A Spatiotemporal Causality Based Governance Framework for Noisy Urban Sensory Data

Urban sensing is one of the fundamental building blocks of urban *** uses various types of sensors deployed in different geospatial locations to continuously and cooperatively monitor the natural and cultural environment in urban ***,issues such as uneven distribution,low sampling rate and high failure ratio of sensors often make their readings less *** paper provides an innovative framework to detect the noise data as well as to repair them from a spatial-temporal causality perspective rather than to deal with them *** can be achieved by connecting data through monitored objects,using the Skip-gram model to estimate spatial correlation and long shortterm memory to estimate temporal *** framework consists of three major modules:1)a space embedded Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory(BiLSTM)-based sequence labeling module to detect the noise data and the latent missing data;2)a space embedded BiLSTM-based sequence predicting module calculating the value of the missing data;3)an object characteristics fusion repairing module to correct the spatial and temporal dislocation sensory *** approach is evaluated with real-world data collected by over 3000 electronic traffic bayonet devices in a citywide scale of a medium-sized city in China,and the result is superior to those of several referenced *** a 12.9%improvement,in data accuracy over the raw data,the proposed framework plays a significant,role in various real-world use cases in urban governance,such as criminal investigation,traffic violation monitoring,and equipment maintenance.

Modeling the Adverse Impact of Rainstorms on a Regional transport Network

Cities are centers of socioeconomic activities,and transport networks carry cargoes and passengers from one city to another. However, transport networks are influenced by meteorological hazards, such as rainstorms,hurricanes, and fog. Adverse weather impacts can easily spread over a network. Existing models evaluating such impacts usually neglect the transdisciplinary nature of approaches for dealing with this problem. In this article, a mesoscopic mathematical model is proposed to quantitatively assess the adverse impact of rainstorms on a regional transport network in northern China by measuring the reduction in traffic volume. The model considers four factors: direct and secondary impacts of rainstorms, interdependency between network components, and recovery abilities of cities. We selected the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region as the case study area to verify our ***, precipitation, and traffic volume data in this area were used for model calibration and *** case study highlights the potential of the proposed model for rapid disaster loss assessment and risk reduction planning.

Last train timetable optimization for metro network to maximize the passenger accessibility over the end-of-service period

Purpose-This study aims to improve the passenger accessibility of passenger demands in the end-ofoperation ***/methodology/approach-A mixed integer nonlinear programming model for last train timetable optimization of the metro was proposed considering the constraints such as the maximum headway,the minimum headway and the latest end-of-operation *** objective of the model is to maximize the number of reachable passengers in the end-of-operation period.A solution method based on a preset train service is proposed,which significantly reduces the variables of deciding train services in the original model and reformulates it into a mixed integer linear programming ***-The results of the case study of Wuhan Metro show that the solution method can obtain highquality solutions in a shorter time;and the shorter the time interval of passenger flow data,the more obvious the advantage of solution speed;after optimization,the number of passengers reaching the destination among the passengers who need to take the last train during the end-of-operation period can be increased by 10%.Originality/value-Existing research results only consider the passengers who take the last *** with previous research,considering the overall passenger demand during the end-of-operation period can make more passengers arrive at their *** delaying the end-of-operation time can increase the proportion of passengers who can reach the destination in the metro network,but due to the decrease in passenger demand,postponing the end-of-operation time has a bottleneck in increasing the proportion of passengers who can reach the destination.

Dynamic prediction of traffic incident duration on urban expressways: a deep learning approach based on LSTM and MLP

Many viruses can cause respiratory diseases in *** great advances have been achieved in methods of diagnosis,it remains challenging to identify pathogens in unexplained pneumonia(UP) *** this study,we applied next-generation sequencing(NGS) technology and a metagenomic approach to detect and characterize respiratory viruses in UP cases from Guizhou Province,China.A total of 33 oropharyngeal swabs were obtained from hospitalized UP patients and subjected to *** unbiased metagenomic analysis pipeline identified 13 virus species in 16 *** rhinovirus C was the virus most frequently detected and was identified in seven *** measles virus,adenovirus B 55 and coxsackievirus A10 were also *** sequencing also provided virus genomic sequences,which enabled genotype characterization and phylogenetic *** cases of multiple infection,metagenomic sequencing afforded information regarding the quantity of each virus in the sample,which could be used to evaluate each viruses' role in the *** study highlights the potential of metagenomic sequencing for pathogen identification in UP cases.

