Vector meson masses in two-dimensional SU(N_C)lattice gauge theory with massive quarks

Using an improved lattice Hamiltonian with massive Wilson quarks a variational method is applied to study the dependence of the vector meson mass Mv on the quark mass m and the Wilson parameter r in two-dimensional SU（Nc） lattice gauge theory. The numerical results show that for Nc = 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, ..., in the scaling window 1 ≤ 1/g^2 ≤ 2, Mv/g is approximately linear in m, but Mv/g obviously does not depend on r （this differs from the quark condensate）. Particularly for m → 0 our numerical results agree very well with Bhattacharya＇s analytical strong coupling result in the continuum, and the value of （δMv/δm）｜m=0 in two-dimensional SU（Nc） lattice gauge theory is very close to that in Schwinger model.

The nature of the Cooper pairing in the paradigmatic unconventional superconductor Sr_(2)RuO_(4) is an outstanding puzzle in condensed matter *** the tremendous efforts made in the past twenty-seven years,neither the pairing symmetry nor the underlying pairing mechanism in this material has been understood with clear *** is largely due to the lack of a superconducting order that is capable of interpreting in a coherent manner the numerous essential experimental *** this stage,it may be desirable to reexamine our existing theoretical descriptions of superconducting Sr_(2)RuO_(4).This review focuses on several recent developments that may provide some clues for future *** highlight three separate aspects:1)any pairing in the Eu symmetry channel,with which the widely discussed chiral p-wave is associated,shall acquire a 3D structure due to spin-orbit entanglement;2)if the reported Kerr effect is a superconductivity-induced intrinsic bulk response,the superconductivity must either exhibit a chiral character,or be complex mixtures of certain set of helical p-wave pairings;3)when expressed in a multiorbital basis,the Cooper pairing could acquire numerous exotic forms that are inaccessible in single-orbital *** implications of each of these new perspectives are briefly discussed in connection with selected experimental phenomena.

The stability and uniformity of solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)are critical for clarifying the origin of capacity fade and safety issues for lithium metal anodes(LMA).However,understanding the interplay of SEI heterogeneity and Li electrodeposition is limited by the coupling of complex electrochemistry and mechanics ***,the correlation between the SEI failure behavior and Li deposition morphology is investigated through a quantitative electrochemical-mechanical *** local deformation and stress of SEI during Li electrodeposition identify that the heterogeneous interface between different components first *** with the well-known mechanical strength,component uniformity plays the most important role in the initial SEI failure and uneven Li deposition,and a relative component uniformity(p>0.01)represents a proper balance to ensure the stability of the naturally heterogeneous ***,the component regulation of SEI via the designed electrolyte experimentally demonstrates that improving component uniformity benefits SEI stability and the uniform Li electrodeposition for LMA,thereby increasing the capacity by~20%after 300 *** fundamental understandings and proposed strategy can be not only used to guide the SEI optimization via the electrolyte regulation,but also extended to the rational designs of artificial SEI for high-performance LMA.

Vacancy engineering is a useful methodology in the development of catalysts and electrode ***,we report the introduction of Se-vacancy pairs in heteroatom-doped(N,B,and F)CoSe/Mo_(2)CT_(x) MXene(NBF-CoSe/Mo_(2)CT_(x))to enhance the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and supercapacitor activities via an ionic liquid-mediated *** vacancy pairs and heteroatom doping enable the reallocation of local electron states and add active sites,improving the electrochemical activity of NBF-CoSe/Mo_(2)CT_(x) with high HER activities over a broad range of *** a current density of 10 mA cm^(-2),overvoltages of 70 and 81 mV are respectively produced in 0.5 M H_(2)SO_(4)and 1 M *** optimal structure also exhibits outstanding electrochemical performance in an asymmetric supercapacitor with an energy density of 34.2 Wh kg^(-1)at a power density of 15989.6Wkg^(-1).This study opens new avenues for the introduction of Se vacancies and heteroatom doping to improve the application performance.

Fractionation characteristics of rare earth elements(REEs) linked with secondary Fe, Mn, and Al minerals in soils

Soil secondary minerals are important scavengers of rare earth elements(REEs) in soils and thus affect geochemical behavior and occurrence of REEs. The fractionation of REEs is a common geochemical phenomenon in soils but has received little attention, especially fractionation induced by secondary minerals. In this study, REEs(La to Lu and Y) associated with soil-abundant secondary minerals Fe-, Al-, and Mn-oxides in 196 soil samples were investigated to explore the fractionation and anomalies of REEs related to the minerals. The results show right-inclined chondrite-normalized REE patterns for La–Lu in soils subjected to total soil digestion and partial soil extraction. Light REEs(LREEs) enrichment features were negatively correlated with a Eu anomaly and positively correlated with a Ce anomaly. The fractionation between LREEs and heavy REEs(HREEs) was attributed to the high adsorption affinity of LREEs to secondary minerals and the preferred activation/leaching of *** substantial fractions of REEs in soils extracted byoxalate and Dithionite-Citrate-Bicarbonate buffer solutions were labile(10 %–30 %), which were similar to the mass fraction of Fe(10 %–20 %). Furthermore, Eu was found to be more mobile than the other REEs in the soils, whereas Ce was less mobile. These results add to our understanding of the distribution and geochemical behavior of REEs in soils, and also help to deduce the conditions of soil formation from REE fractionation.

