Neuropeptides are crucial in regulation of a rich variety of developmental,physiological,and behavioral functions throughout the life cycle of *** an integrated approach of multiomics,we identified neuropeptide precursors in the greater wax moth Galleria mellonella,which is a harmful pest of honeybee hives with a worldwide ***,a total of 63 and 67 neuropeptide precursors were predicted and annotated in the *** genome and transcriptome,in which 40 neuropeptide precursors were confirmed in the *** ***,we identified 12 neuropeptide precursor genes present in *** but absent in honeybees,which may be potential novel pesticide target *** hives were contaminated with heavy metals such as lead,enabling its bioaccumulation in *** bodies through the food chain,we performed transcriptome sequencing to analyze the effects of Pb stress on the mRNA expression level of *** neuropeptide *** treatment by Pb,the expression of neuropeptide F1 was found to be significantly downregulated,implying that this neuropeptide might be associated with responding to the heavy metal stress in *** study comprehensively identified neuropeptide precursors in ***,and discussed the effects of heavy metals on insect neuropeptides,with the example of *** results are valuable for future elucidation of how neuropeptides regulate physiological functions in *** and contribute to our understanding of the insect's environmental plasticity and identify potential new biomarkers to assess heavy metal toxicity in insects.

Experimental study on ice monitoring method for 10 kV transmission line with tangent tower in alpine landform

Ice monitoring methods were applied for 110 kV and above transmission lines with tangent ***,the change in the vertical span is not considered,and a significant difference lies in the tower-conductor structure of 10 kV transmission *** this reason,a proposal is made about the ice monitoring method for the 10 kV transmission line with tangent tower in alpine landform,which includes the ice monitoring system based on pressure measurement and corresponding equivalent ice thickness calculating *** methods calculate the vertical span under different height difference coefficients.A finite element simulation model and a simulated ice load experiment system are established based on real conductors and *** and simulations under four simulated terrains are conducted within 2.5–20 mm ice thickness *** comparison is made between this method and the method without considering the change in vertical *** results show that the two methods are consistent and the relative errors are lower than�4%in simulation and�10%in experiment when the height difference coefficient is *** it is not 0,the relative errors of this method fall between t0.38%and t6.78%in simulation and−6.40%to t6.60%in experiment,while the relative errors of the method without considering the change in vertical span ranges between−11.13%and−20.23%in simulation and−11.65%to−23.20%in experiment.

Comparison of CWSI and T_(s)-T_(a)-VIs in moisture monitoring of dryland crops(sorghum and maize)based on UAV remote sensing

Monitoring agricultural drought using remote sensing data is crucial for precision irrigation in modern *** unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)remote sensing,we explored the applicability of an empirical crop water stress index(CWSI)based on canopy temperature and three-dimensional drought indices(TDDI)constructed from surface temperature(T_(s)),air temperature(T_(a))and five vegetation indices(VIs)for monitoring the moisture status of dryland *** machine learning algorithms(random forest regression(RFR),support vector regression,and partial least squares regression)were used to compare the performance of the drought indices for vegetation moisture content(VMC)estimation in sorghum and *** main results of the study were as follows:(1)Comparative analysis of the drought indices revealed that T_(s)-T_(a)-normalized difference vegetation index(TDDIn)and T_(s)-T_(a)-enhanced vegetation index(TDDIe)were more strongly correlated with VMC compared with the other *** indices exhibited varying sensitivities to VMC under different irrigation regimes;the strongest correlation observed was for the TDDIe index with maize under the fully irrigated treatment(r=-0.93).(2)Regarding spatial and temporal characteristics,the TDDIn,TDDIe and CWSI indices showed minimal differences Over the experimental period,with coefficients of variation were 0.25,0.18 and 0.24,*** three indices were capable of effectively characterizing the moisture distribution in dryland maize and sorghum crops,but the TDDI indices more accurately monitored the spatial distribution of crop moisture after a rainfall or irrigation event.(3)For prediction of the moisture content of single crops,RFR models based on TDDIn and TDDIe estimated VMC most accurately(R^(2)>0.7),and the TDDIn-based model predicted VMC with the highest accuracy when considering multiple-crop samples,with R^(2)and RMSE of 0.62 and 14.26%,***,TDDI proved more effective than the CWSI in e

Effects of thinning on the understory light environment of different stands and the photosynthetic performance and growth of the reforestation species Phoebe bournei

