Neurogenic bladder (NB) mainly occurs in patients with spinal cord injury (SCI). The pathological basis of NB is the occurrence of lesions in the urination control center, which requires systematic treatment. Western medicine has many treatment methods for this disease, which can alleviate the symptoms of the disease. However, the radical effect is not ideal and there are many adverse reactions. In comparison, acupuncture can improve the residual urine volume of NB patients and regulate the related indexes of urodynamics. There are many kinds of acupuncture therapies, such as simple acupuncture and moxibustion, which can comprehensively improve the therapeutic effect and obtain a better disease prognosis. Therefore, this article elaborates on the pathogenesis of SCI complicated with NB, the treatment mechanism, and treatment methods of acupuncture and moxibustion to provide a reference for clinical treatment.

Dioxins are ubiquitous endocrine-disrupting substances,but determining the effects and benchmark doses in situations of coexposure is highly *** objective of this study was to assess the relationship between dioxin andgestational diabetes mellitus(GDM),calculate the benchmark dose(BMD)of dioxin in coexposure scenarios,and derive a daily exposure threshold using an optimized physiologically based toxicokinetic(PBTK)*** on a nested casecontrol study including 77 cases with GDM and 154 controls,serum levels of 29 dioxin-like compounds(DLCs)along with 10 perfluoroalkyl acids(PFAAs),seven polybrominated diphenyl ethers(PBDEs),and five non-dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls(ndl-PCBs)were measured at 9−16 weeks of *** machine kernel regression(BKMR)was employed to identify significant chemicals,and probit and logistic models were used to calculate BMD adjusted for significant chemicals.A physiologically based toxicokinetic(PBTK)model was optimized using polyfluorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans(PFDD/Fs)data by the Bayesian−Monte Carlo Markov chain method and was used to determine the daily dietary exposure *** median serum level of total dioxin toxic equivalent(TEQ)was 7.72 pg TEQ/g *** regression analysis revealed that individuals in the fifth quantile of total TEQ level had significantly higher odds of developing GDM compared to those in the first quantile(OR,8.87;95%CI 3.19,27.58).The BKMR analysis identified dioxin TEQ and BDE-153 as the compounds with the greatest *** binary logistic and probit models showed that the BMD10(benchmark dose corresponding to a 10%extra risk)and BMDL_(10)(lower bound on the BMD_(10))were 3.71 and 3.46 pg TEQ/g fat,respectively,when accounting for coexposure to BDE-153 up to the 80%*** the optimized PBTK model and modifying factor,it was estimated that daily exposure should be below 4.34 pg TEQ kg^(−1)bw week^(−1)in order to not reach a harmful serum concen

Molecular Characteristics of Cephalosporin-Resistant Neisseria gonorrhoeae Strains in China:A Retrospective Study

Objective:An increasing level of antimicrobial resistance to extended-spectrum cephalosporins has been reported,so we conducted this study to investigate the molecular characteristics of cephalosporin resistant Neisseria gonorrhoeae(NG)strains isolated from China Gonococcal Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance Programme(China-GRSP).Methods:In total,2,038 NG isolates were collected from the China-GRSP between 2015 and *** multiantigen sequence typing(NG-MAST),multilocus sequence typing(MLST),and NG sequence typing for antimicrobial resistance(NG-STAR)were used to determine characteristics and resistant determinants of cephalosporin-resistant *** results are described as ***:Seventy-four(3.6%)cephalosporin-resistant isolates were ***_(ST7363)was the most prevalent MLST among cefixime-resistant(CFX-R)isolates,whereas MLST_(ST7365)(n=8)in was the most prevalent sequence type among ceftriaxone-resistant(CRO-R)***-R strains were mainly associated with penA-X(n=27,44.3%),penA-XIII(n=6,9.8%),penA-XVIII(n=5,8.2%),and CRO-R strains were mainly related to penA-XVIII(n=10,25.6%),penA-43(n=9,23.1%),penA-XIII(n=7,17.9%).Conclusion:The main conclusion of this study is that the predominant cephalosporin-resistant clones in China include locally emerged and imported *** CFX-R and CRO-R strains are primarily related to penA mutations,and their predominant genotypes are *** the increase in international travel,tracking high-risk-resistant clones and identifying outbreaks and their associations with epidemiological characteristics are critical to improve public health.