Transition metals like Au,Ag,and Cu have been reported to be quite active for CO_(2) *** this study,we use density functional theory(DFT)calculation to investigate the electronic structure and catalytic performance of Au,Ag,Cu and their alloys for CO_(2) reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR).Theoretical calculations identified the combination of Ag,Cu,and Au in a face-centered cubic(fcc)alloy as an outstanding electrocatalyst for CO_(2) reduction to CO,with Cu as the active *** d-orbital projected density of state(PDOS)profile suggests that alloying alters the electronic structure of the Cu site,thereby affecting the Gibbs free energy change for the formation of*COOH intermediate(ΔG_(*COOH)).To demonstrate the theoretical prediction experimentally,we employ a top-down dealloying approach to synthesize a nanoporous structured AgCuAu alloy(NP-Ag_(5)Cu_(5)Au_(5)).Electrochemical experiments validate that the ternary alloy catalyst is clearly better than unary and binary catalysts,showing a Faradaic efficiency(FE)for CO over 90%across a broad potential range of 0.6 V,with a peak of approximately 96%at-0.573 V *** study underscores the potential of multi-component alloys in CO_(2)RR and establishes a theoretical basis for designing efficient catalysts for CO_(2) utilization.

Tracking the in vivo spatio-temporal patterns of neovascularization via NIR-II fluorescence imaging

The in vivo spatio-temporal patterns of neovascularization are still poorly understood because it is limited to multi-scale techniques from the cellular level to living animal *** to deep tissue-penetration and zero autofluorescence background,the second near-infrared(NIR-II,1,000–1,700 nm)fluorescence imaging recently shows promise in breaking through this dilemma by dynamically tracking the pathophysiological process of neovascularization in ***,NIR-II fluorescence imaging was recruited for monitoring blood vessels in order to visualize the vascular injury and quantitively assess neovascularization in mouse models of acute skeleton muscle contusion and hindlimb *** temporal analysis of real-time NIR-II fluorescence intensity demonstrated that the blood flow perfusion of ischemia area was able to rapidly restore to 96%of pre-ischemic state within one ***,the spatial analysis revealed that the lower and outer quadrants of ischemia area in the mouse model of hindlimb ischemia always had relatively high blood flow perfusion compared with other quadrants during three weeks post-ischemia,and even exceeded pre-ischemic quantity at 21 days *** conclusion,this in vivo imaging technique has significant potential utility for studying the spatio-temporal patterns of neovascularization in vivo.

Effects of deposition parameters on microstructure and thermal conductivity of diamond films deposited by DC arc plasma jet chemical vapor deposition

The uniform diamond films with 60 mm in diameter were deposited by improved DC arc plasma jet chemical vapor deposition technique. The structure of the film was characterized by scanning electronic microcopy(SEM) and laser Raman spectrometry. The thermal conductivity was measured by a photo thermal deflection technique. The effects of main deposition parameters on microstructure and thermal conductivity of the films were investigated. The results show that high thermal conductivity, 10.0 W/(K·cm), can be obtained at a CH4 concentration of 1.5% (volume fraction) and the substrate temperatures of 880-920 ℃ due to the high density and high purity of the film. A low pressure difference between nozzle and vacuum chamber is also beneficial to the high thermal conductivity.

Fiber-shaped batteries that feature outstanding flexibility,light weight,and wovenability are extremely attractive for powering smart wearable electronic textiles,which further stimulates their demand in extreme ***,there are rare reports on ultralow-temperature fiber batteries to *** is mainly attributed to the poor conductivity of electrodes and freezing of electrolytes that restrain their satisfactory flexible operation in cold ***,we propose a fiber cooper metal battery consisting of a conductive polyaniline cathode,an anti-freezing Cu(BF4)2+H3PO4electrolyte and an acidresistant copper wire anode,which can withstand various deformations at ultralow ***,enhanced capacity and cyclic stability can be achieved by cryoactivated abundant reactive sites in the polyaniline,while benefiting from redox reactions with rapid kinetics involving protons rather than copper ***,this well-designed polyaniline/Cu fiber battery delivers excellent flexibility without obvious capacity decay after being bent at-30℃,as well as a remarkable discharge capacity of 120.1 mA h g-1and a capacity retention of 96.8%after 2000 cycles at-50℃.The fiber batteries integrated into wearable textiles can power various electronic *** performances greatly outperform those of most reported ***,this work provides a promising strategy toward applications of cryogenic wearable energy storage devices.
