Viologens known as a kind of promising negolyte materials for aqueous organic redox flow batteries,face a critical stability challenge due to the S_N2 nucleophilic attack by hydroxide ions(OH-)during the battery *** this work,a N-cyclic quaternary ammonium-grafted viologen molecule,viz.1,1'-bis(4,4'-dime thylpiperidiniumyl)-4,4'-bipyridinium tetrachloride((DBPPy)Cl_(4)),is developed by the molecular engineering *** obtained(DBPPy)Cl_(4) molecule shows a decent solubility of 1.84 M and a redox potential of-0.52 V ***/AgCl,Experimental and theoretical results reveal that the grafted N-cyclic quaternary ammonium groups act as the steric hindrance to prevent nucleophilic attack by OH~-,increasing the alkali resistance of the electroactive *** symmetrical battery with 0.50 M(DBPPy)Cl4shows negligible decay during the 13-day cycling *** demonstration,the flow battery utilizing 1.0 M(DBPPy)Cl_(4) as the negolyte and 1-(1-oxyl-2,2',6,6'-tetramethylpiperidin-4-yl)-1'-(3-(trimethylammonio)propyl)-4,4'-bipyridinium trichloride as the posolyte exhibits a high capacity retention rate of 99.99%per cycle at 60 mA cm^(-2).

Inhibitory Smads(I-Smads),which belong to the Smad family and inhibit bone morphogenic protein 2(BMP2)signaling by a variety of mechanisms,can suppress innate immunity responses in ***,there are no reports for the role of Smad6 in immunity in *** this study,we showed that Smad6 of the pearl oyster Pinctada fucata martensii was located in the Smad6 cluster of the phylogenetic tree;mRNA expression of Smad6 and Smad3 was up-regulated after lipopolysaccharide and polyinosinic:polycytidylic challenge;and transcript levels of Smad6 and Smad3 showed opposite patterns during wound *** salinity stress,water inflow and outflow in the gills appear to be regulated by BMP2-Smads signals,and BMP2-Smads signaling may be closely related to the immune *** results indicate that Smad6 is involved in immunity,that it plays a positive role in the response to immune challenge and an inhibitory role during wound healing,and that Smad6 and Smad3 may work against each other.

The effect of physical parameters of cultivation （load volume, temperature, pH, agitation, inoculum size, and incubation period） in the production of laccase by wood-rotting basidiomycete Coriolus hirsutus were stu- died using diluted molasses distillery wastewater （MDW） as a major composition. Using fractional factorial design, our study first identified load volume, agitation, and inoculum size as statistically significant factors. Optimal preferences and mutual interactions of the factors were then determined by the response surface method, which is based on the center composite design. A quadratic model was used to fit the experimental data. The optimized operational parameters for laccase production were determined to be the following： culture temperature of 25~C, pH 4, load volume of 40 mL diluted MDW in 150 mL flask, agitation rate of 183 r-m in-~, inoculation of 11.5% v/v, and cultivation time of 6 d. The experimental validation under these conditions （the maximum laccase production of ***-1 was within the confidence interval） subsequently verified the accuracy of the constructed model. Moreover, the removal of chemical oxygen demand and nitrogen of MDW reached 62.85% and 48.00% respectively, and the decolorization ratio under the optimal condition was 41.85%. The enhanced production of laccase by C. hirsutus is a new recovery strategy for MDW.

Boosting selectivity and stability on Pt/BN catalysts for propane dehydrogenation via calcination & reduction-mediated strong metal-support interaction

Propane dehydrogenation(PDH) provides an alternative route for producing propylene. Herein, we demonstrates that h-BN is a promising support of Pt-based catalysts for PDH. The Pt catalysts supported on h-BN were prepared by an impregnation method using Pt(NH_(3))_(4)(NO_(3))_(2) as metal precursors. It has been found that the Pt/BN catalyst undergoing calcination and reduction is highly stable in both PDH reaction and coke-burning regeneration, together with low coke deposition and outstanding propylene selectivity(99%). Detailed characterizations reveal that the high coke resistance and high propylene selectivity of the Pt/BN catalyst are derived not only from the absence of acidity on BN support, but also from the calcination-induced and reduction-adjusted strong metal-support interaction(SMSI) between Pt and BN, which causes the partial encapsulation of Pt particles by BO_(x) overlayers. The BO_(x) overlayers can block the low-coordinated Pt sites and constrain Pt particles into smaller ensembles, suppressing side reactions such as cracking and deep dehydrogenation. Moreover, the BO_(x) overlayers can effectively inhibit Pt sintering by the spatial isolation of Pt during periodic reaction-regeneration cycles. In this work, the catalyst support for PDH is expanded to nonoxide BN, and the understanding of SMSI between Pt and BN will provide rational design strategy for BN-based catalysts.