Atmospheric radionuclides from Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear accident detected in Lanzhou, China

After the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant accident on March 11,2011,the radioactivity released from the accident was transported around the globe by atmospheric *** radioactivity monitoring program on atmospheric particulate in Lanzhou,China was activated by GSCDC to detect the input radionuclides through atmospheric *** artificial radionuclides were detected and measured in aerosol samples from March 26 to May 2,*** peaked activity concentrations(in m Bq/m3)were:1.194(131I),0.231(137Cs),0.173(134Cs)and 0.008(136Cs),detected on April 6,*** average activity ratio of131I/137Cs and134Cs/137Cs in air were 13.5 and *** significant increase of137Cs activity concentration,one order of magnitude higher than pre-Fukushima accident levels,in ground level aerosol was observed in 2013,as its resuspension from *** back-trajectory analysis simulated by NOAA-ARL HYSPLIT shows a direct transfer of the air masses released from Fukushima to Lanzhou across the Pacific Ocean,North America and Europe at the height close to 9000 m *** value of effective dose for inhalation is close to one millionth of the annual limit for the general public.

Blast disease,caused by the hemibiotrophic ascomycete fungus,Magnaporthe oryzae,is a significant threat to sustainable rice production *** have shown that the blast fungus secretes vast arrays of functionally diverse proteins into the host cell for a successful disease ***,the final destinations of these effector proteins inside the host cell and their role in advancing fungal pathogenesis remain a ***,we reported that a putative mitochondrial targeting non-classically secreted protein(MoMtp)positively regulates conidiogenesis and appressorium maturation in ***,MoM TP gene deletion mutant strains triggered a hypersensitive response when inoculated on rice leaves displaying that MoMtp is essential for the virulence of *** addition,cell wall and oxidative stress results indicated that MoMtp is likely involved in the maintenance of the structural integrity of the fungus *** study also demonstrates an upregulation in the expression pattern of the MoMTP gene at all stages of infection,indicating its possible regulatory role in host invasion and the infectious development of ***,Agrobacterium infiltration and sheath inoculation confirmed that MoMtpGFP protein is predominantly localized in the host mitochondria of tobacco leaf and rice *** together,we conclude that MoMtp protein likely promotes the normal conidiation and pathogenesis of *** and might have a role in disturbing the proper functioning of the host mitochondria during pathogen invasion.

Influenza viruses contribute substantially to respiratory diseases worldwide,including severe lower respiratory tract illnesses,hospitalization,and *** are approximately a billion cases of seasonal influenza worldwide annually,including 3 to 5 million cases of severe illness and 290,000 to 650,000 respiratory deaths.[1]Vaccination remains the best available intervention to prevent morbidity and mortality caused by influenza viruses circulating in humans,especially for older people with underlying health conditions,such as asthma,diabetes,and cardiovascular *** with influenza virus can cause the greatest morbidity and mortality effects.[2]However,the effectiveness of traditional standard-dose inactivated influenza vaccines is not satisfactory,with vaccine effectiveness ranging from 20%in years in which the vaccine is antigenically mismatched to the circulating viral strain[3]to 40%to 60%in years in which the vaccine is antigenically well matched.[4]

Insights into the Impact of Bifidobacterium bifidum， B. breve， and B. longum on the Immune Response Against Salmonella Infection in Neonatal Rats