This paper establishes the stable results for generalized fuzzy games by using a nonlinear scalarization technique. The authors introduce some concepts of well-posedness for generalized fuzzy games. Moreover, the authors identify a class of generalized fuzzy games such that every element of the collection is generalized well-posed, and there exists a dense residual subset of the collection, where every generalized fuzzy game is robust well-posed.

Three-dimensional visualization of soil pore structure using computed tomography

The geometric and spatial characteristics of pore structures determine the permeability and water retention of soils, which have important effects on soil functional diversity and ecological restoration. Until recently, there have not been tools and methods to visually and quantitatively describe the characteristics of soil pores. To solve this problem, this research reconstructs the geometry and spatial distribution of soil pores by the marching cubes method, texture mapping method and the ray casting method widely used in literature. The objectives were to explore an optimal method for three-dimensional visualization of soil pore structure by comparing the robustness of the three methods on soil CT images with single pore structure and porosity ranging from low (2–5%) to high (12–18%), and to evaluate the reconstruction performance of the three methods with different geometric features. The results demonstrate that there are aliases (jagged edges) and deficiency at the boundaries of the model reconstructed by the marching cubes method and pore volumes are smaller than the ground truth, whereas the results of the texture mapping method lack the details of pore structures. For all the soil images, the ray casting method is preferable since it better preserves the pore characteristics of the ground truth. Furthermore, the ray casting method produced the best soil pore model with higher rendering speed and lower memory consumption. Therefore, the ray casting method provides a more advanced method for visualization of pore structures and provides an optional technique for the study of the transport of moisture and the exchange of air in soil.

Owning to the wide distribution,low cost,and similar chemical-electrochemical properties with lithium,sodium-ion batteries(SIBs) have attracted much attention during recent years and may have the potential to replace the commercial lithium-ion ***,facile and simple bottom-up approach has been rationally applied to fabricate carbon-encapsulated ZnSe@CoSe_(2)micro spheres and Cu_(2)Se@CoSe_(2)*** as-prepared ZnSe@-CoSe_(2)microspheres and Cu_(2)Se@CoSe_(2)nanocubes composites inherited the original structure of ZnCo-MOF and CuCo-MOF,***,both ZnSe@CoSe_(2)micro spheres and Cu_(2)Se@CoSe_(2)nanocubes delivered excellent electrochemical performance when presented as anode materials for *** ZnSe@CoSe2micro spheres and Cu_(2)Se@CoSe_(2)nanocubes electrode could display a long-term cycling stability with a reversible capacity of 525 and 423 mAh·g^(-1)at the current density of 1 A·g^(-1)after 500 cycles,***,even at a high current density of 5 A·g^(-1),ZnSe@CoSe_(2)microsphere could still maintain 520 mAh·g^(-1)after 500 cycles,demonstrating remarkable capacity and excellent cycling *** high performances were beneficial from the unique hollow and porous structure of ZnSe@CoSe_(2)microspheres and Cu_(2)Se@CoSe_(2)nanocubes derived from the precursor which facilitate the transport of sodium ions,contributing to high capacity,improved excellent cycle stability and rate capability.

Study on the Uncertainty of the Available Time Under Ship Fire Based on Monte Carlo Sampling Method

Available safety egress time under ship fire （SFAT） is critical to ship fire safety assessment, design and emergency rescue. Although it is available to determine SFAT by using fire models such as the two-zone fire model CFAST and the field model FDS, none of these models can address the uncertainties involved in the input parameters. To solve this problem, current study presents a framework of uncertainty analysis for SFAT. Firstly, a deterministic model estimating SFAT is built. The uncertainties of the input parameters are regarded as random variables with the given probability distribution functions. Subsequently, the deterministic SFAT model is employed to couple with a Monte Carlo sampling method to investigate the uncertainties of the SFAT. The Spearman＇s rank-order correlation coefficient （SRCC） is used to examine the sensitivity of each input uncertainty parameter on SFAT. To illustrate the proposed approach in detail, a case study is performed. Based on the proposed approach, probability density function and cumulative density function of SFAT are obtained. Furthermore, sensitivity analysis with regard to SFAT is also conducted. The results give a high-negative correlation of SFAT and the fire growth coefficient whereas the effect of other parameters is so weak that they can be neglected.
