This paper examines the significance of spatial externalities for youths’ school-to-training transitions in Germany. For this purpose, it is necessary to address the methodological question of how an individual’s spatial context has to be operationalized with respect to both its extent and the problem of spatial autocorrelation. Our analyses show that the “zone of influence” comprises of the whole of Germany, not only close-by districts, and that these effects differ between structurally weak and strong regions. Consequently, assuming that only close proximity affects individual outcomes may disregard relevant contextual influences, and for spatial models that require an a priori definition of the weights for spatial units, it may be erroneous to make a decision based on this assumption. Concerning spatial autocorrelation, we found that neglecting local spatial autocorrelation at the context level causes considerable bias to the estimates, especially for districts that are close to the home district.

Purpose: To present a method for systematically mapping diversity of publication patterns at the author level in the social sciences and humanities in terms of publication type, publication language and ***/methodology/approach: In a follow-up to the hard partitioning clustering by Verleysen and Weeren in 2016, we now propose the complementary use of fuzzy cluster analysis, making use of a membership coefficient to study gradual differences between publication styles among authors within a scholarly discipline. The analysis of the probability density function of the membership coefficient allows to assess the distribution of publication styles within and between ***: As an illustration we analyze 1,828 productive authors affiliated in Flanders, Belgium. Whereas a hard partitioning previously identified two broad publication styles, an international one vs. a domestic one, fuzzy analysis now shows gradual differences among authors. Internal diversity also varies across disciplines and can be explained by researchers’ specialization and dissemination *** limitations: The dataset used is limited to one country for the years 2000–2011; a cognitive classification of authors may yield a different result from the affiliation-based classification used *** implications: Our method is applicable to other bibliometric and research evaluation contexts, especially for the social sciences and humanities in non-Anglophone ***/value: The method proposed is a novel application of cluster analysis to the field of bibliometrics. Applied to publication patterns at the author level in the social sciences and humanities, for the first time it systematically documents intra-disciplinary diversity.

On October 9, a delegation of Chinese academics led by Professor Jin Bei, Director of the institute of Industrial Economics at the Chinese Academy of social sciences, traveled to Sweden as the guests of Stockholm University for one week, a trip that happened to coincide with the awarding of the Nobel prize in economics. On the afternoons of October 10th and October 12th, the delegation had the privilege to have two conversations with Per Krusell, Chairman of the Nobel Committee and a renowned professor at the institute for International Economic Studies （lIES） at Stockholm University. Dr. Krusell, originally from Sweden, has taught at several of the world＇s leading universities, including Princeton University.

The proliferation of robot accounts on social media platforms has posed a significant negative impact,necessitating robust measures to counter network anomalies and safeguard content *** robot detection has emerged as a pivotal yet intricate task,aimed at mitigating the dissemination of misleading *** graphbased approaches have attained remarkable performance in this realm,they grapple with a fundamental limitation:the homogeneity assumption in graph convolution allows social robots to stealthily evade detection by mingling with genuine human *** unravel this challenge and thwart the camouflage tactics,this work proposed an innovative social robot detection framework based on enhanced HOmogeneity and Random Forest(HORFBot).At the core of HORFBot lies a homogeneous graph enhancement strategy,intricately woven with edge-removal techniques,tometiculously dissect the graph intomultiple revealing ***,leveraging the power of contrastive learning,the proposed methodology meticulously trains multiple graph convolutional networks,each honed to discern nuances within these tailored *** culminating stage involves the fusion of these feature-rich base classifiers,harmoniously aggregating their insights to produce a comprehensive detection *** experiments on three social robot detection datasets have shown that this method effectively improves the accuracy of social robot detection and outperforms comparative methods.

Meta-analysis of the Occurrence Characteristics and Influencing Factors of Microplastics in Agricultural Soil in China

The potential threat of soil microplastics（MPs，particle sizes smaller than 5 mm）to the agricultural environment and food security production has become a hot issue，but there are few systematic studies on the characteristics and influencing factors of MP pollution in agricultural soil in China. Based on the data of soil MPs and related environmental factors（temperature，precipitation，soil pH，and organic carbon）and social and economic factors（permanent population，gross regional product per capita，gross industrial product per capita，and cultivated land area per capita）extracted from 6 694 samples from 85 published studies from 2020 to 2023，meta-analysis was performed. The characteristics of MPs pollution in agricultural soil and the key factors affecting the accumulation of MPs in soil in six administrative regions of China were analyzed. The results showed that soil MPs had six colors：（semi-）transparent，black，white，yellow，blue，green，and red. There were five kinds of shapes：fragment，fiber，film，particle，and foam. The particle size was between 0.01 and 5.0 mm. There were nine types of MPs：polyethylene（PE），polypropylene（PP），polystyrene（PS），polyester（PES），polyethylene terephthalate（PET），polyvinyl chloride （PVC），rayon（RY），polyacrylonitrile（PAN），and polyamide（PA）. The abundance gradient of soil MPs in different regions was as follows：South-central region > Northwest region > Southwest region > East China region > North China region > Northeast region. The（semi-）transparent（27.6%），fragmented（32.2%），0.01~0.5 mm（66.3%），and PE （37%）types of MPs had the highest detection rates. The characteristics of soil MPs are the result of natural environmental factors（temperature，precipitation，soil pH，organic carbon）and social factors（permanent population，gross regional product per capita，gross industrial product per capita，cultivated land area per capita）. © 2025 Science Press. Taosi is an archaeological site in Xiangfen county, Shanxi province. It is considered as a capital city site with the rudiment of an early country in Longshan Times. In this work, the black pottery coating was found on the surface of black and grey pottery of Longshan times and confirmed by scientific studies for the first time. It filled in the blank of pottery coating study in this time period at the Yellow River Valley, as well as supplied a new study method of "black skin pottery" besides the carburization craft. In addition, according to the archaeological materials, we inferred that the wares with this pottery coating might be only used by the nobility at that time.
