An Innovative K-Anonymity Privacy-Preserving Algorithm to Improve Data Availability in the Context of Big Data

The development of technologies such as big data and blockchain has brought convenience to life,but at the same time,privacy and security issues are becoming more and more prominent.The K-anonymity algorithm is an effective and low computational complexity privacy-preserving algorithm that can safeguard users’privacy by anonymizing big data.However,the algorithm currently suffers from the problem of focusing only on improving user privacy while ignoring data availability.In addition,ignoring the impact of quasi-identified attributes on sensitive attributes causes the usability of the processed data on statistical analysis to be reduced.Based on this,we propose a new K-anonymity algorithm to solve the privacy security problem in the context of big data,while guaranteeing improved data usability.Specifically,we construct a new information loss function based on the information quantity theory.Considering that different quasi-identification attributes have different impacts on sensitive attributes,we set weights for each quasi-identification attribute when designing the information loss function.In addition,to reduce information loss,we improve K-anonymity in two ways.First,we make the loss of information smaller than in the original table while guaranteeing privacy based on common artificial intelligence algorithms,i.e.,greedy algorithm and 2-means clustering algorithm.In addition,we improve the 2-means clustering algorithm by designing a mean-center method to select the initial center of mass.Meanwhile,we design the K-anonymity algorithm of this scheme based on the constructed information loss function,the improved 2-means clustering algorithm,and the greedy algorithm,which reduces the information loss.Finally,we experimentally demonstrate the effectiveness of the algorithm in improving the effect of 2-means clustering and reducing information loss.

Effects of acid mine drainage on photochemical and biological degradation of dissolved organic matter in karst river water

Dissolved organic matter(DOM)can be removed or transformed by photochemical and biological processes,producing the negative effect of transforming organic carbon into inorganic carbon,which plays a vital role in the karst carbon cycle.However,acid mine drainage(AMD)will affect this process,so the degradation of DOM in karst river water(KRW)needs to be studied in this context.In this study,to reveal the evolution processes of DOM under photochemical and biological conditions in AMD-impacted KRW,AMD and KRW were mixed in different ratios under conditions of visible light irradiation(VL),biodegradation(BD),ultraviolet irradiation(UV)and ultraviolet irradiation+biodegradation(UV+BD).The average DOC concentrations in samples after mixing AMD and KRW in different proportions decreased significantly(by 23%)in UV+BD,which was 1.2–1.4 times higher than under the other conditions and would lead to a significant release of inorganic carbon.Further analysis of the fluorescence parameters via parallel factor analysis(PARAFAC)revealed that the DOM fluorescence components in AMD comprised mainly protein-like substances derived from autochthonous components,while the DOM fluorescence components in KRW were mainly humic-like substances with both autochthonous and allochthonous sources.Therefore,AMD could promote both the photochemical and biological degradation of DOM in karst receiving streams,resulting in the conversion of DOC to inorganic carbon.The results showed that the synergistic effects of UV+BD and AMD accelerated the degradation of DOM and the release of inorganic carbon in KRW,thus affecting the stability of the karst carbon cycle.

Circadian disturbance induces erectile dysfunction by impairing endothelial function

In order to explore the impact of circadian disturbance on erectile function,we randomly divided 24 adult male rats into groups of control(light on at 8:00 a.***.and off at 8:00 p.m.),dark/dark(DD;constant dark),light/light(LL;constant light),and shift dark/light(DL;light off at 8:00 a.***.and on at 8:0o p.m.).Four weeks later,erectile function was measured and corpora cavernosa were harvested for analysis.The maximum intracavernous pressure(mlcP)and mCP/mean arterial pressure(MAP)ratio in the DD,LL,and DL groups were significantly lower than that in the control group.The LL and DL groups showed significantly attenuated endothelial nitric oxide synthase(eNOS),while DD,LL,and DL showed reduced neuronal nitric oxide synthase(nNOS)at both mRNA and protein levels.The production of nitric oxide(NO)and cyclic guanosinemonophosphate(cGMP)was inhibited by altered light/dark cycles to varying degrees.Circadian disturbance impaired endothelial function and contributed to erectile dysfunction.For the core circadian elements,mRNA expression of circadian locomotor output cycles kaput(Clock)and brain/muscle aryl-hydrocarbon receptor nuclear translocator-like protein 1(Bmal1)was elevated in the DL group,but their protein expression was not significantly changed.DD,LL,and DL increased period 1(Per1)and Per3 levels,while LL and DL increased PER1 levels.No significant difference was found for Per2levels,and PER2 and PER3 concentrations were not significantly changed.Moreover,LL and DL significantly increased cryptochrome-1(CRY1)and CRY2 at both mRNA and protein levels.The altered light/dark rat model showed that circadian disturbance contributed to erectile dysfunction probably by impairing endothelial function.Meanwhile,the core circadian elements were detected in the corpora cavernosa,but these were disrupted.However,which circadian element regulates erectile function and how it works need further analysis.

