Based on the telluric field data from a Sino-France cooperation station and analysis of the linear characteristic of telluric field polarization, this paper puts forward a new method, called vertical projection to the polarization, to recognize seismic electrical anomaly from observation background. Through careful analysis of polarization variation in different time intervals, it is determined that the best time interval for the regression of polarization is 24 h. Telluric observational data from two earthquakes, one is Yongdeng M_s=5.8 earthquake on July 22, 1995, the other is west Tianzhu M_s=5.4 earthquake on June 1, 1996, are processed by this new method, it is interesting to discover that abnormal electrical signals appeared 28 days and respectively. The limit condition of using this method is discussed finally.

High gene flows promote close genetic relationship among finewool sheep populations(Ovis aries) in China

A total of eleven fault gouge samples were collected from the Daliushu Dam area in the Zhongwei-Tongxin Fault Zone(ZTFZ) and analyzed for the absorbed gas *** concentration of absorbed gas was between 0.04 and 1.65cm STP/g,and the chemicals were determined as mainly CO,N,H,Ar,and a few hydrocarbon *** ratios of N and Ar suggest the presence of water in the fault zone,leading to water-rock interaction and lower N/Ar *** and H showed some signatures implying abiogenic origin,with relatively high dCCO(–1.7‰ to 0.95‰) and H being positively correlated to CO(r = 0.83).We speculate that the CO and H are correlated to lithic origins in the fault zone,carbonate and silicate,*** the other hand,CH4 did show a biogenic signature,with low dC(–44.2‰ to–45.6‰).The variation trends among the absorbed gases in the fault profile show that the gas concentration is mainly related to the fault zone structure,petrology of the fault material,and *** total amounts of absorbed gases including H,CO,and Ar observed were higher at site F201 than those at site F3,and since the F201 site is known to be much more active than F3,we propose that CO,H,and Ar could be useful indicators of fault activity.

The aim of our present study was to construct genetic structure and relationships among Chinese fine-wool sheep breeds. 46 individuals from 25 breeds or strains were genotyped based on the Illumina Ovine 50K SNP array. Meanwhile, genetic variations among 482 individuals from 9 populations were genotyped with 10 microsatellites. In this study, we found high genetic polymorphisms for the microsatellites, while 7 loci in the Chinese superfine Merino strain （Xinjiang types）（CMS） and 5 loci in gansu alpine superfine-wool sheep strain （GSS） groups were found deviated from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium （HWE）. Genetic drift FsT=0.019 （P〈0.001） and high gene flows were detected in all the 7 fine-wool sheep populations. Phylogenetic analysis showed fine-wool sheep populations were clustered in a group independent from the Chinese indigenous breeds such that the 7 fine-wool sheep clustered distinct from Liangshan semifine-wool sheep （LS） and Hu sheep （HY） reflected by different population differentiation analyses. Overall, our findings suggested that all fine-wool sheep populations have close genetic relationship, which is consistent with their breeding progress. These populations, therefore, can be regarded as open-breeding populations with high levels of gene flows. Furthermore, the two superfine-wool strains, viz., CMS and GSS, might be formed by strong artificial selection and with frequent introduction of Australian Merino. Our results can assist in breeding of superfine-wool sheep and provide guidance for the cultivation of new fine-wool sheep breeds with different breeding objectives.

Giardia duodenalis is a common pathogen infecting human and many *** are numeruos related reports among the cattles of different breeds in recent ***,there is no investigation on *** inferting the cattle in Jiangxi *** our study,the prevalence and multilocus genotyping of *** in the cattles of different breeds in Jiangxi province were determined using the molecular *** 403 fecal samples collected from five cattle farms located in JiangxiProvince,34 samples(8.4%) were positive for *** based on the results of the nested PCR amplification of beta-giardin(bg) gene;20 samples(15.5%,20/129) were from Nanchang city,13 samples(7.8%,13/166) were from Gao’an city and 1 sample(0.93%,1/108) were from *** addition,the prevalence of the dairy cattle is the highest(23.6%,17/72),the second is the beef cattle(7.2%,16/223),and lowest is the buffalo for meat(0.9%,1/108).Multilocus sequence typing of *** based on bg,tpi(triose phosphate isomerase) and gdh(glutamate dehydrogenase) genes revealed two genotypes(assemblages A and E) that were identified in the cattles samples at three gene loci,the dominant genotype is the assemblage E,while the assemblage A is only *** sequence typing revealed that 5,16,and 34 samples were amplifiable on tpi,gdh,and bglocus,*** genotyping revealed 1 assemblage A multilocus genotype(MLG).Altogether,9,4 and3 subtypes of assemblage E were observed at the bg,gdh and tpi loci,respectively and we found 3 novel subtypes(E33-E35) in assemblage *** far as we know,this is the first investigation and analysis of *** in among cattle of different breeds in Jiangxi in the suothern China,which contributed to the prevention and treatment of *** in cattles and others animals in Jiangxi Province.