Light levels determine regeneration in stands and a key concern is how to regulate the light environment of different stand types to the requirements of the *** this study,we selected three stands typical in south China(a Cryptomeria japonica plantation,a Quercus acutissima plantation,and a mixed stand of both)and three thinning intensities to determine the best understory light environ-ment for 3-year-old Phoebe bournei *** canopy structure,understory light environment,and photosynthe-sis and growth indicators were assessed following *** improved canopy structure and understory light availability of each stand;species composition was the reason for differences in the understory light *** the same thinning intensity,the mixed stand had the greatest light radiation and most balanced spectral *** photosynthesis and growth were closely related to the light environment;all three stands required heavy thinning to create an effective and sustained understory light *** a suitable understory light environment,the efficiency of light interception,absorption,and use by seedlings was enhanced,resulting in a higher carbon assimilation the main limiting factor was stomatal *** a shade-avoidance signal,red/far-red radia-tion is a critical factor driving changes in photosynthesis and growth of *** seedlings,and a reduction increased light absorption and use capacity and height:diameter *** growth advantage transformed from diameter to height,enabling seedlings to access more *** findings suggest that the regeneration of shade-tolerant species such as *** could be enhanced if a targeted approach to thinning based on stand type was adopted.

Graphene effectively activating "dead" water molecules between manganese dioxide layers in potassium-ion battery

Aqueous potassium-ion batteries(APIBs),recognized as safe and reliable new energy devices,are considered as one of the alternatives to traditional *** MnO_(2),serving as the main cathode,exhibits a lower specific capacity in aqueous electrolytes compared to organic systems and operates through a different reaction *** application of highly conductive graphene may effectively enhance the capacity of APIBs but could complicate the potassium storage *** this study,a MnO_(2) cathode pre-intercalated with K~+ions and grown on graphene(KMO@rGO) was developed using the microwave hydrothermal method for ***@rGO achieved a specific capacity of 90 mA h g^(-1) at a current density of 0.1 A g^(-1),maintaining a capacity retention rate of>90% after 5000 cycles at 5 A g^(-1).In-situ and exsitu characterization techniques revealed the energy-storage mechanism of KMO@rGO:layered MnO_(2)traps a large amount of "dead" water molecules during K~+ions ***,the introduction of graphene enables these water molecules to escape during K~+ ions insertion at the *** galvanostatic intermittent titration technique and density functional theory confirmed that KMO@rGO has a higher K~+ions migration rate than MnO_(2).Therefore,the capacity of this cathode depends on the interaction between dead water and K~+ions during the energy-storage *** optimal structural alignment between layered MnO_(2) and graphene allows electrons to easily flow into the external *** charge compensation forces numerous low-solvent K~+ions to displace interlayer dead water,enhancing the *** unique reaction mechanism is unprecedented in other aqueous battery studies.

Preparation of Manganese Oxide and Its Adsorption Properties

The in-situ oxidation of manganese sulfate solution with H2O_(2),sodium hypochlorite,potassium permanganate and oxygen as oxidants was investigated by means of SEM,EDS,XRD,BET and infrared analysis,and the effects of different oxidants on the morphology,phase composition,surface properties and specific surface area of manganese oxides were *** experimental results show that the diameter of manganese oxide particles prepared with H_(2)O_(2)is the smallest,about 50 nm,and the specific surface area is the largest,63.8764 m^(2)/*** has the advantages of abundant surface hydroxyl groups,no introduction of other impurities and large adsorption *** is most suitable to be used as an oxidant for oxidizing manganese sulfate solution to prepare manganese oxide by in-situ *** manganese oxide prepard by H_(2)O_(2)in-situ oxidation method is used as adsorbent to adsorb cobalt and nickel impurities in manganese *** the reaction pH is 6,the reaction time is 30min and the amount of adsorbent is 1.0 g,the adsorption rates of cobalt and nickel impurities in 100ml manganese sulfate solution are 97.59%and 97.67%,*** residual amounts of cobalt and nickel meet the industrial process standard of first-class products(Co,Ni w/%≤0.005)of high-purity manganese sulfate(Hg/t4823-2015)for *** study plays a guiding role in the preparation and regulation of manganese oxide,and provides a new method with high efficiency,purity and adsorbent availability for the preparation of high-purity manganese sulfate solution.

