The current energy supply trajectory in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN)region is not *** such as rising standards of living and demographic patterns,including population growth,lead to continuous increase in power demand,which is difficult to meet using limited fossil fuel ***,a transition toward clean energy sources is needed in the *** ASEAN member countries are rich in clean energy resources,such resources are located far from demand centers;thus,allocation of clean energy is necessary to increase its *** this study,power demand is forecasted using a combination of prediction methods.A model to evaluate the installed capacity and power exchange potential is proposed to deal with mismatch between the location of the clean energy base and the load ***,the concept of cross-regional allocation of clean energy between the ASEAN region,China,and South Asia is presented.A power interconnection scheme among the ASEAN member countries as well as neighboring countries is proposed based on the power exchange *** proposed grid interconnection scheme contributes to the utilization of clean energy in the ASEAN region,increasing the proportion of clean energy in the generation mix,which ensures that the region becomes a sustainable and resilient society with a clean and low carbon development ***,the proposed power interconnection scheme will generate valuable economic,social,environmental,and resource allocation benefits.

energy crisis and climate change have become two seriously concerned issues universally. As a feasible solution, global energy interconnection(GEI) has been highly praised and positively responded by the international community once proposed by China. From strategic conception to implementation, GEI development has entered a new phase of joint action now. Gathering and building a global grid database is a prerequisite for conducting research on GEI. Based on the requirement of global grid data management and application, combining with big data and geographic information technology, this paper studies the global grid data acquisition and analysis process, sorts out and designs the global grid database structure supporting GEI research, and builds a global grid database system.

The demands for massive renewable energy integration, passive network power supply, and global energy interconnection have all gradually increased, posing new challenges for high voltage direct current(HVDC) power transmission systems, including more complex topology and increased diversity of bipolar HVDC transmission. This study proposes that these two factors have led to new requirements for HVDC control strategies. Moreover, due to the diverse applications of HVDC transmission technology, each station in the system has different requirements. Furthermore, the topology of the AC-DC converter is being continuously developed, revealing a trend towards hybrid converter stations.

For building global energy interconnection(GEI), it is necessary to implement new breakthroughs on largepower system simulation. Key routes for implementing full electromagnetic transient simulation of large-power systems are described in this paper, and a top framework is designed. A combination of the new large time step algorithm and the traditional small-time step algorithm is proposed where both parts A and B are calculated independently. The method for integrating the Norton equivalence of the power electronic system to the entire power grid is proposed. A two-level gird division structure is proposed, which executes a multi-rate parallel calculation among subsystems and element parallel calculation in each subsystem. The initialization method of combining load flow derivation and automatic trial-and-error launching is introduced. The feasibility of the method is demonstrated through a practical power grid example, which lays a foundation for further research.

Poverty Reduction Effect of Adaptation to Climate Change: Empirical Evidence from China's Loess Plateau and Qinba Mountains

Based on the micro-survey data of rural households in China’s Loess Plateau and Qinba Mountains, this paper empirically examines the poverty reduction effect and mechanism of adaptation to climate change. The research conclusions show that the adaptation actions can significantly reduce the poverty vulnerability of farmers, especially the future incidence of poverty in agricultural or poor households to a greater extent, which is characterized by a “pro-poor” *** actions can reduce poverty from two aspects: decreasing the expected income volatility(loss mitigation effect) and increasing the expected income level(opportunity effect), and the former is stronger than the latter. In the post-2020 period, China should enhance policy support in rural areas to adapt to climate change, improve the resilience of farmers’ livelihoods and climate change resilience of rural areas, and promote sustainable poverty reduction.

Environmental problems caused by traditional power production and the unbalanced distribution of energy resources and demand limit the development of sustainable societies. A feasible method to optimize the resource allocation has been proposed, and it involves cross-border and cross-regional electricity transactions. However, the uncertainty of renewable energy and the specific features of the cross-border electricity market are key issues which need to be considered in the trading mechanism design. Based on this, this paper sets up a long-term cross-border electricity trading model considering the uncertainty of renewable energy. First, annual transactions are matched according to the declared data of bidders with consideration of cross-border interconnection development benefits, potential benefit risks, and transmission costs. Second, for annual contract decomposition, the model uses the minimum generation cost function with a penalty item for power shortages to allocate electricity to each month. Additionally, the scenario reduction algorithm is combined with the unit commitment to construct a stochastic generation plan. Finally, a case study of the numerical results for the multinational electricity market in northeast Asia is used to show that the proposed trading model is feasible for cross-border electricity trading with high penetration of renewable energy.

Wide area measurement system(WAMS), which is based on synchronization data from phasor measurement units(PMU) and EMS SCADA, is implemented to establish a system model that can handle certain functions such as realtime power system monitoring, oscillation mode analysis, accident analysis and decision-making assistance for emergency control. The Brazilian Interconnected Power System(BIPS) is a large system covering an extensive geographical region, which faces certain risks and challenges. It has several main transmission corridors associated with large power plants and interconnection between the northern and southeastern regions. Mismatch between the energy base and load pool also exists in Brazil as energy resources are not well-distributed; therefore, the use of large-capacity, long-distance transmission technique to transmit remote power is unescapable. On the other hand, there are many types of voltage levels and multiple entangled electromagnetic loops owing to historical reasons. Then, for insufficient power reservation and defective grid body in load pools, once the external power is cut, it's easy to raise a blackout. The infrastructure is old and the power system operates close to the upper limit. All these represent risks and challenges to BIPS. Through WAMS technology research method in this project, the electrical power system function of monitoring, analysis, and control improved from the static state to the dynamic state. WAMS enhances data integration and real-time analysis capabilities, and can provide dispatchers with high quality real-time dynamic information and decision-making support information, enhance monitoring of auxiliary services in the electricity market, enable operators to improve the accuracy of power network analysis, thereby increasing power grid monitoring and operation, and improve the transmission capacity and reliability of the power grid operation [1].

global renewable energy has maintained a steady growth in recent years, mainly fostered by national policies and increasing demand. Analyzing the experience of renewable energy development in developed countries can be important to provide reference and guidance for its adoption in other countries. First, we compare and summarize definitions of distributed generation from 18 leading countries and organizations in renewable energy. On this basis, we provide three basic characteristics for successful distributed generation using renewable resources. Then, we empirically analyze the distributed and centralized development of renewable energy in Germany with focus on wind and photovoltaic power. We determined that 95% of the photovoltaic generation and 85% of the wind power generation is distributed in Germany, suggesting that the most suitable generation mode for renewable energy is the distributed approach.
