Multi-window transparency and fast–slow light switching in a quadratically coupled optomechanical system assisted with three-level atoms

We study theoretically the features of the output field of a quadratically coupled optomechanical system assisted with three-level atoms. In this system, the atoms interact with the cavity field and are driven by a classical field, and the cavity is driven by a strong coupling field and a weak signal field. We find that there exists a multi-window transparency phenomenon. The width of the transparent windows can be adjusted by controlling the system parameters, including the number of the atoms, the powers of the lasers driving the atoms and driving the cavity, and the environment temperature. We also find that a tunable switch from fast light to slow light can be realized in this system.

We investigate the effects of the Casimir force on the output properties of a hybrid optomechanical system. In this system, a nanosphere is fixed on the movable-mirror side of the standard optomechanical system, and the nanosphere interacts with the movable-mirror via the Casimir force, which depends on the mirror–sphere separation. In the presence of the probe and control fields, we analyze the transmission coefficient and the group delay of the field-component with the frequency of the probe field. We also study the transmission intensity of the field-component with the frequency of a newly generated four-wave mixing(FWM) field. By manipulating the Casimir force, we find that a tunable slow light can be realized for the field-component with the frequency of the probe field, and the intensity spectrum of the FWM field can be enhanced and shifted effectively.

Semen from 5210 sperm bank donors was analyzed and trends in semen quality were evaluated at Shandong Human Sperm Bank between 2008 and 2014. After 2-7 days of abstinence, semen samples were collected. Measurements of semen volume, sperm concentration, sperm forward motility, and total sperm count were performed. There were significant declining trends in semen volume, sperm concentration, sperm forward motility, and total sperm count. Our results indicate that the quality of semen in this cohort of sperm donors had decreased during the study period.

The crystalline and amorphous regions were alternately arranged in the hard elastic polypropylene(PP)films with row-nucleated *** this work,their structure evolution during stretching and recovery at room temperature was followed and the elastic recovery mechanism was discussed by twice cyclic tensile *** the first stretching to 100%,the lamellae crystals are parallel separated and the intercrystallite crazing is formed at the first yield *** nano-cavities within the intercrystallite crazing appear when the strain reaches 20%.The strain-hardening process accompanies with the lamellae long period increasing and the intercrystallite crazing *** the secondary yield point,the lamellae cluster is further separated and more nano-cavities *** first and second recovery processes are complete *** recovery,firstly,the energy elasticity provided by nano-cavities surface tension drives the shrinkage of material,and then the entropy elasticity related to amorphous chain relaxation plays a leading role when the strain is smaller than the secondary yield *** elastic recovery process of hard elastic material is the co-contribution of energy elasticity and entropy *** work gives a clearer recognition about the source of hard elastic property and the role of amorphous region in material's deformation.

We propose a scheme for entangling two nanomechanical oscillators by Coulomb interaction in an optomechanical system. We find that the steady-state entanglement of two charged nanomechanical oscillators can be obtained when the coupling between them is stronger than a critical value which relies on the detuning. Remarkably, the degree of entanglement can be controlled by the Coulomb interaction and the frequencies of the two charged Oscillators.

We study the quadrature squeezing and entanglement in a cavity optomechanical system (COMS). In our model, a flying atom sequentially passes through and interacts with the COMS and a Ramsey pulse zone, and subsequently the atomic state is detected. In this way, the photon-phonon squeezing and entanglement can be generated. The dynamic evolution of the squeezing and entanglement in the presence of losses are examined by using the master equation method.

We propose a novel scheme for generating the entanglement of two oscillating mirrors in an optomechanical system via a flying atom. In this scheme, a two-level atom, in an arbitrary superposition state, passes through an optomechanical system with two oscillating cavity-mirrors, and then its states are detected. In this way, we can generate the entangled states of the two oscillating mirrors. We derive the analytical expressions of the entangled states and make numerical calculations. We find that the entanglement of the two oscillating mirrors can be controlled by the initial state of the atom, the optomechanical coupling strength, and the coupling strength between the atom and the cavity field. We investigate the dynamics of the system with dissipations and discuss the experimental feasibility.

The vapor-liquid ejector is a simply flow device and driven by thermal energy. In this paper, a modified mathematical model of the vapor-liquid ejector is proposed, and the validation shows good agreements with the experimental data. A study is carried out with six organic working fluids, namely R1233 zd(E), R1336 mzz(Z), R236 ea, R245 ca, R245 fa and R365 mfc. The influences of the entrainment ratio, the area ratio, the superheating at the vapor nozzle inlet, the subcooling at the liquid nozzle inlet, and the pressures at these inlets on the pressure lifting are parametrically investigated. An increase in the subcooling leads to the great increasing of pressure lifting and the superheating has slight effect on the pressure lifting, whereas others have the opposite tendency. The studies of the pressures and temperatures at the typical locations inside the vapor-liquid ejector are further conducted by using R1336 mzz(Z). The results show that the above parameters have great influence on these pressures and temperatures inside except that the pressures are insignificantly impacted by the superheating, and the temperatures are negligibly affected by the area ratio. R1336 mzz(Z) is recommended as a good working fluid for the vapor-liquid ejector.

Environmental factors such as diet and lifestyle can influence the health of both mothers and ***,its transgenerational transmission and underlying mechanisms remain largely ***,using a maternal lactation-period low-protein diet(LPD)mouse model,we show that maternal LPD during lactation causes decreased survival and stunted growth,significantly reduces ovulation and litter size,and alters the gut microbiome in the female LPD-F1 *** transcriptome of LPD-F1 metaphase II(MII)oocytes shows that differentially expressed genes are enriched in female pregnancy and multiple metabolic ***,maternal LPD causes early stunted growth and impairs metabolic health,which is transmitted over two *** methylome alteration of LPD-F1 oocytes can be partly transmitted to the F2 ***,our results reveal that LPD during lactation transgenerationally affects offspring health,probably via oocyte epigenetic changes.
