The central Zhuguang Mountains in Hunan Province is located at the junction of the three provinces,namely Hunan,Jiangxi,and guangdong,where the famous Lujing uranium ore field *** uranium deposits occurring in this area are all granite-related and they can be divided into three types,namely endogranitic ones,perigranitic ones,and contact zone *** endogranitic uranium deposits are mainly controlled by the structural alteration zones developing within granites,with fragmentation,hematitization,and alkali metasomatism as their main mineralization *** perigranitic uranium deposits are mainly produced in the carbonaceous,siliceous,and argillaceous composite layers of epimetamorphic rocks and are controlled by fractured zones formed due to interlayer *** contact zone type uranium deposits mainly occur in the contact parts between the granites and favorable *** have developed in favorable sections where multiple sets of structures are combined and *** main metallogenic regularities of uranium in the central Zhuguang Mountains are as *** basic conditions for the uranium mineralization in this area include the framework consisting of regional deep large faults and their associated multi-set multi-direction favorable metallogenic structures,multi-cycle and multi-stage uranium-rich rock masses,and uranium-rich folded ***,the uranium deposits in this area are closely related to granites in terms of genesis and space and they are formed in different structural parts subject to the same ***,based on the summary of the characteristics and regularities of uranium mineralization in this area,the controlling factors of different types of uranium deposits in the area were explored and six metallogenic target areas were *** these will provide references for the exploration of uranium deposits in this area.

Foreword: Toward a Quantitative Understanding of the Frontier in Geothermal Energy

Our planet, Earth, contains an enormous amount of heat just right under our feet. Harnessing this heat from 2 to 5 krn below is one of the great challenges of the 21st century, because this can solve many of the currently urgent problems in mega-cities, such as inexpensive domestic heating and airconditioning, electric power consumption and the cure of ram- pant air pollution. Around 40 TW heat are released at a steady rate by the Earth partly due to natural radioactive decay and partly due to the action inside the core. We would like to stress here that the depth of the isotherm of 200℃ （minimum tem- perature for efficient generation of electricity） varies around the globe. In general, this depth would be less than 10 km deep. Therefore these heat sources would provide ubiquitous ample, clean and sustainable electricity. In addition to this sustainable resource the potential of geothermal energy use is much greater, because it allows effective heat mining of the Earth. Geothermal energy is most commonly exploited in volcanic areas where magma is close to the surface and brings up the heat from deeper down. The largest geothermal power plant of this style is the Geysers in California, which with 1 GW power production rivals nuclear power plants.

Resveratrol is a natural polyphenolic compound with aim-inflammatory,antioxidant and neuroprorective properties,and it serves as a chemopreventive and chemotherapeutic ***,only very limited data have been obtained regarding rhe effects of resveratrol on preadipocytes,and the mechanisms of these effects remain largely *** this study,murine 3T3-L1 preadipocytes were incubated with resveratrol,and cell apoptosis was investigated. Resveratrol caused S-phase arrest to inhibit cell proliferation and significantly increased the lactate dehydrogenase leaking *** 33258 staining and transmission electron microscopy revealed the uitrastructural changes in nuclear chromatins of apoptotic ***,resveratrol activated the mitochondrial signaling with decreases in the mitochondrial membrane potential,cytochrome c release and the activation of caspase 9 and caspase 3. Resveratrol treatment also increased the protein level of *** using small interfering RNAs of ***-monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK) *** and the AMPK agonist(5-aminoimidazole-4-carboxamide 1-β-D-ribofuranoside) and specific inhibitors for protein kinase B(AKT) or *** was demonstrated that activation of Sirtl inhibited AKT activation and further decreased rhe expression of survivin It could also increase AMI’K *** signaling pathways activated mitochondrion-mediated *** findings clarified the apoptotic effects of resveratrol in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes and revealed the involved pathway including *** and survivin,suggesting its potential therapeutic application in the treatment or prevention of obesity and related metabolic symptoms.
