In this paper,the dust particle surface potential for argon-helium plasma is evaluated analytically and numerically in the context of negatively charged dust particles by employing a power-law(r,q)-distribution *** studies have reported the argon-helium plasma and conducted a brief theoretical and experimental *** deepen our understanding further,this study aims to analyze the argon-helium plasma comprehensively using the same pattern but with the(r,q)-distribution *** this purpose,the current balance equations are derived for electron,helium and argon ions,when these charge species attain the quasineutrality *** numerically examined the currents of plasma species for a broad range of effective distribution function parameters r and *** is revealed that the surface potential of dust particles is significantly affected by the parameters r and q,helium ion-to-electron temperature ratio,argon ion-to-electron temperature ratio,and helium ion to argon ion number density *** incorporating the multi-ion(argon-helium)species,the significance of low-temperature nonMaxwellian dusty(complex)plasma is briefly examined.

Assessment of Barriers and Challenges to the Screening and Linkages of Non-Communicable Diseases by Community Health Volunteers in Nyeri County, Kenya

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are a significant global health challenge, contributing to 50% of worldwide morbidity and 63% of mortality. The burden is particularly substantial in low—and middle-income countries (LMICs), where 80% of NCD-related deaths occur. A quasi-experimental study addressed this challenge from May 2022 to March 2023. This study utilized a non-equivalent pre-and post-test design, with 300 participants in the quantitative and 70 in the qualitative. The study employed multistage cluster and random sampling to select ten community units, resulting in 150 community health volunteers (CHVs) in the control unit and 150 in the intervention group. Data collection was facilitated through the KOBO app. Qualitative data analysis involved six homogeneous focus group discussions (FGDs) and ten key informant interviews (KIIs), audio-recorded, transcribed, and analyzed using N-Vivo 12. Despite efforts to implement screening programs and improve linkages to care, significant barriers persist. This article reviews these barriers, drawing on current literature and empirical evidence. Key obstacles identified include limited awareness, inadequate healthcare infrastructure, cultural beliefs, financial constraints, fragmented healthcare systems, and challenges linking individuals to appropriate care services. The article explores strategies to overcome these barriers, emphasizing the importance of collaborative approaches involving stakeholders at various levels. Addressing these challenges aims to strengthen NCD screening and linkages to care, ultimately improving health outcomes for populations globally. Several recommendations emerge from the study’s findings and literature review. Raising awareness about NCDs and preventive measures is crucial and can be achieved through targeted health education campaigns and community outreach programs. Mapping and resource evaluation of deep high-temperature geothermal resources in the Jiyang Depression,China

In China,geothermal resource utilization has mainly focused on resources at shallow and medium ***,the exploration of deep,high-temperature geothermal resources holds significant importance for achieving the“dual carbon”goals and the transition of energy *** Jiyang Depression in the Bohai Bay Basin has vast potential for deep,high-temperature geothermal *** analyzing data from 2187 wells with temperature logs and 270 locations for temperature measurement in deep strata,we mapped the geothermal field of shallow to medium-deep layers in the Jiyang Depression using ArcGIS and predicted the temperatures of deep layers with a burial depth of 4000 *** stochastic modeling and numerical simulation,a reservoir attribute parameter database for favorable deep,high-temperature geothermal areas was developed,systematically characterizing the spatial distribution of geothermal resources within a play fairway of 139.5 km2 and estimating the exploitable deep geothermal resource potential by using the heat storage method and Monte Carlo data *** study reveals that the Fan 54 well block in the Boxing-Jijia region is of prime significance to develop deep,high-temperature geothermal resources in the Jiyang *** from the Cenozoic to the Upper Paleozoic are identified as effective cap layers for these deep geothermal *** Lower Paleozoic capable of effectively storing thermal energy and possessing an exploitable resource volume up to 127 million tons of standard coal,is identified as a target system for the development of deep high-temperature geothermal resources,providing significant insights for the efficient development of geothermal resources in the Jiyang Depression.

Characteristics of heavy metals in soil of lead-zinc mining areas and changes of antioxidant enzyme systems in maize leaf under Pb stress

Pb,Cu,Cd,Zn content of soil in mining areas and abandoned land,flats of the Pijiang River and farmlands were *** this basis of soil heavy metal pollution,the changes of antioxidant enzyme system in maize(Qiandan 88)under different Pb concentrations(0,20,40,60,80,100,150,200,500,1000,2000,3000 mg/L)stress were *** results show that the content of Pb,Cu,Cd,and Zn in soil is the highest in mining areas and abandoned land,followed by flats of the Pijiang River>farmlands,and that the variation range of Pb,Cu,Cd in mining areas and abandoned land are 106.40-2564.72,14.83-490.88,22.57-712.77 mg/kg,respectively,which are higher than that of the other land use *** maize is under stress of 20-500 mg/L Pb concentration,T-SOD activity of maize leaves increase with the increase of Pb concentration and the highest value is 50.21 U/mg prot,but under Pb concentration>1000 mg/L stress,T-SOD activity of maize leaves decrease *** activity of POD decreases with the increases of Pb concentra-tion,and the lowest POD activity of leaves in maize with the value of 93.24 U/mg prot is appeared in Pb 1000 mg/L concentration treatment *** content in leaves of maize increases with the increase of the Pb concentration and the highest value is 101.98 nmol/mg prot,then the content of MDA decreases gradually when the Pb concentration is more than 500 mg/L,which indicates that the membrane lipid peroxidation of maize leaves under high concentration of Pb stress is serious and leads to the cell damage.

Citizens’Mental Health Issues and Psychological Trauma Experience due to a Crowd-Crush Disaster in Korea

This study evaluated the state of anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, general mental health, and mental well-beingamong citizens after a crowd-crush disaster in Korea. Individuals who experienced the crowd crush had significantly higheranxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) scores than those who did not (p group than those who experienced it indirectly (p = 0.005). There was a significant difference in PTSD scores in cases ofdirect damage or death of an acquaintance (p < 0.001). The Seoul Halloween crowd crush caused psychological damagethrough indiscriminate exposure to the public, and symptoms of PTSD appeared over a long period. It is crucial to provideessential resources for ongoing treatment and case management.

In situ IR-RAS investigation of corrosion of tin in air containing H_2O, NO_2 and SO_2 at room temperature

In order to obtain a fundamental understanding of the corrosion behavior oftin in atmosphere, in situ IR-RAS (infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy) measurements wereperformed on tin in humid air containing SO_2 and NO_2 at room temperature. Time-resolved in situ IRspectra in air of 90 percent RH (relative humidity) containing 1 X 10^(-5)-2.2 X 10^(-5) SO_2suggested that the tin oxide layers worked as a protective film and no significant corrosionoccurred. The corrosion products in air of 80 percent-90 percent RH containing 1 X 10^(-5)-2.2 X10^(-5) NO_2 were SnO_2, SnO, nitrate and hyponitrite. The synergistic effect of SO_2 and NO_2 oncorrosion of tin was not observed in air of 90 percent RH containing 0.84 X 10^(-6) SO_2 and 1.8 X10^(-6) NO_2.
