Spatiotemporal Variations and Controls on Anthropogenic Heat Fluxes in 12 Selected Cities in the Eastern China

Spatiotemporal variations of anthropogenic heat flux(AHF)is reported to be associated with global ***,confined to the low spatial resolution of energy consumption statistical data,details of AHF was not well *** obtain high spatial resolution data of AHF,Defense Meteorological Satellite Program/Operational Linescan System(DMSP/OLS)nighttime light time-series product and Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer(MODIS)satellite monthly normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)product were applied to construct the human settlement *** on the spatial regression relationship between human settlement index and energy consumption data.A 1-km resolution dataset of AHF of 12 selected cities in the eastern China was *** least-squares(OLS)model was applied to detect the mechanism of spatial patterns of *** showed that industrial emission in selected cities of the eastern China was accountable for 63%of the total *** emission in megacities,such as Tianjin,Jinan,Qingdao,and Hangzhou,was most *** increasing speed in most areas in the chosen cities was quite *** growth or extremely high growth of AHF were located in central downtown *** Beijing,Shanghai,Guangzhou,Jinan,Hangzhou,Changzhou,Zhaoqing,and Jiangmen,a single kernel of AHF was *** influencing factors showed that precipitation,temperature,elevation,normalized different vegetation index,gross domestic product,and urbanization level were positive with ***,this investigation implied that urbanization level and economic development level might dominate the increasing of AHF and the spatial heterogeneousness of *** urbanization level or economic development level resulted in high increasing speeds of *** findings provide a novel way to reconstruct of AHF and scientific supports for energy management strategy development.

Effects of acid deposition on the avoidance behavior of Folsomia candida (Collembola, Isotomidae)

Excessive acid deposition causes soil acidification,and changes the soil microhabitat,thus affecting the survival and reproduction of soil *** candida(Collembola,Isotomidae),as a model organism,is widely used to assess the chemical toxicity in soil,and its avoidance response can indicate the environmental *** this study,we used Folsomia candida to assess the risks of acid deposition on soil *** pH(3.0,3.5,4.0,4.5,5.0,and 5.5)treatments were set up in petri dish experiments,and the avoidance behavior of Folsomia candida was measured after 12,24,and 48 h exposure to the pH *** results indicated that(1)both the exposure duration and pH level influenced avoidance behavior of collembolan.(2)After 12 h exposure,most of the individuals showed avoidance behavior but without significant differences among the treatments.(3)After 24 h exposure,significant avoidance behavior was observed at pH 3.0,3.5,and 4.0.(4)After 48 h exposure,avoidance behavior was found in all treatment conditions except for pH *** study clarified the direct responses of soil fauna to acid deposition,and indicated that both pH and length of exposure influenced the avoidance behavior of Folsomia *** the experimental period,the collembolan reacted negatively and showed consistent avoidance behavior at pH 3.0,3.5,and *** avoidance behavior was apparent between pH 4.5 and 5.0 and not observed at pH 5.5,indicating that the latter was the preferred pH environment.

Quantification of soluble epoxide hydrolase inhibitors in experimental and clinical samples using the nanobody-based ELISA

To ensure proper dosage of a drug,analytical quantification of it in biofluid is *** chromatography mass spectrometry(LC-MS)is the conventional method of choice as it permits accurate identification and ***,it requires expensive instrumentation and is not appropriate for bedside *** soluble epoxide hydrolase(sEH)inhibitors(EC5026 and TPPU)as examples,we report development of a nanobody-based enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)for such small molecules and its use to accurately quantify the drug chemicals in human *** optimized conditions,two nanobody-based ELISAs were successfully established for EC5026 and TPPU with low limits of detection of 0.085 ng/mL and 0.31 ng/mL,respectively,and two order of magnitude linear ranges with high precision and *** assay was designed to detect parent and two biologically active metabolites in the investigation of a new drug candidate *** addition,the ELISAs displayed excellent correlation with LC-MS analysis and evaluation of inhibitory *** results indicate that nanobody-based ELISA methods can efficiently analyze drug like *** methods could be easily implemented by the bedside,in the field in remote areas or in veterinary *** work illustrates that nanobody based assays offer alternative and supplementary analytical tools to mass spectrometry for monitoring small molecule medicines during clinical development and *** of nanobody based pharmaceutical assays are discussed.
