Terahertz(THz) wireless communication has been recognized as a powerful technology to meet the everincreasing demand of ultra-high rate *** order to achieve efficient and reliable wireless communications over THz bands,it is extremely necessary to find an appropriate waveform for THz *** this paper,performance comparison of various single-carrier and multi-carrier waveforms over THz channels will be ***,first,a system model for terahertz communication is briefly described,which includes amplifier nonlinearity,propagation characteristic,phase noise,***,the transceiver architectures related to both single-carrier and multi-carrier waveforms are presented,as well as their corresponding signal processing *** evaluate the suitability of the waveforms,key performance metrics concerning power efficiency,transmission performance,and computational complexity are *** results are provided to compare and validate the performance of different waveforms,which demonstrate the outstanding performance of Discrete-Fourier-Transform spread Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(DFT-s-OFDM) to THz communications when compared to Cyclic Prefix-OFDM(CP-OFDM) and other single-carrier waveforms.

Algebraic variety is the most important subject in classical algebraic geometry. As the zero set of multivariate splines, the piecewise algebraic variety is a kind generalization of the classical algebraic variety. This paper studies the correspondence between spline ideals and piecewise algebraic varieties based on the knowledge of algebraic geometry and multivariate splines.

The Evolution and Differentiation of Economic Convergence of Resource-based Cities in Northeast China

A key target of the overall strategy implementation for regional development since the 18th Party Congress of China has involved taking measures to narrow regional disparities. This is because resource-based cities' economic development has fallen below general levels due to resource exhaustion and an unbalanced industrial structure, among other factors. Further, an economic gap has long existed between Northeast China's large number of resource-based cities and non-resource-based cities. This article comprehensively studies the economic convergence of Northeast China's resource-based cities and non-resource-based cities from 1996 to 2015 by using a dynamic panel to analyze not only the economic development of different industries and types of cities, but also the main factors that influence economic development. The empirical results demonstrate that economic convergence exists in both resource-based and non-resource-based cities, but the economic gap between them has clearly narrowed since the implementation of a strategy to revitalize the Northeast's old industrial base. Shrinking cities are the fastest to converge, as mature cities are slower and regenerating cities are the slowest; regarding industry structure, the secondary industry dominates the economy in mature and shrinking cities, and the tertiary industry in regenerating cities. The primary stimulus in resource-based cities' economic development involves upgrading the industrial structure and investing in human capital. As China faces a ‘new normal' economy, resource-based cities in Northeast China should restructure the economy and perfect their market system to avoid again widening the economic gap.

On airless bodies such as the Moon and Mercury, secondary craters on the continuous secondaries facies of fresh craters mostly occur in chains and clusters. They have very irregular shapes. Secondaries on the continuous secondaries facies of some Martian and Mercurian craters are more isolated from each other in distribution and are more circular in shape, probably due to the effect of target properties on the impact excavation process. This paper studies secondaries on the continuous secondaries facies of all fresh lunar complex craters using recently-obtained high resolution images. After a global search, we find that 3 impact craters and basins on the Moon have circular and isolated secondaries on the continuous secondaries facies similar to those on Mercury： the Orientale basin, the Antoniadi crater, and the Compton crater. The morphological differences between such special secondaries and typical lunar secondaries are quantitatively compared and analyzed. Our preliminary analyses suggest that the special secondaries were probably caused by high temperature gradients within the local targets when these craters and basins formed. The high-temperature of the targets could have affected the impact excavation process by causing higher ejection angles, giving rise to more scattered circular secondaries.

The Influence of Biochar on Growth of Lettuce and Potato

Pot experiments were conducted in a glasshouse to determine the growth pattern of lettuce, true potato seedlings （TPS） and single node cuttings of TPS in response to biochar. The treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design with 5 treatments （0, 10, 30, 50 and 100 t ha^-1） ofbiochar from greenwaste with 5 replications in lettuce, 10 in TPS and 5 in single node cuttings of TPS. The observations recorded on growth parameters showed that biochar had significant effect on growth of lettuce but no consistent effect on growth of TPS and single node cuttings. Among the biochar rates, 30 t ha^-1 had the greatest influence on overall growth of lettuce. The pH and electrical conductivity increased as the biochar rates increased in all experiments. These results provide an avenue for soil management system by using biochar as an amendment in horticultural crops. However, their verification in the field is important for specific recommendations.

Ubiquitin-propargylamide(Ub-PA) is one of the most widely used activity-based probe to measure the activity of deubiquitinases(DUBs) and help validate DUBs targeting inhibitors. However, current synthetic route of Ub-PA is cumbersome. In this work, we report a novel semi-synthetic strategy to prepare Ub-PA in large-scale. Biochemical assays prove that semi-synthetic Ub-PA is an effective probe in identifying DUBs targeting inhibitors.
