A general situation of the sugar beet industry and business in the European Union(EU) has been presented. It included the quotas of sugar production there, its prices and changes on the market. The latest sugar production data in the world was also given. The main companies carrying out activities on the Polish sugar and sugar beet seeds were also *** circumstances after liberating the sugar market in the EU in October, 2017, were also presented. Nowadays, Poland has been a great potential country for further technological progress in agricultural holdings and growing performance in sugar processing and production industry. As food export from Poland increases, it will be followed by increasing use of sugar. Examples are given to improve sugar beet productivity.

The chemical control technologies of southern rice black-streaked dwarf disease in hybrid rice were studied in Rongshui County,Guangxi,through a combination of investigation,observation and *** treatments were set up,namely,no water,shallow water and deep water,and each of which had a treatment area of 67 m^(2).Each treatment was sprayed once with 40 g of 200 million/g Bacillus subtilis wettable powder and 20-30 g of 25%pymetrozine wettable powder per 667 m^(2) in a mixture with 30 kg of *** the day of spraying,100 diseased rice hills in each treatment were marked for field *** test results showed that the control of southern rice black-streaked dwarf disease should be done by draining the field water and spraying the mixture of *** and pymetrozine evenly,and a better effect can be achieved by keeping the field moist for 6-7 d after spraying.

To ascertain the influence of wheat stubble management options and chemical weed control methods on weed growth and productivity of dry direct-seeded fine rice, a two years' field study was undertaken at the Agronomic Research Farm, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan in 2013 and 2014. Different wheat stubble management methods, viz., incorporation, burning and retention were executed during seed-bed preparation. While, herbicide treatments comprised of a weed check, weed free, pendimethalin followed by tank mixture of fenoxaprop p-ethyl+ethoxysulfuron ethyl, and bispyribac sodium followed by tank mixture of fenoxaprop p-ethyl+ethoxysulfuron ethyl. Results revealed that weed control efficacy of both herbicide treatments ranged from 84 to 94%. Herbicide treatments significantly reduced weed density(88–90%) and dry weight(86–88%), while improved the rice growth attributes compared with weed check. Application of bispyribac sodium followed by tank mixture of fenoxaprop p-ethyl+ethoxysulfuron ethyl in stubble retention recorded 226 and 273% increase in kernel yield over weedy check in 2013 and 2014, respectively. In stubble incorporation, pendimethalin followed by tank mixture of fenoxaprop p-ethyl+ethoxysulfuron ethyl was more effective in increasing(256–293%) rice yields over weedy check. Among different treatment combinations, the maximum net benefits(1 397.49^(–1) 472.22 USD ha^(–1)), net returns(636–700 USD ha^(–1)), benefit cost ratio(1.77^(–1).83) and marginal rate of return(2 187–2 330%) were recorded with the application of bispyribac sodium followed by fenoxaprop p-ethyl+ethoxysulfuron ethyl in stubble retention. In crux, application of bispyribac sodium followed by tank mixture of fenoxaprop p-ethyl+ethoxysulfuron ethyl in stubble retention is efficient approach to control weeds, and get maximum rice productivity and net economic returns under dry seeded system.

This research was designed to assess the changes in anthocyanin content in grape skins of Vitis amurensis and to explore m RNA transcriptions of 11 structural genes（PAL,CHS3, CHI1, F3H2, F30 H, F3050 H, DFR, LDOX, UFGT,OMT and GST） related to anthocyanin biosynthesis during grape berry development, by the use of HPLC-MS/MS and real-time Q-PCR analysis. Accumulation of anthocyanins began at veraison, continued throughout the later berry development and reached a peak at maturity. Veraison is the time when the berries turn from green to purple. Expression of PAL, CHI1, and LDOX were up-regulated from 2 to4 weeks after flowering（WAF）, down-regulated from6 WAF to veraison, whereas DFR was up-regulated at8 WAF, and then up-regulated from veraison to ***3, F3050 H, UFGT, GST, and OMT were down-regulated from 2 WAF to veraison, and then up-regulated from veraison to maturity. The transcriptional expressions of the11 structural genes also showed positive correlations with the anthocyanin content from veraison to maturity. Positive correlations were also observed between OMT transcriptional level and the content of methoxyl-anthocyanins, and between F3050 H transcriptional level and the content of delphinidin anthocyanins. F3H2 and F30 H expression was up-regulated at 2 WAF. F3H2 expression was down-regulated from 4 WAF to veraison and then up-regulated again from veraison to maturity. F30 H expression was down-regulated at 4 WAF and then up-regulated again from 6 WAF to maturity. F30 H transcriptional level was correlated positively with the cyanidin anthocyanin concentration from veraison to maturity. These results indicate that the onset of anthocyanin synthesis during berry development coincides with a coordinated increase in the expression of a number of genes in the anthocyanin biosynthetic pathway.

This paper probes on one of the famous parables of Jesus-the Wheat and Weeds, and demonstrates some implied meaning and morals connoted in it. Through an interesting contrast between the calm restraint of the householder and high anxi ety of his slaves, this parable suggests that people should stay calm and learn from God to be tolerate and lenient religiously to"let wheat and weeds grow together until the harvest". Meanwhile, God drops a subtle hint to seed wheat positively in stead of sug gesting people to remove weeds negatively.

The follow up time is an important parameter for estimating the entry capacity of roundabouts. However, its variability and contributing factors have long been ignored in the literatures. In this study, 171 follow up samples and contributing factors （traffic volume, vehicle position, waiting vehicles behind, vehicle type, and drivers＇ gender） are collected at a roundabout in Pacific Pines, Australia. It is found that the follow up time is indeed significantly affected by traffic volume, waiting vehicles behind, vehicle type, and drivers＇ gender. In order to establish the relationship between the follow up time and its contributing factors, an inverse Gaussian regression model is further developed. This relationship could be applied to estimate the entry capacities by taking into account the variability of follow up samples. According to the model, the traffic volume and vehicle types are the most important contributing factors.

A hybrid approach of DEA （data envelopment analysis） and TOPSIS （technique for order performance （preference） by similarity to ideal solution） is proposed for multiple criteria decision analysis in emergency management. Two DEA-based optimization models are constructed to facilitate identifying parameter information regarding criterion weights and quantifying qualitative criteria in TOPSIS. An emergency management case study utilizing data from the Emergency Management Australia （EMA） Disasters Database is provided to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed analysis procedure.
