Sterilization Effect of Cooking Process for guilin Rice Noodles Based on Heat Conduction Model

guilin rice noodles, a unique cuisine from guilin, Guangxi, is renowned both domestically and internationally as one of the top ten “guilin Classics”. Utilizing a heat conduction model, this study explores the effectiveness of the cooking process in sterilizing guilin rice noodles before consumption. The model assumes that a large pot is filled with boiling water which is maintained at a constant high temperature heat resource through continuous gentle heating. And the room temperature is set as the initial temperature for the preheating process and the final temperature for the cooling process. The objective is to assess whether the cooking process achieves satisfactory sterilization results. The temperature distribution function of rice noodle with time is analytically obtained using the separation of variables method in the three-dimensional cylindrical coordinate system. Meanwhile, the thermal diffusion coefficient of guilin rice noodles is obtained in terms of Riedel’ theory. By analyzing the elimination characteristics of Pseudomonas cocovenenans subsp. farinofermentans, this study obtains the optimal time required for effective sterilization at the core of guilin rice noodles. The results show that the potential Pseudomonas cocovenenans subsp. farinofermentans will be completely eliminated through continuously preheating more than 31 seconds during the cooking process before consumption. This study provides a valuable reference of food safety standards in the cooking process of guilin rice noodles, particularly in ensuring the complete inactivation of potentially harmful strains such as Pseudomonas cocovenenans subsp. farinofermentans.

Spatiotemporal characteristics of GNSS-derived precipitable water vapor during heavy rainfall events in guilin,China

Precipitable Water Vapor(PWV),as an important indicator of atmospheric water vapor,can be derived from Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS)observations with the advantages of high precision and all-weather ***-derived PWV with a high spatiotemporal resolution has become an important source of observations in mete-orology,particularly for severe weather conditions,for water vapor is not well sampled in the current meteorological observing *** this study,an empirical atmospheric weighted mean temperature(Tm)model for guilin is estab-lished using the radiosonde data from 2012 to ***,the observations at 11 GNSS stations in guilin are used to investigate the spatiotemporal features of GNSS-derived PWV under the heavy rainfalls from June to July *** results show that the new Tm model in guilin has better performance with the mean bias and Root Mean Square(RMS)of−0.51 and 2.12 K,respectively,compared with other widely used ***,the GNSS PWV estimates are validated with the data at guilin radiosonde *** agreements are found between GNSS-derived PWV and radiosonde-derived PWV with the mean bias and RMS of−0.9 and 3.53 mm,***,an investigation on the spatiotemporal characteristics of GNSS PWV during heavy rainfalls in guilin is *** is shown that variations of PWV retrieved from GNSS have a direct relationship with the in situ rainfall measurements,and the PWV increases sharply before the arrival of a heavy rainfall and decreases to a stable state after the cease of the *** also reveals the moisture variation in several regions of guilin during a heavy rainfall,which is significant for the moni-toring of rainfalls and weather forecast.

Preliminary Investigation on the Causes of Odd Vibration of Buildings in guilin City——a Study on the Resonance between Buildings and the Underlying Soil Layer

A residential building in guilin City, China, underwent an up-and-down vibration with an amplitude of 2 cm. By eliminating several causes such as earthquake, wind and construction, in combination with the unique karst geological conditions of guilin, it was inferred that the effect of turbulent karst water is the main contributor to the occurrence of this vibration. Therefore, a geophysical survey was undertaken on the vibration zone and its surroundings. The resutls suggest that the soil in the upper part of the karst grooves shows conspicuous traces of disturbance and the water content has low resistance. A comprehensive analysis indicates that there is a karst strong runoff zone beneath the area. According to the water level and water temperature data collected automatically by the instrument, it can be concluded that the groundwater level had changed significantly twice during this period, so it was determined that the denudation of groundwater strong runoff causes the overlying soil layer to collapse, forming a soil-water soft-flow material with mixed phase. Since the building in this area was supported by friction piles, the groundwater-soil soft-flow material with mixed phase has intense plasticity, and the up-and-down vibration resulted in the change of the friction piles, which caused the up-and-down vibration of the building structure.

EARLY CARBONIFEROUS HETEROCORALLIA FROM guilin AREA IN GUANGXI

Samples of the Heterocorallia described in this note were collected from Thysanophylloides zone of the Huangjin Member of Datang Stage, Lower Carboniferous in Mopanshan, guilin, Guangxi. Here Heterocorallia is abundant. It consists of 3 genera 5 species (including 4 new species), 1 subspecies and 1 indeterminate species. At present these are at the lowest horizon occurring at the Oatang Stage of the Carboniferous of China.

Oxygen and carbon isotopic characteristics of rainwater,drip water and present speleothems in a cave in guilin area,and their environmental meanings

The studies of the oxgen and carbon isotopes of the rainwater in guilin area, the drip water and the present carbonate deposit in Panlong cave of guilin show that: (i) as to the general characteristics of the oxygen isotopes of the rainwater within a year and between years, the δ18O values decrease with an increase of air temperature and the rainfall, and the correlation between δ18O values and the mean monthly air temperature is much better than that between δ18O values and the rainfall, and the δ18O values of the rainwater during the summer monsoon are much smaller than those during winter monsoon; (ii) δ18O values of the drip water have a quite good correlation with the δ18O values of the rainwater in the same period; (iii) when the conditions are appropriate, δ13C can be used as an environmental proxy, that is, the smaller δ13C of speleothems is, the larger the proportion of C3 plants is and the more plentiful the rainfall is. On the contrary, C4plants may be prevailing or the environment may be a stony desert caused by climate changes or human activity.