The important role of immunogenic cell death(ICD)in many tumors is increasingly being discovered.However,its mechanisms and potential as a biomarker and therapeutic target in glioblastoma(GBM)have not been well studied.We obtained GBM samples from the Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)and Gene Expression Omnibus(GEO)databases,as well as the immunotherapy cohort from the IMvigor210 study.We used unsupervised clustering to obtain two ICDrelated clusters,corresponding to the ICD-low and ICD-high subtypes respectively,and the tumor immune microenvironment and prognosis of the two subtypes were significantly different.

Effect of rare earth on primary carbides in H13 die steel and their addition method:a review

Larger-sized primary carbides lead to stress concentration during the application of H13 hot-work die steel,resulting in microcracks and fatigue failure.Rare earth was usually added to modify the carbides and inclusions.The existing literature is reviewed on the effect of rare earth on primary carbides in H13 steel.A comprehensive review on the effect of rare earth on the characteristics of primary carbides,i.e.,number,size,morphology,and thermal stability in H13 steel,was done.The precipitation mechanism and nucleation of primary carbides with rare earth were summarized.The position and form of rare earth in steel and their effects on alloying elements segregation were reviewed.The addition techniques of rare earth in H13 steel were compared,and the prospects for other uncommon rare earth and emerging technology were present.Based on the current references,it can be known that adding rare earth facilitated refined and dispersed primary carbides.The size of primary carbides would be reduced,and their morphology would be improved because the rare earth inclusions formed in H13 steel can act as nucleation cores forγ-Fe orδ-Fe,refining the dendritic structure.Besides,the number of primary carbides at grain boundaries would be significantly reduced.However,rare earth had little impact on thermal stability.The nucleation of primary carbides tended to be inhibited due to the modification of inclusions by rare earth which were likely to be nucleation cores for primary carbides.Rare earth had been reported to affect the mechanism and process of primary carbide precipitation.Additionally,the addition of rare earth can inhibit the segregation of alloying elements and carbon diffusion by calculation.Thus,laboratory experiments and theoretical calcu-lations need to be conducted to study the states and evolution of rare earth steels.

Diffusion of nanochannel-confined knot along a tensioned polymer

The knots frequently occur in biopolymer and their diffusion plays an active role in the gene regulation.In this work,Langevin dynamics simulations were carried out to detect the diffusion behaviours of a knot along a tensioned polymer in different spatial constraints.The polymer accommodating a knot was tethered to two macrospheres to block the unravelling of the knot.As a result,the curves for the diffusion coefficients of the knot with different bending stiffness as a function of the tension in different spatial constraints were obtained.In the space without constraints or with weak constraints,the corresponding curves for the knot with relatively large bending stiffness exhibited two turnover behaviours.On the contrary,for the knot with relatively small bending stiffness,the diffusion coefficients were monotonically reduced with increasing tension.However,in a space with strong constraints,all the curves showed one turnover behaviour regardless of the bending stiffness.The turnover behaviours divided the curves into different regimes,and the dominant diffusion mechanisms in the regimes,namely,knot-region breathing,self-reptation,and internal friction,were clearly identified.The effective friction coefficientsξof the knots with 3_(1),4_(1),5_(1) and 5_(2) types as a function of the knot size N at a fixed tension were well fitted by the relationξ∝N.The effective friction coefficients of the knots at relatively large tension f>3 sharply increased with the knot complexity,which is not dependent on the spatial constraints.By contrast,the values of these coefficients at relatively small tension f≤3 were remarkably dependent on the spatial constraints.Our work not only provides valuable simulation results to assist the understanding of the diffusion of DNA knot,but also highlights the single-molecule design for the manipulation of DNA knots in future.

BACKGROUND Autoimmune hepatitis(AIH)and primary biliary cholangitis(PBC)are two common clinical autoimmune liver diseases,and some patients have both diseases;this feature is called AIH-PBC overlap syndrome.Autoimmune thyroid disease(AITD)is the most frequently overlapping extrahepatic autoimmune disease.Immunoglobulin(IgG)4-related disease is an autoimmune disease recognized in recent years,characterized by elevated serum IgG4 levels and infiltration of IgG4-positive plasma cells in tissues.CASE SUMMARY A 68-year-old female patient was admitted with a history of right upper quadrant pain,anorexia,and jaundice on physical examination.Laboratory examination revealed elevated liver enzymes,multiple positive autoantibodies associated with liver and thyroid disease,and imaging and biopsy suggestive of pancreatitis,hepatitis,and PBC.A diagnosis was made of a rare and complex overlap syndrome of AIH,PBC,AITD,and IgG4-related disease.Laboratory features improved on treatment with ursodeoxycholic acid,methylprednisolone,and azathioprine.CONCLUSION This case highlights the importance of screening patients with autoimmune diseases for related conditions.