Parkinson’s disease(PD) is mainly characterized by a selective degeneration of the dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra and with bradykinesia,resting tremors,rigidity,and difficulty with voluntary movement. Baicalein is a flavonoid compound with antiPD activities found by high throughput screening based on the multi target network screening theory. In this paper,the rotenone induced SH-SY5 Y cell injuries model and PD rats models were used to study the effects and mechanism of baicalein. The results shown that Baicalein could effectively inhibit the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway activated by rotenone,increase the number of dopaminergic neurons by inhibiting neuronal apoptosis;protect and improve the synaptic structure,protective effect on synaptic plasticity and improve the function of dopamine neurons by regulating the levels of neurotransmitters in the striatum;Baicalein can improve behavior disorder of PD animal model through the above way. Baicalein also could reduce the rotenone induced elevation of intracellular ROS by acting on mitochondria,NADPH oxidase system,Nrf2 and its downstream antioxidant system,and play a role in the oxidative stress of PD animal model and cell model. Also,baicalein enhanced mitochondrial functions by acting on mitochondrial biogenesis,mitochondrial fusion and fission,mitochondrial autophagy,mitochondrial dynamics process of rotenone injury. Baicalein could inhibit α-synuclein aggregation of cell and animal of PD by acting on the giant CMA autophagy and autophagy and alleviating the degradation of α-synuclein blocking byrotenone. According the results,we suggested that baicalein exert anti PD effects by protecting the functions of mitochondria and improve the neurons. Baicalein should become a anti-PD drug with new targets.

Forest biomass carbon storage from multiple inventories over the past 30 years in gansu Province, China: implications from the age structure of major forest types

We used the forest inventory data of gansu Province, China to quantify carbon storage and carbon density changes by regional forest cover and by typical forest types in 1979-2006. Total forest area increased from 1.77 x 106 ha in 1979 to 2.32 x 106 ha in 2006, and the forest carbon storage, estimated by the continuous biomass expansion factor method, increased from 83.14 to 100.66 Tg, equivalent to a carbon accumulation rate of 0.0071 Tg per year during the period. Mean carbon densities were 44.83-48.50 t ha-1 and the values decreased slightly over the time period. Natural forests generated greater car- bon storage and density than did plantations. By regression analysis, forest stand age was an important parameter incarbon density studies. We developed various regression equations between carbon density and stand age for major types of natural forests and plantations in the region. Our results can be used for proper selection of re-forestation species and efficient management of young and middle-aged forests, offering great potential for future carbon sequestra- tion, especially in arid and semi-arid regions.

Vertical-axis wind turbines(VAWTs)have been widely used in urban environments,which contain dust and experience strong ***,airfoils for VAWTs in urban environments have received considerably less research attention than those for horizontal-axis wind turbines(HAWTs).In this study,the sensitivity of a new VAWT airfoil developed at the Lanzhou University of Technology(LUT)to roughness was investigated via a wind tunnel *** results show that the LUT airfoil is less sensitive to roughness at a roughness height of<0.35 ***,the drag bucket of the LUT airfoil decreases with increasing roughness ***,the loads on the LUT airfoil during dynamic stall were studied at different turbulence intensities using a numerical method at a tip-speed ratio of *** the stall,the turbulence intensity did not considerably affect the normal or tangential force coefficients of the LUT ***,after the stall,the normal force coefficient varied obviously at low turbulence ***,as the turbulence intensity increased,the normal and tangential force coefficients decreased rapidly,particularly in the downwind region of the VAWT.

Background:Toxoplasmosis,caused by the protozoan parasite Toxoplasma gondii,is one of the most common zoonosis worldwide,affecting a wide range of warm-blooded mammals and birds ***,no information on *** infection in pet birds in China is ***,this study was performed to determine the prevalence of *** infection in pet birds in gansu province,***:A total of 687 blood samples were collected from pet birds(Carduelis spinus,Alauda gulgula,Cocothraustes migratorlus) in three representative administrative regions in gansu province,northwest China between August 2011 and September *** antibodies were determined using the modified agglutination test(MAT).Genomic DNA was extracted from the brain tissues of seropositive pet birds and *** B1 gene was amplified using a semi-nested *** samples giving positive B1 amplification were then genetically characterized using multi-locus ***:The overall *** seroprevalence was11.21%(77/687).*** had the highest *** seroprevalence(11.65%),followed by ***(11.39%) and ***(5.26%),these differences were not statistically significant(P > 0.05).Of 77 DNA samples,8 were positive for the *** B1 gene,four showed complete genotyping *** one genotype(the Type Ⅱ variant:ToxoDB genotype #3) was ***:The results of the present survey indicated the presence of *** infection in pet birds in gansu province,*** data provide base-line information for the execution of control strategies against *** infection in pet *** our knowledge,this is the first report documenting the occurrence of *** prevalence and genotype in pet birds in China.

Accurate high-resolution maps of oil palm plantations underpin effective management of environmental and socio-economic impacts at global,regional,and national ***,young industrial and highly irregular small-holder plantations are mostly unmapped and not included in official FAO *** issue is addressed here by discriminating global oil palm plantation in 2020 into four subclasses:Industrial Mature Oil Palm(IMOP);Industrial Young Oil Palm(IYOP);Smallholder Mature Oil Palm(SMOP);and Smallholder Young Oil Palm(SYOP).Data,resolved to 4.77 m,from Planet&NICFI,Sentinel-1/2,were combined with other layers using the image-oriented classification and regression tree(CART)algorithm which performed best in classification *** show that SMOP dominates distributional extent,but it was also the most accurately mapped subclass typically found at 500–1000 m *** had the most extensive altitude range of 500–1300 m,while IYOP and SYOP were found at similar altitudes of 500–800 m and 500–900 m *** developments in South East Asia show oil palm plantations expanding into new areas with a slope of 24 *** provide data to support Sustainable Development Goal by assisting future oil palm-related development planning and monitoring in the world’s major oil palm-growing countries.
