Neuronal activity,synaptic transmission,and molecular changes in the basolateral amygdala play critical roles in fear ***(CYLD)is a deubiquitinase that negatively regulates the nuclear factor kappa-B *** is well studied in non-neuronal cells,yet underinvestigated in the brain,where it is highly *** studies have shown involvement of CYLD in the remodeling of glutamatergic synapses,neuroinflammation,fear memory,and anxiety-and autism-like ***,the precise role of CYLD in glutamatergic neurons is largely ***,we first proposed involvement of CYLD in cued fear *** next constructed transgenic model mice with specific deletion of Cyld from glutamatergic *** results show that glutamatergic CYLD deficiency exaggerated the expression of cued fear in only male ***,loss of CYLD in glutamatergic neurons resulted in enhanced neuronal activation,impaired excitatory synaptic transmission,and altered levels of glutamate receptors accompanied by over-activation of microglia in the basolateral amygdala of male ***,our study suggests a critical role of glutamatergic CYLD in maintaining normal neuronal,synaptic,and microglial *** may contribute,at least in part,to cued fear expression.

Evolving governance during health care reform in the United States and China

Governance of public hospitals has become an important consideration in China. Research is being conducted, consultants are being engaged, and new models are being tested to determine how a change in governance can positively affect health care reform. The United States is looked to as an example for hospital governance. Old principles and new trends for boards of directors of hospitals are discussed. Critical thought is given as to the governance principles that can be applied in China which will augment the changes taking place to make hospitals more autonomous under health care reform. Recommendations are made by the authors as to which of these principles and new methods should be considered to be adopted for China's public hospitals.

Human GSTs Polymorphisms in the Hakka Population of South China and Their associations with Family History of Several Chronic Diseases

Objective To investigate the associations of genetic polymorphisms in GSTs genes of the Hakka population of south China with family histories of certain chronic *** Five hundred and thirty‐nine healthy Hakka natives of Meizhou city of guangdong province in south China were *** genotypes of GSTM1,GSTT1,GSTP1,GSTM3,and GSTA1 were determined using PCR and restriction fragment length polymorphism *** observed polymorphisms were analyzed by Chi‐square and Hardy‐Weinberg equilibrium *** regression analysis was used to determine the associations of the distributions of GST genotypes with family history of certain chronic *** The distributions of polymorphisms in GSTP1,GSTM3,and GSTA1 conformed to the Hardy‐Weinberg *** to the Cantonese,the Hakka had a lower distribution of the GSTM3 deletion genotype （3.15% vs.11.9%）.A weak association was observed between the GSTM1 genetic polymorphism and family history of *** drinkers had a higher frequency of the null‐GSTM1 genotype,while smokers had a higher frequency of a variant GSTP1 *** The results suggest that the Hakka is a special and distinctive Han Chinese ethnic group with different GSTs genetic *** and drinking might be related to the distribution of GST genotypes.

HLA-DM Polymorphism and Risk of Trichloroethylene Induced Medicamentosa-like Dermatitis

Objective To establish the association between genetic polymorphisms of HLA-DMA and HLA-DMB and risk of developing trichloroethylene-induced medicamentosa-like dermatitis （TIMLD）. Methods Sixty-one cases were medically confirmed to have been affected with TIMLD and 60 controls were selected from exposed workers who were free from TIMLD The TIMLD cases and controls were similar in terms of age, sex, and duration of exposure. DNA was extracted both from the TIMLD cases and controls, HLA-DMA and HLA-DMB loci were amplified by using Touchdown PCR, and the alleles and genotypes were confirmed by restriction fragment length polymorphism （RFLP） and direct sequencing. Finally, the frequencies of HLA-DMA and HLA-DMB variants were compared between the two groups. Results The results showed that the frequency of HLA-DMA＊0101 and HLA-DMB＊0103 alleles was significantly increased in TIMLD patients than in controls （71.3% wv. 55.0% for HLA-DMA＊0101; P〈0.05）（11.5% vs. 3.3% for HLA-DMB＊0103; P〈0.05）. In addition, the frequency of HLA-DMA＊0102-＊0102 homozygous genotype was also significantly higher in the controls than in the patients （25.0% wv. 8.2%, P〈0.05）, whereas the frequency of heterozygous HLA-DMB ＊0101-＊0102 genotype was lower in the patients in comparison with the controls. Conclusion The polymorphisms of HLA-DM may be associated with the susceptibility to TIMLD.

Probing granular inhomogeneity of a particle-emitting source by imaging two-pion Bose–Einstein correlations

Using the source imaging technique in two-pion interferometry,we study the image of the hydrodynamic particle-emitting source with the HIJING initial conditions for relativistic heavy-ion collisions on an event-by-event *** is shown that the initial-state fluctuations may give rise to bumpy structures of the medium during hydrodynamical evolution,which affects the two-pion emission space and leads to a visible two-tiered shape in the source function imaged using the two-pion Bose–Einstein *** two-tiered shape can be understood within a similar but more analytic granular source model and is found to be closely related to the introduced quantity n,which characterizes the granular inhomogeneity of the *** fitting the imaged source function with a granular source parametrization,we extract the granular inhomogeneity of the hydrodynamic source,which is found to be sensitive to both the Gaussian smearing width of the HIJING initial condition and the centrality of the collisions.

Mechanical property and anisotropy of as-extruded Mg-Zn-Y-Mn alloys with different volume fraction of long-period stacking ordered(LPSO) phase

Effects of different volume fraction of long-period stacking ordered(LPSO) phase on the microstructure,mechanical property and anisotropy of the as-extruded Mg-xZn-yY-0.1Mn(x = 1 wt%, 2 wt%, 4 wt% and y = 2 wt%, 4 wt%, 8 wt%) alloys were studied by an optical microscope, a scanning electron microscope,texture analysis, a transmission electron microscope and tensile testing. The results reveal that the volume fraction of LPSO phase increases from ZW12 to ZW24 to ZW48 alloys with the elevating Zn and Y content but constant Y/Zn value, and the mechanical strength of the LPSO-containing Mg-Zn-Y-Mn system is gradually improved when increasing LPSO phases. With the highest volume fraction of LPSO phase, ZW48 alloy presents the highest ultimate tensile strength(UTS) of 427 MPa along the extrusion direction(ED) when compared with those of ZW12 alloy with the UTS of 307 MPa and ZW24 alloy with the UTS of 347 MPa. Moreover, the elongation ratio of ZW48 alloy is maintained to moderate 9.9%, which is also the highest among three studied alloys. On the other hand, texture analysis demonstrates that the basal texture of the a-Mg phase in the ZW48 alloy is significantly weakened by the generation of more LPSO phases. On the contrary, a high texture intensity of a-Mg phase and obvious mechanical anisotropy can be observed for the ZW12 alloy. However, mechanical anisotropy still exists in the ZW48 alloy containing massive LPSO phases, which is attributed primarily to the zonal distribution of large LPSO along the ED.
