In recent years, various companies have started to shift their data services from traditional data centers to the cloud. One of the major motivations is to save on operational costs with the aid of cloud elasticity. This paper discusses an emerging need from financial services to reduce the incidence of idle servers retaining very few user connections, without disconnecting them from the server side. This paper considers this need as a bi-objective online load balancing problem. A neural network based scalable policy is designed to route user requests to varied numbers of servers for the required elasticity. An evolutionary multi-objective training framework is proposed to optimize the weights of the policy. Not only is the new objective of idleness reduced by over 130% more than traditional industrial solutions, but the original load balancing objective itself is also slightly improved. Extensive simulations with both synthetic and real-world data help reveal the detailed applicability of the proposed method to the emergent problem of reducing idleness in financial services.

To the Editor:Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction(HFpEF)is a clinical entity characterized by impaired diastolic *** recently,there have been few studies directly evaluating how volume status impacts future cardiac events for patients with *** supporting the application of spironolactone in HFpEF is mainly derived from the Treatment of Preserved Cardiac Function Heart Failure with an Aldosterone Antagonist(TOPCAT)*** though primary analysis of the trial reached a neutral result,subgroup and subsequent post hoc analyses have confirmed its efficacy in selected groups of patients,suggesting that identifying the potential subgroups of patients who would benefit from spironolactone treatment is important.[1]data regarding the impact of congestion status on the efficacy of spironolactone in HFpEF are lacking.

Disinfection by chloramination produces toxic byproducts and the difference in toxicity of reclaimed and drinking water treated by chloramination remains *** study investigated cytotoxic effects at the same concentrations of dissolved organic matter and showed that chloraminated effluent organic matter(EfOM)induced 1.7 times higher cytotoxicity than chloraminated natural organic matter(NOM)applied to simulate drinking *** EfOM induced more reactive nitrogen species than chloraminated NOM,and chloraminated EfOM and NOM induced similar and higher levels of reactive oxygen species than the negative control,***,intracellular macromolecule damage indicated by DNA/RNA damage marker 8–hydroxy-(deoxy)guanosine and the intracellular protein carbonyl concentration induced by chloraminated EfOM was higher and slightly more than that induced by chloraminated NOM,*** data were consistent with the effects on cell physiological *** cycle arrest mainly occurred in G2 phase by chloraminated EfOM and *** apoptotic cells,which could return to normal,increased upon exposure to high concentrations of chloraminated EfOM and ***,necrotic cells were significantly increased from 0.5%to 2.5%when the concentration increased from 20-to 60-fold chloraminated EfOM,but were not obviously changed by chloraminated *** results indicated that the comprehensive intracellular changes induced by toxic substances in chloraminated EfOM were more irreversible and induced more cell death than chloraminated NOM.

Stacking is the process of overlaying inferred species potential distributions for multiple species based on outputs of bioclimatic envelope models(BEMs).The approach can be used to investigate patterns and processes of species *** data limitations on individual species distributions are inevitable,but how do they affect inferences of patterns and processes of species richness?We investigate the influence of different data sources on estimated species richness gradients in *** fitted BEMs using species distributions data for 334 bird species obtained from(1)global range maps,(2)regional checklists,(3)museum records and surveys,and(4)citizen science data using presence-only(Mahalanobis distance),presence-background(MAXENT),and presence–absence(GAM and BRT)*** species predictions were stacked to generate species richness ***,we show that different data sources and BEMs can generate spatially varying gradients of species *** environmental predictors that best explained species distributions also differed between data *** using citizen-based data had the highest accuracy,whereas those using range data had the lowest *** richness patterns estimated by GAM and BRT models were robust to data *** multiple data sets exist for the same region and taxa,we advise that explicit treatments of uncertainty,such as sensitivity analyses of the input data,should be conducted during the process of modeling.

As the brightest gamma-ray burst ever observed,GRB 221009A provided a precious opportunity to explore spectral line *** this article,we performed a comprehensive spectroscopy analysis of GRB 221009A jointly with GECAM-C and Fermi/GBM data to search for emission and absorption *** the first time we investigated the line feature throughout this GRB including the most bright part where many instruments suffered problems,and identified prominent emission lines in multiple time *** central energy of the Gaussian emission line evolves from about 37 to 6 MeV,with a nearly constant ratio(about 10%)between the line width and central ***,we find that both the central energy and the energy flux of the emission line evolve with time as a power law decay with power law index of–1 and–2,*** suggest that the observed emission lines most likely origin from the blue-shifted electron positron pair annihilation 511 ke V *** find that a standard high latitude emission scenario cannot fully interpret the observation,thus we propose that the emission line comes from some dense clumps with electron positron pairs traveling together with the *** this scenario,we can use the emission line to directly,for the first time,measure the bulk Lorentz factor of the jet(Γ)and reveal its time evolution(i.e.,Γ~t^(-1))during the prompt ***,we find that the flux of the annihilation line in the co-moving frame keeps *** discoveries of the spectral line features shed new and important lights on the physics of GRB and relativistic jet.

