Prediction of the undrained shear strength of remolded soil with non-linear regression,fuzzy logic,and artificial neural network

This study aims to predict the undrained shear strength of remolded soil samples using non-linear regression analyses,fuzzy logic,and artificial neural network modeling.A total of 1306 undrained shear strength results from 230 different remolded soil test settings reported in 21 publications were collected,utilizing six different measurement *** water content,plastic limit,and liquid limit were used as input parameters for fuzzy logic and artificial neural network modeling,liquidity index or water content ratio was considered as an input parameter for non-linear regression *** non-linear regression analyses,12 different regression equations were derived for the prediction of undrained shear strength of remolded ***-Forward backpropagation and the TANSIG transfer function were used for artificial neural network modeling,while the Mamdani inference system was preferred with trapezoidal and triangular membership functions for fuzzy logic *** experimental results of 914 tests were used for training of the artificial neural network models,196 for validation and 196 for *** was observed that the accuracy of the artificial neural network and fuzzy logic modeling was higher than that of the non-linear regression ***,a simple and reliable regression equation was proposed for assessments of undrained shear strength values with higher coefficients of determination.

Logical Image Acquisition and Analysis of Android Smartphones

Android smartphones largely dominate the smartphone market. For this reason, it is very important to examine these smartphones in terms of digital forensics since they are often used as evidence in trials. It is possible to acquire a physical or logical image of these devices. Acquiring physical and logical images has advantages and disadvantages compared to each other. Creating the logical image is done at the file system level. Analysis can be made on this logical image. Both logical image acquisition and analysis of the image can be done by software tools. In this study, the differences between logical image and physical image acquisition in Android smartphones, their advantages and disadvantages compared to each other, the difficulties that may be encountered in obtaining physical images, which type of image contributes to obtaining more useful and effective data, which one should be preferred for different conditions, and the benefits of having root authority are discussed. The practice of getting the logical image of the Android smartphones and making an analysis on the image is also included. Although root privileges are not required for logical image acquisition, it has been observed that very limited data will be obtained with the logical image created without root privileges. Nevertheless, logical image acquisition has advantages too against physical image acquisition.

Dielectric properties,electrical modulus and current transport mechanisms of Au/ZnO/n-Si structures

Au/Zn O/n-Si（MIS）structures were fabricated by using the RF sputtering method and their complex dielectric constant（ε*=ε’-jε’’）,electric modulus（M*=M′+j M’’）and electrical conductivity(σ=σdc+σac)values were investigated as a function of frequency（0.7 k Hz-1 MHz）and voltage(-6–（+6 V）)by capacitance-voltage（C-V）and conductance-voltage（G/ω-V）measurements to get more information on the conduction mechanisms and formation of barrier height between Au and *** lnσ-Lnf plots have two different regions corresponding to low-intermediate and high *** behavior of lnσ-lnf plots shows that the existence of two different conduction mechanisms（CMs）at low-intermediate and high ***,the reverse bias saturation current（I_o）,ideality factor（n）,barrier height(ΦBo)were determined from the forward bias I-V data and they were found as a strong function of *** value of n especially at low temperature is considerably higher than *** values ofΦB0and standard deviation（σs）were found from the intercept and slope ofΦBo-q/2k T plots as 0.551 e V and 0.075 V for the region I（80–220 K）and 1.126 e V and 0.053 V for the region II（220–400 K）,*** values ofΦBoand effective Richardson constant（A*）were found from slope and intercept of activation energy plots as 0.564 e V and 101.084 Acm-2K-2for the region I and 1.136 e V and41.87 Acm-2K-2for the region II,*** results confirm that the current-voltage-temperature（I-V-T）characteristics of the fabricated Au/Zn O/n-Si SBDs can satisfactorily be explained on the basis of TE theory with double GD of the BHs.