Assessing recent recurrence after hepatectomy for hepatitis Brelated hepatocellular carcinoma by a predictive model based on sarcopenia

BACKGROUND Sarcopenia may be associated with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)following hepatectomy.But traditional single clinical variables are still insufficient to predict recurrence.We still lack effective prediction models for recent recurrence(time to recurrence5 cm(HR=2.222,95%CI:1.285-3.842,P<0.05),and hepatitis B virus DNA level≥2000 IU/mL(HR=2.1,95%CI:1.407-3.135,P<0.05)were independent risk factors associated with postoperative recurrence of HCC.Based on the sarcopenia to assess the RFS model of hepatectomy with hepatitis B-related liver cancer disease(SAMD)was established combined with other the above risk factors.The area under the curve of the SAMD model was 0.782(95%CI:0.705-0.858)in the training cohort(sensitivity 81%,specificity 63%)and 0.773(95%CI:0.707-0.838)in the validation cohort.Besides,a SAMD score≥110 was better to distinguish the high-risk group of postoperative recurrence of HCC.CONCLUSION Sarcopenia is associated with recent recurrence after hepatectomy for hepatitis B-related HCC.A nutritional status-based prediction m

BACKGROUND Sleep deprivation is a prevalent issue that impacts cognitive function.Although numerous neuroimaging studies have explored the neural correlates of sleep loss,inconsistencies persist in the reported results,necessitating an investigation into the consistent brain functional changes resulting from sleep loss.AIM To establish the consistency of brain functional alterations associated with sleep deprivation through systematic searches of neuroimaging databases.Two metaanalytic methods,signed differential mapping(SDM)and activation likelihood estimation(ALE),were employed to analyze functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI)data.METHODS A systematic search performed according to PRISMA guidelines was conducted across multiple databases through July 29,2023.Studies that met specific inclusion criteria,focused on healthy subjects with acute sleep deprivation and reported whole-brain functional data in English were considered.A total of 21 studies were selected for SDM and ALE meta-analyses.RESULTS Twenty-one studies,including 23 experiments and 498 subjects,were included.Compared to pre-sleep deprivation,post-sleep deprivation brain function was associated with increased gray matter in the right corpus callosum and decreased activity in the left medial frontal gyrus and left inferior parietal lobule.SDM revealed increased brain functional activity in the left striatum and right central posterior gyrus and decreased activity in the right cerebellar gyrus,left middle frontal gyrus,corpus callosum,and right cuneus.CONCLUSION This meta-analysis consistently identified brain regions affected by sleep deprivation,notably the left medial frontal gyrus and corpus callosum,shedding light on the neuropathology of sleep deprivation and offering insights into its neurological impact.

Effects of thinning on the understory light environment of different stands and the photosynthetic performance and growth of the reforestation species Phoebe bournei

Light levels determine regeneration in stands and a key concern is how to regulate the light environment of different stand types to the requirements of the understory.In this study,we selected three stands typical in south China(a Cryptomeria japonica plantation,a Quercus acutissima plantation,and a mixed stand of both)and three thinning intensities to determine the best understory light environ-ment for 3-year-old Phoebe bournei seedlings.The canopy structure,understory light environment,and photosynthe-sis and growth indicators were assessed following thin-ning.Thinning improved canopy structure and understory light availability of each stand;species composition was the reason for differences in the understory light environ-ment.Under the same thinning intensity,the mixed stand had the greatest light radiation and most balanced spectral composition.P.bournei photosynthesis and growth were closely related to the light environment;all three stands required heavy thinning to create an effective and sustained understory light environment.In a suitable understory light environment,the efficiency of light interception,absorption,and use by seedlings was enhanced,resulting in a higher carbon assimilation the main limiting factor was stomatal conductance.As a shade-avoidance signal,red/far-red radia-tion is a critical factor driving changes in photosynthesis and growth of P.bournei seedlings,and a reduction increased light absorption and use capacity and height:diameter ratios.The growth advantage transformed from diameter to height,enabling seedlings to access more light.Our findings suggest that the regeneration of shade-tolerant species such as P.bournei could be enhanced if a targeted approach to thinning based on stand type was adopted.
