Electronic interactions of the Group 2A elements with magnesium have been studied through the dilute solid solutions in binary Mg-Ca,Mg-Sr and Mg-Ba *** investigation incorporated the difference in the‘Work Function'(ΔWF)measured via Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy(KPFM),as a property directly affected by interatomic bond types,*** electronic structure,nanoindentation measurements,and Stacking Fault Energy values reported in the *** was shown that the nano-hardness of the solid-solutionα-Mg phase changed in the order of Mg-Ca>Mg-Sr>***,it was shown,by also considering the nano-hardness levels,that SFE of a solid-solution is closely correlated with its‘Work Function'***-hardness measurements on the eutectics andΔWF difference between eutectic phases enabled an assessment of the relative bond strength and the pertinent electronic structures of the eutectics in the three *** withΔWF and at least qualitative verification of those computed SFE values with some experimental measurement techniques were considered important as those computational methods are based on zero Kelvin degree,relatively simple atomic models and a number of *** asserted by this investigation,if the results of measurement techniques can be qualitatively correlated with those of the computational methods,it can be possible to evaluate the electronic structures in alloys,starting from binary systems,going to ternary and then multi-elemental *** investigation has shown that such a qualitative correlation is *** all,the SFE values are not treated as absolute values but rather become essential in comparative investigations when assessing the influences of alloying elements at a fundamental level,that is,free electron density *** study indicated that the principles of‘electronic metallurgy'in developing multi-elemental alloy systems can be followed via practical experimental methods,i.e.ΔWF measurements using KPF

A protective action of melatonin(MELAT)on docetaxel(DCT)-induced inflammation,apoptosis,and reactive free oxygen radical(fROS)generation values via blocking of TRPM2 calcium-permeable channel was investigated in different cells except for laryngo-tracheal epithelial(LT-Epi)***,the protective action ofMELAT on DCT-induced oxidative toxicity and inflammation in LT-Epi tissue and cells of mice were investigated in the current *** treatment ameliorated DCTinduced mitochondrial ROS in the LT-Epi cells by reducing the generation of fROS(cytosolic and mitochondrial),lipid peroxidation,and depolarization of the mitochondrial membrane,while increasing reduced glutathione(GSh),GSh peroxidase,and total antioxidant *** addition,DCT-induced increases of cytokine(IL-1β,IL-6,and TnF-α)generations were also diminished in the LT-Epi tissue by MELAT ***,MELAT treatment increased viability and count of the cells followed by decreasing levels of cell death,caspase-3,*** TRPM2 activity was also reduced by MELAT and TRPM2 channel blocker(ACA)*** conclusion,MELAT modulated the increase of DCT-induced LT-Epi cell death by inhibiting mitochondrial oxidative stress and TRPM2 channel ***,DCTcaused side cell death,oxidant,and inflammatory actions in the LT-Epi were diminished via the treatment of MELAT.

novel sorbent hydrogels containing acrylamide/sodium vinylsulfonate, carboxymethyl cellulose and zeolite were synthesized with free radical solution polymerization by using ammonium persulfate/N,N,N’,N’-tetramethylethyle-n>n>nediamine as redox initiating pair in presence of poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate as crosslinker. It was to investigate the water uptake properties of series of the novel hydrogels, the semi IPNs and the hybrid/biohybrid composite hydrogel sorbents synthesized in this study. Water uptake studies were performed in water and in water-solvent (acetone, methanol and tetrahydrofuran) binary mixtures at 25n>n>°C, gravimetrically. Some swelling and diffusion parameters were calculated and discussed. It has been seen that the lower equilibrium swelling factor values in all solvent compositions in comparison with the equilibrium swelling factor values in water.n>n>n>

In this study, it has been investigated that the incorporation of poly(ethylene glycol) and 4-styrenesulfonic acid sodium salt into acrylamide hydrogel during free radical solution polymerization synthesis for novel highly swollen adsorbents and for the effective removal of some potential pollutants from aqueous solutions such as cationic dyes. Poly(ethylene glycol)diacrylate was used as a multifunctional crosslinker. The main purpose of this study was to combine both monomers and a polymer in a new polymeric system. Dye sorption properties of the polymeric hydrogels were investigated by using cationic dye such as Janus Green B. Swelling and sorption studies were carried out at 25°C. For structural characterization, FT-IR analysis and SEM studies were applied. To determine the sorption behaviors of Janus Green B, some sorption parameters such as dye removal capacity, adsorption percentagen>, and partition coefficient of the polymeric hydrogels were investigated.