Temperature-Dependent Fatty Acid Composition Change of Phospholipid in Steelhead Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) Tissues

In this study, the changes of the fatty acid composition of phospholipid in different tissues(muscle, heart, brain and spleen) of steelhead trout(Oncorhynchus mykiss) were analyzed when the water temperature decreased gradually from 16 to 12℃℃, 8℃, 6℃, 4℃, 2 and 1℃℃. Three fish individuals each tank(average weight 70.32 g ± 9.12 g) were collected and used to analysis at each designed temperatures. At normal temperature(16℃), the fatty acid composition of phospholipid of muscle and heart was similar each other. The highest concentration of saturate fatty acids(SFA) was found in the phospholipid of spleen. The brain phospholipid contained higher oleic acid(18:1 n9) than the phospholipid of other tissues at 16℃. When the environmental temperature decreased, the concentration of unsaturated fatty acids of phospholipids in all tissues increased, and accordingly the ratio pf the unsaturated to saturated fatty acids(U/S) and unsaturation index(UI) increased, indicating that steelhead trout can compensate temperature-dependent changes in membrane fluidity by remodeling the fatty acid composition of phospholipids. The changes in the fatty acid composition of phospholipid were tissue-specific. At the early stages of the experiment(16 to 8℃℃), the fatty acid composition of phospholipid changed remarkably in muscle, heart, and spleen. When temperature decreased to less than 8℃, an obvious response of phospholipid fatty acid was observed in all tissues. The change of phospholipid composition of steelhead trout tissues may be affected by both cold stress and starvation when the temperature decreased to 2℃, and the change of phospholipid composition of muscle was very obvious.

The stress state is critical to the reliability of structures,but existing ultrasonic methods are challenging to measure local *** this paper,zero-group-velocity(ZGV)Lamb mode was proposed to measure the local stress field in thin aluminum *** Lamb wave’s dispersive characteristics under initial stress were analyzed based on the FloquetBloch theory with Murnaghan hyperelastic material *** obtained dispersion curves show that higher-order Lamb wave modes near the cut-off frequencies are sensitive to applied stress across the plate,indicating that the S1-ZGV mode has a rather high sensitivity to *** to conventional ultrasonic stress measurement,it is found that the frequency of the S1-ZGV mode changes near-linearly with the amplitude of applied *** experiments were conducted to illustrate the feasibility of local stress measurement in a thin aluminum plate based on the S1-ZGV *** and multiple localized stress fields were evaluated with the S1-ZGV method,and reconstructed results matched well with actual stress fields,proving that the ZGV Lamb wave method is a sensitive stress measurement technique in thin plates.

Synthesis of amorphous SeP2/C composite by plasma assisted ball milling for high-performance anode materials of lithium and sodium-ion batteries

To promote substantially the performances of red phosphorous(P) anode for lithium and sodium-ion batteries, a simple plasma assisted milling(P-milling) method was used to in-situ synthesize SeP2/C composite. The results showed that the amorphous SeP2/C composite exhibits the excellent lithium and sodium storage performances duo to the small nano-granules size and complete combination of selenium(Se) and phosphorous(P) to generate Se–P alloy phase. It was observed that inside the granules of SeP2/C composite the nanometer size of the Se P2particles ensured the fast kinetics for Li~+ and Na~+ transfer, and the amorphous carbon wrapping the Se P2particles relieved volume expansion during lithium/sodium storage processes and enhances electric conductivity. Therefore, the SeP2/C electrode retained reversible capacities of 700 m A h g-1at 2 A g-1after 500 cycles and 400 m A h g-1at 0.5 A g-1after 400 cycles as anode for LIBs and SIBs, respectively. The result proves that the amorphous SeP2/C composite can be a new type of anode material with great potential for lithium and sodium-ion batteries.
