize leaf nitrogen using UAV hyperspectral imagery in breeding fields

Nitrogen (N) as a pivotal factor in influencing the growth, development, and yield of maize. Monitoring the N status of maize rapidly and non-destructive and real-time is meaningful in fertilization management of agriculture, based on unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) remote sensing technology. In this study, the hyperspectral images were acquired by UAV and the leaf nitrogen content (LNC) and leaf nitrogen accumulation (LNA) were measured to estimate the N nutrition status of maize. 24 vegetation indices (VIs) were constructed using hyperspectral images, and four prediction models were used to estimate the LNC and LNA of maize. The models include a single linear regression model, multivariable linear regression (MLR) model, random forest regression (RFR) model, and support vector regression (SVR) model. Moreover, the model with the highest prediction accuracy was applied to invert the LNC and LNA of maize in breeding fields. The results of the single linear regression model with 24 VIs showed that normalized difference chlorophyll (NDchl) had the highest prediction accuracy for LNC (R2, R 2 , RMSE, and RE were 0.72, 0.21, and 12.19%, respectively) and LNA (R2, R 2 , RMSE, and RE were 0.77, 0.26, and 14.34%, respectively). And then, 24 VIs were divided into 13 important VIs and 11 unimportant VIs. Three prediction models for LNC and LNA were constructed using 13 important VIs, and the results showed that RFR and SVR models significantly enhanced the prediction accuracy of LNC and LNA compared to the multivariable linear regression model, in which RFR model had the highest prediction accuracy for the validation dataset of LNC (R2, R 2 , RMSE, and RE were 0.78, 0.16, and 8.83%, respectively) and LNA (R2, R 2 , RMSE, and RE were 0.85, 0.19, and 9.88%, respectively). This study provides a theoretical basis for N diagnosis and precise management of crop production based on hyperspectral remote sensing in precision agriculture.

Simplified p-i-n Perovskite Solar Cells with a Multifunctional Polyfullerene Electron Transporter

In prevailing p-i-n perovskite solar cells (PSCs), solution-processible fullerene molecules are widely used as electron-transporting layers (ETLs) but they typically suffer from poor uniformity and undesirable stability issues. Additionally, a separate bathocuproine (BCP) layer is needed to block hole transfer, increasing fabrication complexity and cost. Here, we address these limitations by developing a novel polymeric ETL (named PFBCP) synthesized by polymerizing C60 with BCP. This innovative material achieves both efficient electron transport and hole blocking, while its excellent uniformity minimizes interface recombination and enhances stability. Consequently, our blade-coated PSCs utilizing PFBCP achieve a high power conversion efficiency exceeding 22% and retain 91% of initial efficiency after 1200 h of light exposure. This development not only paves the way for commercially viable PSCs but also opens avenues for future ETL design to realize even more efficient and stable PSCs.
