Aim:Anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody is a cornerstone therapy for follicular *** anti-CD20 therapy,a potential decrease in CD20 antigen,and therefore a loss of the tumor target might be ***,the incidence and clinical significance of CD20 loss on tumor cells in patients with relapsed or refractory follicular lymphoma are *** study aims to investigate the incidence and outcome of patients with relapsed or refractory follicular lymphoma patients harboring the loss of the tumor target,***:All consecutive adult patients with relapsed or refractory follicular lymphoma referred to the Early Drug Department at gustave roussy were *** main objectives were to assess the incidence and prognosis of the loss in expression of CD20 antigen on the surface of tumor cells on patient ***:Over the study period 2013-2018,131 patients were screened for clinical trials with B-cell malignancies in the early drug department of gustave roussy in ***-four patients presented with relapsed or refractory follicular lymphoma and 32 had tumor biopsies at the time of relapse that were retained for *** median(range)age was 67.5 years(55.3-75.3)and the median number of prior anti-cancer systemic therapies was 3(2-4).At the time of relapse,CD20 expression was positive in 84%of tumors(n=27)and negative in 16%of tumors(n=5).At a median follow-up of 18.3(0.6-83.3)months,CD20 negativity was associated with a poorer prognosis with a median overall survival of 8.9 months(95%CI:2.4-19.1)in comparison to CD20 positive patients(28.3 months,95%CI:25.1-75.3 months,P=0.019).Conclusion:The loss of the tumor target antigen,CD20,occurred in 16%of patients with relapse or refractory follicular *** to confounding factors in patients who received anti-CD20 immunotherapy,it was not possible to formally establish the prognostic significance of CD20 ***,we suggest that a check for CD20 antigen positivity nevertheless

The Sino-French 2012 Conference in Thoracic Oncology, held November 17-18, 2012, was hosted by the Department of Thoracic Surgery at Sun Yat-sen University cancer Center and organized in collaboration with two prestigious French hospitals: Institute gustave roussy and Marie Lannelongue Hospital. The conference was established by leading experts from China and France to serve as an international academic platform for sharing novel findings in basic research and valuable clinical practice experiences. Hot topics including innovation in surgical techniques, diagnosis and staging of early-stage lung cancer, minimally invasive surgery, multidisciplinary treatment of lung cancer, and progress in radiotherapy for lung cancer were explored. Highlights of the conference presentations are summarized in this report.

Brain macrophages include microglia in the parenchyma,border-associated macrophages in the meningeal-choroid plexus-perivascular space,and monocyte-derived macrophages that infiltrate the brain under various disease *** vast heterogeneity of these cells has been elucidated over the last decade using revolutionary multiomics *** such,we can now start to define these various macrophage populations according to their ontogeny and their diverse functional programs during brain development,homeostasis and disease *** this review,we first outline the critical roles played by brain macrophages during development and healthy *** then discuss how brain macrophages might undergo reprogramming and contribute to neurodegenerative disorders,autoimmune diseases,and ***,we speculate about the most recent and ongoing discoveries that are prompting translational attempts to leverage brain macrophages as prognostic markers or therapeutic targets for diseases that affect the brain.

Transcatheter embolization therapy in liver cancer:an update of clinical evidences

Transarterial chemoembolization （TACE） is a form of intra-arterial catheter-based chemotherapy that selectively delivers high doses of cytotoxic drug to the tumor bed combining with the effect of ischemic necrosis induced by arterial embolization. Chemoembolization and radioembolization are at the core of the treatment of liver hepatocellular carcinoma （HCC） patients who cannot receive potentially curative therapies such as transplantation, resection or percutaneous ablation. TACE for liver cancer has been proven to be useful in local tumor control, to prevent tumor progression, prolong patients＇ life and control patient symptoms. Recent evidence showed in patients with single-nodule HCC of 3 cm or smaller without vascular invasion, the 5-year overall survival （OS） with TACE was similar to that with hepatic resection and radiofrequency ablation. Mthough being used for decades, Lipiodol~ （Lipiodol~ Ultra Fluid~, Guerbet, France） remains important as a tumor-seeking and radio-opaque clrug delivery vector in intervendonal oncology. There have been efforts to improve the delivery of chemotherapeutic agents to tumors. Drug-eluting bead （DEB） is a relatively novel drug delivery embolization system which allows for fixed dosing and the ability to release the anticancer agents in a sustained manner. Three DEBs are available, i.e., Tandem~ （CeloNova Biosciences Inc., USA）, DC-Beads~ （BTG, UK） and HepaSphere~ （BioSphere Medical, Inc., USA）. Transarterial radioembolization （TARE） technique has been developed, and proven to be efficient and safe in advanced liver cancers and those with vascular complications. Two types of radioembolization microspheres are available i.e., SIR-Spheres~ （Sirtex Medical Limited, Australia） and TheraSphere~ （BTG, UK）. Estimation of intra-operator variability in perfusion parameter measurements using DCE-US

AIM:To investigate intra-operator variability of semiquantitative perfusion parameters using dynamic contrast-enhanced ultrasonography(DCE-US),following bolus injections of SonoVue.METHODS:The in vitro experiments were conducted using three in-house sets up based on pumping a fluid through a phantom placed in a water *** the in vivo experiments,B16F10 melanoma cells were xenografted to five nude *** in vitro and in vivo,images were acquired following bolus injections of the ultrasound contrast agent SonoVue(Bracco,Milan,Italy) and using a Toshiba Aplio ultrasound scanner connected to a 2.9-5.8 MHz linear transducer(PZT,PLT 604AT probe)(Toshiba,Japan) allowing harmonic imaging("Vascular Recognition Imaging") involving linear raw data.A mathematical model based on the dye-dilution theory was developed by the gustave roussy Institute,Villejuif,France and used to evaluate seven perfusion parameters from time-intensity ***-operator variability analyses were based on determining perfusion parameter coefficients of variation(CV).RESULTS:In vitro,different volumes of SonoVue were tested with the three phantoms:intra-operator variability was found to range from 2.33% to 23.72%.In vivo,experiments were performed on tumor tissues and perfusion parameters exhibited values ranging from 1.48% to 29.97%.In addition,the area under the curve(AUC) and the area under the wash-out(AUWO) were two of the parameters of great interest since throughout in vitro and in vivo experiments their variability was lower than 15.79%.CONCLUSION:AUC and AUWO appear to be the most reliable parameters for assessing tumor perfusion using DCE-US as they exhibited the lowest CV values.