A histological study of rabbit corneas after transepithelial corneal crosslinking using partial epithelial photoablation or ethanol treatment

AIM: To evaluate the histological changes after transepithelial corneal crosslinking(CXL) using partial thickness excimer laser ablation or epithelial ethanol application in an experimental rabbit ***: Right eyes of twenty-four rabbits were studied. Four eyes received total epithelial debridement(group I). Four eyes received partial thickness epithelial ablation with excimer laser(group II). Twelve eyes were treated with different durations(30s and 60s) and concentrations(18% to 48%) of ethanol(group III).Riboflavin was applied for 30 min intervals along with topical proparacaine drops with benzalkonium chloride,and 370 nm irradiation was performed for 30 min, while riboflavin was instilled every 3min. Four eyes(group IV)received 48% ethanol for 30 s without riboflavin and irradiation. Eyes were collected after 24 h and examined ***: All eyes in group I showed keratocyte loss in the superficial 300 μ of corneal storma. In group II, 1-4layers of epithelium were preserved and no keratocyte loss occurred. In group III, CXL after treatment with ethanol up to 24% concentration and up to 60 s revealed no keratocyte loss. CXL after treatment with 48% and higher ethanol concentrations yielded keratocyte loss in the superficial 200 μ to 300 μ of ***: Incomplete excimer laser ablation of the epithelium or treatment with ethanol up to 24%concentration and up to 60 s duration yielded no stromal keratocyte loss. To get the same histological appearance seen in epithelial debridement group, partial thicknessexcimer laser epithelial ablation or ethanol application is not adequate for transepithelial CXL.

Relationship between indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase activity and lymphatic invasion propensity of colorectal carcinoma

AIM: To evaluate whether serum and tumor indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase activities can predict lymphatic invasion (LI) or lymph node metastasis in colorectal ***: The study group consisted of 44 colorectal carcinoma patients. The patients were re-grouped according to the presence or absence of LI and lymph node metastasis. Forty-three cancer-free subjects without any metabolic disturbances were included into the control group. Serum neopterin was measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. Urinary neopterin and biopterin, serum tryptophan (Trp) and kynurenine (Kyn) concentrations of all patients were determined by high performance liquid chromatography. Kyn/Trp was calculated and its correlation with serum neopterin was determined to estimate the serum indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase activity. Tissue sections from the studied tumors were re-examined histopathologically and were stained by immunohistochemistry with indoleamine-2,3-dioxygenase ***: Neither serum nor urinary neopterin was significantly different between the patient and control groups (both P > 0.05). However, colorectal carcinoma patients showed a significant positive correlation between the serum neopterin levels and Kyn/Trp (r = 0.450, P < 0.01). Urinary biopterin was significantly higher in cancer cases (P < 0.05). Serum Kyn/Trp was significantly higher in colorectal carcinoma patients (P < 0.01). Lymphatic invasion was present in 23 of 44 patients, of which only 12 patients had lymph node metastasis. Eleven patients with LI had no lymph node metastasis. Indoleamine-2,3-dioxygenase intensity score was significantly higher in LI positive cancer group (44.56% ± 6.11%) than negative colorectal cancer patients (24.04% ± 6.90%), (P < 0.05). Assessment of the potential interactions between favipiravir and radiocontrast agents

BACKGROUND In cases of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),favipiravir is commonly included to the therapy *** interactions between favipiravir and other COVID-19 therapy drugs are frequently ***,no research on possible drug interactions between Favipiravir and radiocontrast agents,which have become almost crucial in diagnostic processes while not being part of the treatment,has been *** To determine potential medication interactions between Favipiravir and radiocontrast *** The study comprised patients who were taking Favipiravir for COVID-19 therapy and underwent a contrast-enhanced computed tomography(CT)or magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)test while taking the *** computerized patient files of the cases included in the study,as well as the pharmacovigilance forms in the designated hospital,were evaluated for this *** The study included the evaluation of data from 1046 *** study sample's mean age was 47.23±9.48 *** mean age of cases with drug interactions was statistically significant greater than that of cases with no drug interactions(P=0.003).When evaluated with logistic regression analysis,a 1-year raises in age increases the risk of developing drug interactions by 1.63 times(P=0.023).There was no statistically significant difference in the occurrence of medication interactions between the sexes(P=0.090).Possible medication interactions were discovered in 42 cases(4%).CONCLUSION The findings of this study revealed that the most notable findings as a result of the combined use of contrast agents and favipiravir were increased creatinine and transaminase values,as well as an increase in the frequency of nausea and *** majority of drug interactions discovered were modest enough that they were not reflected in the *** interactions become more common as people get older.

