Poly（N-isopropylacrylamide）-based hydrogel was prepared under microwave irradiation The hydrogel thus prepared, comparing with that prepared by thermal heating method, exhibits faster swelling and shrinking kinetics. The improved responsive properties are due to the more heterogeneous and porous networks formed under microwave irradiation.

This paper describes a new weather generator e the 10-state empirical model e that combines a 10-state, first-order Markov chain with a non-parametric precipitation amounts model. Using a doubly-stochastic transition-matrix results in a weather generator for which the overall precipitation distribution(including both wet and dry days) and the temporal-correlation can be modified independently for climate change studies. This paper assesses the ability of the 10-state empirical model to simulate daily area-average precipitation in the Torne River catchment in northern Sweden/western Finland in the context of 3 other models: a 10-state model with a parametric(Gamma) amounts model; a wet/dry chain with the empirical amounts model; and a wet/dry chain with the parametric amounts model. The ability to accurately simulate the distribution of multi-day precipitation in the catchment is the primary *** showed that the 10-state empirical model represented accumulated 2- to 14-day precipitation most realistically. Further, the distribution of precipitation on wet days in the catchment is related to the placement of a wet day within a wet-spell, and the 10-state models represented this realistically, while the wet/dry models did not. Although all four models accurately reproduced the annual and monthly averages in the training data, all models underestimated inter-annual and inter-seasonal variance. Even so, the 10-state empirical model performed *** conclude that the multi-state model is a promising candidate for hydrological applications, as it simulates multi-day precipitation well, but that further development is required to improve the simulation of interannual variation.

Chitosan–metal complexes have been widely studied in wastewater treatment, but there are still various factors in complex preparation which are collectively responsible for improving the adsorption capacity need to be further studied. Thus, this study investigates the factors affecting the adsorption ability of chitosan–metal complex adsorbents, including various kinds of metal centers, different metal salts and crosslinking degree. The results show that the chitosan–Fe（ Ⅲ） complex prepared by sulfate salts exhibited the best adsorption efficiency（100%） for various dyes in very short time duration（10 min）, and its maximum adsorption capacity achieved 349.22 mg/g. The anion of the metal salt which was used in preparation played an important role to enhance the adsorption ability of chitosan–metal complex. SO4^（2-） ions not only had the effect of crosslinking through electrostatic interaction with amine group of chitosan polymer, but also could facilitate the chelation of metal ions with chitosan polymer during the synthesis ***, the p H sensitivity and the sensitivity of ionic environment for chitosan–metal complex were analyzed. We hope that these factors affecting the adsorption of the chitosan–metal complex can help not only in optimizing its use but also in designing new chitosan–metal based complexes.

Biologically active carbon （BAC） system was set up in a water plant of South China during January to December 2007,to study the invertebrate community characteristics of BAC ***-seven invertebrate species were found,of which 28 belonging to *** operation could lead to an output of invertebrates in high abundances with the filtrate,and the maximum density could reach 5608 individuals/m *** abundances in the effluent water increased in 27-33 folds in comparison to the influent water during the sampling *** community succession had the following trend：filter-feeding animals → small benthic invertebrates → large benthic and resistant *** of large-sized invertebrates （copepod adult and oligochaete） at bigger-media column were significantly higher than that at small-media *** results implied the abundant species diversity of invertebrate in BAC *** relationship between invertebrate and biofilm still remain to be studied in detail.

MongoDB is one of the first commercial distributed databases that support causal *** implementation of causal consistency combines several research ideas for achieving scalability,fault tolerance,and *** its inherent complexity,a natural question arises:"Has MongoDB correctly implemented causal consistency as it claimed?"To address this concern,the Jepsen team has conducted black-box testing of ***,this Jepsen testing has several drawbacks in terms of specification,test case generation,implementation of causal consistency checking algorithms,and testing scenarios,which undermine the credibility of its *** this work,we propose a more thorough design of Jepsen testing of causal consistency of ***,we fully implement the causal consistency checking algorithms proposed by Bouajjani et *** test MongoDB against three well-known variants of causal consistency,namely CC,CCv,and CM,under various scenarios including node failures,data movement,and network *** addition,we develop formal specifications of causal consistency and their checking algorithms in TLA^(+),and verify them using the TLC model *** also explain how TLA^(+) specification can be related to Jepsen testing.

Reducing the dissolution of Mn from LiMn_(2)O_(4)(LMO)and enhancing the stability of film electrodes are critical and challenging for Li+ions selective extraction via electrochemically switched ion exchange *** this work,we prepared a nitrogen-doped carbon cladding LMO(C-N@LMO)by polymerization of polypyrrole and high-temperature annealing in the N2 gas to achieve the above *** modified C-N@LMO film electrode exhibited lower Mn dissolution and better cyclic stability than the LMO film *** dissolution ratio of Mn from the C-N@LMO film electrode decreased by 42%compared to the LMO film electrode after 10 *** cladding layer not only acted as a protective layer but also functioned as a conductive shell,accelerating the migration rate of Li+*** intercalation equilibrium time of the C-N@LMO film electrode reached within an hour during the extraction of Li+ions,which was 33%less compared to the pure LMO film ***,the C-N@LMO film electrode retained evident selectivity toward Li+ions,and the separation factor was 118.38 for Li+toward Mg2+in simulated ***,the C-N@LMO film electrode would be a promising candidate for the recovery of Li+ions from salt lakes.

Zero knowledge sets is a new cryptographic primitive introduced by Micali, Rabin, and Kilian in FOCS 2003. It has been intensively studied recently. However all the existing ZKS schemes follow the basic structure by Micali et al. That is, the schemes employ the Merkle tree as a basic structure and mercurial commitments as the commitment units to nodes of the tree. The proof for any query consists of an authentication chain. We propose in this paper a new algebraic scheme that is completely different from all the existing schemes. Our new scheme is computationally secure under the standard strong RSA assumption. Neither mercurial commitments nor tree structure is used in the new construction. In fact, the prover in our construction commits the desired set without any trapdoor information, which is another key important difference from the previous approaches.