Ethereum, currently the most widely utilized smart contracts platform, anchors the security of myriad smartcontracts upon its own robustness. Its foundational peer-to-peer network facilitates a dependable node connectionmechanism, whereas an efficient data-sharing protocol constitutes as the bedrock of Blockchain network *** this paper, we propose NodeHunter, an Ethereum network detector implemented through the application ofsimulation technology, which is capable of aggregating all node records within the network and the interconnectednessbetween them. Utilizing this connection information, NodeHunter can procure more comprehensive insightsfor network status analysis compared to preceding detection methodologies. Throughout a three-month period ofunbroken surveillance of the Ethereum network, we obtained an excess of two million node records along with overone hundred million node acquaintances. Analysis of the gathered data revealed that an alarming 49% or more ofthese node records were maliciously forged.

Due to the restricted satellite payloads in LEO mega-constellation networks(LMCNs),remote sensing image analysis,online learning and other big data services desirably need onboard distributed processing(OBDP).In existing technologies,the efficiency of big data applications(BDAs)in distributed systems hinges on the stable-state and low-latency links between worker ***,LMCNs with high-dynamic nodes and long-distance links can not provide the above conditions,which makes the performance of OBDP hard to be intuitively *** bridge this gap,a multidimensional simulation platform is indispensable that can simulate the network environment of LMCNs and put BDAs in it for performance *** STK's APIs and parallel computing framework,we achieve real-time simulation for thousands of satellite nodes,which are mapped as application nodes through software defined network(SDN)and container *** elaborate the architecture and mechanism of the simulation platform,and take the Starlink and Hadoop as realistic examples for *** results indicate that LMCNs have dynamic end-to-end latency which fluctuates periodically with the constellation *** to ground data center networks(GDCNs),LMCNs deteriorate the computing and storage job throughput,which can be alleviated by the utilization of erasure codes and data flow scheduling of worker nodes.

BACKGROUND The glycemic control of children with type 1 diabetes(T1D)may be influenced by the economic status of their *** To investigate the association between parental economic status and blood glucose levels of children with T1D using a mobile health *** data from children with T1D in China's largest T1D online community,Tang-TangQuan■.Blood glucose levels were uploaded every three months and parental economic status was evaluated based on annual household *** were divided into three groups:Low-income(100000 yuan)(1 Yuan=0.145 United States Dollar approximately).Blood glucose levels were compared among the groups and associations were explored using Spearman’s correlation analysis and multivariable logistic *** From September 2015 to August 2022,1406 eligible children with T1D were included(779 female,55.4%).Median age was 8.1 years(Q1-Q3:4.6-11.6)and duration of T1D was 0.06 years(0.02-0.44).Participants were divided into three groups:Low-income(n=320),middle-income(n=724),and high-income(n=362).Baseline hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c)levels were comparable among the three groups(P=0.072).However,at month 36,the low-income group had the highest HbA1c levels(P=0.036).Within three years after registration,glucose levels increased significantly in the low-income group but not in the middle-income and high-income *** economic status was negatively correlated with pre-dinner glucose(r=-0.272,P=0.012).After adjustment for confounders,parental economic status remained a significant factor related to pre-dinner glucose levels(odds ratio=13.02,95%CI:1.99 to 126.05,P=0.002).CONCLUSION The blood glucose levels of children with T1D were negatively associated with parental economic *** is suggested that parental economic status should be taken into consideration in the management of T1D for children.

As a highly vascular eye part,the choroid is crucial in various eye disease ***,limited research has focused on the inner structure of the choroid due to the challenges in obtaining sufficient accurate label data,particularly for the choroidal ***,the existing direct choroidal vessel segmentation methods for the intelligent diagnosis of vascular assisted ophthalmic diseases are still unsatisfactory due to noise data,while the synergistic segmentation methods compromise vessel segmentation performance for the choroid layer segmentation *** cascaded structures grapple with error propagation during *** address these challenges,we propose a cascade learning segmentation method for the inner vessel structures of the choroid in this ***,we propose TransformerAssisted Cascade Learning Network(TACLNet)for choroidal vessel segmentation,which comprises a two-stage training strategy:pre-training for choroid layer segmentation and joint training for choroid layer and choroidal vessel *** also enhance the skip connection structures by introducing a multi-scale subtraction connection module designated as MSC,capturing differential and detailed information ***,we implement an auxiliary Transformer branch named ATB to integrate global features into the segmentation *** results exhibit that our method achieves the state-of-the-art performance for choroidal vessel ***,we further validate the significant superiority of the proposed method for retinal fluid segmentation in optical coherence tomography(OCT)scans on a publicly available *** these fully prove that our TACLNet contributes to the advancement of choroidal vessel segmentation and is of great significance for ophthalmic research and clinical application.
