Water absorption characteristics of two varieties of Canarium Schweinfurthii ***(Canarium Schweinfurthii *** and short)essential for predicting their suitable absorption conditions was investigated at three different temperatures(35,50,65C).Increase in moisture content of the fruits was measured at one-hour interval until constant values were obtained after five successive intervals of moisture *** of soluble constituents,textural and nutritive qualities of the rehydrated products and their thermodynamic behavior were also measured and *** results obtained revealed that saturation time for 35,50 and 65C of long and short varieties are 14,18 and 40 h and 18,22 and 36 h *** of absorption of the fruits differ significantly(p>0.05)with temperature and not with the *** absorption rate of Canarium Schweinfurthii *** and short varieties are 2.71 and 2.25 kg/h *** moisture bearing capacity,textural,and nutritive qualities of the reconstituted products showed no significant difference among varieties at different temperatures *** soaked at 35C produced reusable residual water,retained their nutritive values and soluble constituent more than other soaking temperatures ***,the absorption reaction is endothermic with negative entropy and Gibbs energy values were above *** model had the best quality for describing the absorption characteristics of both Canarium Schweifurthii ***.

Wastewater electrolysis cells (WECs) for decentralized wastewater treatment/reuse coupled with h-2 production can reduce the carbon footprint associated with transportation of water, waste, and energy carrier. This study reports Ir-doped NiFe2O4 (NFI, similar to 5 at% Ir) spinel layer with TiO2 overlayer (NFI/TiO2), as a scalable heterojunction anode for direct electrolysis of wastewater with circumneutral ph in a single-compartment cell. In dilute (0.1 M) NaCl solutions, the NFI/TiO2 marks superior activity and selectivity for chlorine evolution reaction, outperforming the benchmark IrO2. Robust operation in near-neutral ph was confirmed. Electroanalyses including operando X-ray absorption spectroscopy unveiled crucial roles of TiO2 which serves both as the primary site for Cl- chemisorption and a protective layer for NFI as an ohmic contact. Galvanostatic electrolysis of Nh4+-laden synthetic wastewater demonstrated that NFI/TiO2 not only achieves quasi-stoichiometric Nh4+-to-N-2 conversion, but also enhances h-2 generation efficiency with minimal competing reactions such as reduction of dissolved oxygen and reactive chlorine. The scaled-up WEC with NFI/TiO2 was demonstrated for electrolysis of toilet wastewater.

The modified embedded atom method(MEAM)with the universal form of embedding function and a modified energy term along with the pair potential has been employed to determine the potentials for alkali metals:Na,K,by fitting to the Cauchy pressure(C_(12)−C_(44))/2,shear constants Gv=(C_(11)−C_(12)+3C_(44))/5 and C_(44),the cohesive energy and the vacancy formation *** obtained potentials are used to calculate the phonon dispersions of these *** these calculated phonons we evaluate the local density of states of neighbours of vacancy using Green’s function *** local density of states of neighbours of vacancy has been used to calculate mean square displacements of these atoms and formation entropy of *** calculated mean square displacements of both 1st and 2nd neighbours of vacancy are found to be lower than that of host *** calculated phonon dispersions agree well with the experimental phonon dispersion curves and the calculated results of vacancy formation entropy compare well with the other available results.

Background:The usefulness of C-reactive protein(CRP)as a non-specific marker of inflammation during pregnancy and lactation is unclear in impoverished populations where co-existing infections and vitamin deficiencies are ***:This cross-sectional study in Panama recruited 120 pregnant and 99 lactating Ngäbe-Buglewomen from 14 communities in rural *** history,indoor wood smoke exposure,fieldwork,BMI,vitamins A,B_(12),D,and folic acid,and inflammation markers(CRP,neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio(NLR),plateletcrit and cytokines)were *** regressions explored both associations of CRP with other inflammatory markers and associations of CRP and elevated CRP based on trimester-specific cut-offs with maternal factors,infections and vitamin ***:CRP was higher in pregnancy(51.4±4.7 nmol/L)than lactation(27.8±3.5 nmol/L)and was elevated above trimester specific cut-offs in 21%of pregnant and 30%of lactating *** deficiencies were common(vitamin A 29.6%;vitamin D 68.5%;vitamin B1268%;folic acid 25.5%)and over 50%of women had two or more concurrent deficiencies as well as multiple *** regression models highlighted differences in variables associated with CRP between pregnancy and *** pregnancy,CRP was positively associated with greater indoor wood smoke exposure,caries and hookworm and negatively associated with Ascaris and vaginal Lactobacillus and Bacteroides/Gardnerella *** with this,greater wood smoke exposure,caries as well as higher diplococcal infection score increased the odds of trimester-elevated CRP concentrations whereas longer gestational age lowered the likelihood of a trimester-elevated *** lactation,folic acid deficiency was associated with higher CRP whereas parity,number of eosinophils and Mobiluncus score were associated with lower ***,a higher BMI and Trichomonas vaginalis score increased the likelihood of an elevated CRP whereas higher parity and numbe

Berry fruits are known as“superfoods”due to health benefits associated with the high content of bioactive compounds or *** extraction solvents are fundamentally volatile compounds acquired from non-renewable resources,i.e petroleum-based solvents are presumed to be harmful to both human health and the *** to the new emphasis on environmental and safety protections and the development of green chemistry,finding alternative solvents to replace the organic ones has recently become a major ***,there is a great interest in the scientific community to develop a suitable green approach to allow the extraction and recovery of the bioactive phytonutrients from berry sources for applications in improving human health and *** this study,the phytonutrient composition of three popular wild berries:blueberry(vaccinium angustifolium),partridgeberry(vaccinium vitis-idaea L.)and Rosehipberry(Rosa canina),were evaluated following extraction using biphasic green solvents at ph 2.5,7.0,and 11.5 under pressurized conditions using Accelerated Solvent Extraction(ASE)*** total phenolic content and composition,antioxidant activity,vitamin and mineral content of the berry extracts were evaluated using Folin-Ciocalteu assay,Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power Assay(FRAP),Ultra-high-pressure Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry(UhPLC-MS)and inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry(ICP-MS),*** highest total antioxidant activity(p≤0.05)and phenolic content were observed in rosehip berry followed by blueberry and partridgeberry in the hydroethanolic extracts at ph ***,the highest extraction efficiency of total fat-soluble vitamins(FSv)and total B vitamins were also observed in the hydroethanolic extract at ph *** in rosehipberry and partridgeberry the highest vitamin C content was observed in hydroethanolic extract at ph 11.5,whereas in blueberry it was observed in the ph 2.5 hydroethanolic extract.I

Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography is considered the gold standard for treating benign and malignant biliary ***,its use in complex biliary obstructions is *** the past decades,therapeutic endosonography(EUS)and emerging technologies such as lumen-apposing metal stents have enabled endoscopic treatment of conditions previously requiring nonendoscopic or surgical *** show that EUS-guided choledochoduodenostomy is a reliable alternative to endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography in the treatment of distal malignant biliary obstructions and can be considered a primary drainage modality in centers with adequate *** malignant hilar biliary obstructions,draining at least 50%of viable liver tissue often requires combining different *** treatment strategy in these patients should be individualized,depending on the Bismuth classification,patient physical status,and intended systemic *** to the lack of evidence,general recommendations cannot be made for EUS-guided hepaticoduodenostomy or combined procedures with transhepatic bridging *** novel techniques should be limited to selected palliative cases where conventional methods have failed and conducted within clinical trials to generate evidence before broader application.