Effects of acid mine drainage on photochemical and biological degradation of dissolved organic matter in karst river water

Dissolved organic matter(DOM)can be removed or transformed by photochemical and biological processes,producing the negative effect of transforming organic carbon into inorganic carbon,which plays a vital role in the karst carbon ***,acid mine drainage(AMD)will affect this process,so the degradation of DOM in karst river water(KRW)needs to be studied in this *** this study,to reveal the evolution processes of DOM under photochemical and biological conditions in AMD-impacted KRW,AMD and KRW were mixed in different ratios under conditions of visible light irradiation(VL),biodegradation(BD),ultraviolet irradiation(UV)and ultraviolet irradiation+biodegradation(UV+BD).The average DOC concentrations in samples after mixing AMD and KRW in different proportions decreased significantly(by 23%)in UV+BD,which was 1.2–1.4 times higher than under the other conditions and would lead to a significant release of inorganic *** analysis of the fluorescence parameters via parallel factor analysis(PARAFAC)revealed that the DOM fluorescence components in AMD comprised mainly protein-like substances derived from autochthonous components,while the DOM fluorescence components in KRW were mainly humic-like substances with both autochthonous and allochthonous ***,AMD could promote both the photochemical and biological degradation of DOM in karst receiving streams,resulting in the conversion of DOC to inorganic *** results showed that the synergistic effects of UV+BD and AMD accelerated the degradation of DOM and the release of inorganic carbon in KRW,thus affecting the stability of the karst carbon cycle.

Rheumatoid arthritis(RA)is an inflammatory disease accompanied by abnormal synovial microenvironment(SM).Sesquiterpene lactones(SLs)are the main anti-inflammatory ingredients of many traditional herbs utilized in RA treatment.α-Methylene-γ-butyrolactone(α-M-γ-B)is a core moiety that widely exists in natural *** study was designed to investigate the anti-arthritic potential ofα-M-γ-B as an independent small molecule in vitro and in vivo.α-M-γ-B exhibited stronger electrophilicity and anti-inflammatory effects than the other six analogs.α-M-γ-B inhibited the production of pro-inflammatory mediators via repolarizing M1 macrophages into M2 *** transcriptome sequencing suggested thatα-M-γ-B regulated the immune system ***,α-M-γ-B attenuated collagen type II-induced arthritic(CIA)phenotype,restored the balance of Tregs-macrophages and remodeled SM via repolarizing the synovial-associated macrophages in CIA ***,althoughα-M-γ-B did not prevent the trans-nucleus of NF-κB it interfered with the DNA binding activity of NF-κB via direct interaction with the sulfhydryl in cysteine residue of NF-κB p65,which blocked the activation of NF-κ*** of NF-κB reduced the M1 polarization of macrophage and suppressed the synovial hyperplasia and angiogenesis.α-M-γ-B failed to ameliorate CIA in the presence of N-acetylcysteine or when the mice were subjected to the macrophage-specific deficiency of *** conclusion,α-M-γ-B significantly attenuated the CIA phenotype by directly targeting NF-κB p65 and inhibiting its DNA binding *** results suggest thatα-M-γ-B has the potential to serve as an alternative candidate for treating *** greater electrophilicity ofα-M-γ-B,the basis for triggering strong anti-inflammatory activity,accounts for the reason whyα-M-γ-B is evolutionarily conserved in the SLs by medical plants.

Circadian disturbance induces erectile dysfunction by impairing endothelial function

In order to explore the impact of circadian disturbance on erectile function,we randomly divided 24 adult male rats into groups of control(light on at 8:00 *** off at 8:00 p.m.),dark/dark(DD;constant dark),light/light(LL;constant light),and shift dark/light(DL;light off at 8:00 *** on at 8:0o p.m.).Four weeks later,erectile function was measured and corpora cavernosa were harvested for *** maximum intracavernous pressure(mlcP)and mCP/mean arterial pressure(MAP)ratio in the DD,LL,and DL groups were significantly lower than that in the control *** LL and DL groups showed significantly attenuated endothelial nitric oxide synthase(eNOS),while DD,LL,and DL showed reduced neuronal nitric oxide synthase(nNOS)at both mRNA and protein *** production of nitric oxide(NO)and cyclic guanosinemonophosphate(cGMP)was inhibited by altered light/dark cycles to varying *** disturbance impaired endothelial function and contributed to erectile *** the core circadian elements,mRNA expression of circadian locomotor output cycles kaput(Clock)and brain/muscle aryl-hydrocarbon receptor nuclear translocator-like protein 1(Bmal1)was elevated in the DL group,but their protein expression was not significantly ***,LL,and DL increased period 1(Per1)and Per3 levels,while LL and DL increased PER1 *** significant difference was found for Per2levels,and PER2 and PER3 concentrations were not significantly ***,LL and DL significantly increased cryptochrome-1(CRY1)and CRY2 at both mRNA and protein *** altered light/dark rat model showed that circadian disturbance contributed to erectile dysfunction probably by impairing endothelial ***,the core circadian elements were detected in the corpora cavernosa,but these were ***,which circadian element regulates erectile function and how it works need further analysis.