Infants exhibit diminished susceptibility to external infections， a phenomenon closely linked to the pervasive presence of the bifidobacterial community within their intestinal tract. Nonetheless， a significant knowledge gap remains concerning the distinct species of bifidobacteria initiating anti-infection immune responses during the early developmental stages. In this study， the impact of early intervention with Bifidobacterium bifidum (B. bifidum)， B. breve， and B. longum on neonatal rats infected with Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium (S. typhimurium) SL1344 were compared. The study encompasses various immunity levels， including gut immunity， central immunity (thymus)， peripheral immunity (spleen)， and brain immunity. Following Salmonella infection， significant alterations in neonatal rats were observed in growth and developmental levels， immune markers， cytokine levels， balance of T lymphocyte subpopulations， intestinal barrier function， and blood-brain barrier integrity. Compared with B. breve and B. longum， B. bifidum demonstrated more pronounced efficacy in regulating these physiological processes. By conducting multi-level analyses of gut microbiota， bifidobacterial community， colonic content metabolomics， and serum metabolomics， the significance of B. bifidum's role is underscored， and the immune-enhancing function of messenger metabolites is unveiled. Among these metabolites， γ-L-Glutamyl-L-glutamic acid and Orotic acid were found to be shared by all three species， while Hippuric acid and 1a，1b-dihomo Prostaglandin F2α were unique to B. bifidum， and DL-Arginine was specific to B. longum. Overall， this study has provided novel insights into the intervention and immunomodulation by Bifidobacterium in early-life infections， emphasizing the significant role of B. bifidum.

The use of next-generation probiotics （NGP） in pigs for combating diseases has been subject to limited *** we explored the potential of a well-known NGP candidate Akkermansia muciniphila targeting pig gut *** the first screening experiment,we found that the abundance of *** peaked at 14 d old but decreased at weaning （21 d old;Pcontrol （CON）,high/low live *** （HA/LA）,and high/low heatkilled *** （HIA/LIA）.From 1 to 28 d old,the CON group received gastric infusion of anaerobic sterile saline every other day;the HA and LA groups were gavaged every other day with 1×1010CFU/5 m L and 5×10～8CFU/5 mL live ***,respectively;and the HIA and LIA groups were gavaged every other day with 1×1010CFU/5 mL and 5×10～8CFU/5 mL heat-killed ***,*** d 29,pigs in the CON group were randomly and equally divided into two groups,one of which was named the enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli （ETEC） group,and all groups except CON received a 5-d ETEC *** supplementation of *** numerically reduced the diarrhea rate of weaned pigs compared to the pigs that only received the ETEC challenge （P=0.57）,but the LIA group had a higher diarrhea rate than the CON group （P<0.05）.Consistent with this,the supplementation of *** improved the small intestinal morphology and structure,proportion of CD4+T lymphocytes in the blood,as well as the expression of genes related to intestinal barrier and antioxidant indices of pigs with ETEC challenge,especially for the LA group （P<0.05）.Meanwhile,*** supplementation reduced the expression of ETEC virulence factor genes in the ileum and colon of pigs challenged by ETEC （P<0.05）.Therefore,*** may protect the intestinal health of weaned piglets from damage caused by

The epidemiological characteristics and distributions of two epidemics in Fujian Province of Southeast China were attributed to the complex interactions among variant,host,and non-pharmaceutical interventions(NPIs).All reported cases in the Putian epidemic(September 8–October 2,2021,Delta variant B.1.617.2)and Fuzhou epidemic(October 22–November 18,2022,Omicron variant BA.5.2)were classified by sex,age group,occupation,and location in this *** surveillance data from the Fujian provincial center for disease control and prevention,we established a virus-oriented SVEIR(Susceptible–Vaccinated–Exposed–Infected–Recovered)model to investigate the dynamic evolution features of these two variants and the effects of *** optimal simulations were carried out with variants and scenario *** scenario investigations showed that NPIs significantly reduced the transmission risk and infection scales of COVID-19,and that the Omicron variant was more infectious than the Delta ***,the dynamic investigations revealed the increasing tendencies from Delta to Omicron,such as the basic reproduction number,infection rate,percentage of high-risk cases,and the growth *** tendencies were also identified,such as the average recovery period,the awareness delay,and the percentage of symptomatic *** study highlighted that NPIs played critical roles in successfully containing the two *** interventions are strongly recommended to public health policymakers.