DTL cavity design and beam dynamics for a TAC linear proton accelerator

A 30 mA drift tube linac （DTL） accelerator has been designed using SUPERFISH code in the energy range of 3-55 MeV in the framework of the Turkish Accelerator Center （TAC） project. Optimization criteria in cavity design are effective shunt impedance （ZTT）, transit-time factor and electrical breakdown limit. In geometrical optimization we have aimed to increase the energy gain in each RF gap of the DTL cells by maximizing the effective shunt impedance （ZTT） and the transit-time factor. Beam dynamics studies of the DTL accelerator have been performed using beam dynamics simulation codes of PATH and PARMILA. The results of both codes have been compared. In the beam dynamical studies, the rms values of beam emittance have been taken into account and a low emittance growth in both x and y directions has been attempted.

Cone Metric Spaces and Fixed Point Theorems in Diametrically Contractive Mappings

In this paper, some topological concepts and definitions are generalized to cone metric spaces. It is proved that every cone metric space is first countable topological space and that sequentially compact subsets axe compact. Also, we define diametrically contractive mappings and asymptotically diametrically contractive mappings on cone metric spaces to obtain some fixed point theorems by assuming that our cone is strongly minihedral.

Temperature-dependent dielectric properties of Au/Si_3N_4/n-Si (metal insulator semiconductor) structures

The dielectric properties of Au/Si3N4/n-Si （MIS） structures are studied using the admittance measurements （C–V and G/ω–V） each as a function of temperature in a range from 80 K to 400 K for two frequencies （100 kHz and 1 MHz）. Experimental results show that both the dielectric constant （ε’） and the dielectric loss （ε＂） increase with temperature increasing and decrease with frequency increasing. The measurements also show that the ac conductivity （σac） increases with temperature and frequency increasing. The lnσac versus 1000/T plot shows two linear regions with different slopes which correspond to low （120 K–240 K） and high （280 K–400 K） temperature ranges for the two frequencies. It is found that activation energy increases with frequency and temperature increasing.

Evaluation of periodontal healing in class II furcation defects following guided tissue regeneration with two different types of poly lactic acid membranes

Background Guided tissue regeneration procedures provide predictable reconstruction of periodontal tissues in the treatment of furcation involvements in animals and huamns. This study was to compare long-term effectiveness of two different types of polylactic acid (PLA) membranes on periodontal regeneration in surgically created class II furcation defects in dogs.Methods Full thickness mucoperiosteal flap was raised on the buccal aspects of the experimental teeth and class II furcation defects having 5 mm vertical dimensions were created on mandibular premolar III and IV on each quadrant. The exposed root surfaces were thoroughly planed and PLA membranes were placed over the experimental defects on both sites. One site received liquid polymer membrane (LPM), and resorbable periodontal mesh (RPM) membranes were applied to the other site. The animals were sacrificed at 7 months after surgery and the specimens were processed for histological evaluation.Results The average length of new attachment formed on the treated roots in both groups ranged from 3. 02 mm to 4. 5 mm. Complete bone filling was observed at the furcation sites. No statistically significant differences were found between two membranes in any of the parameters (P>0. 05).Conclusion This study demonstrates favorable regenerative outcomes by the use of two different types of PLA membranes that could be used as alternatives for guided tissue regeneration (GTR).
