Pepper mild mottle virus coat protein interacts with pepper chloroplast outer envelope membrane protein OMP24 to inhibit antiviral immunity in plants

Pepper mild mottle virus(PMMoV)is a devastating viral pathogen of pepper(Capsicum annuum)but it is unclear whether and how peppers protect against PMMoV *** expression of the chloroplast outer membrane protein 24(OMP24)of *** was upregulated under PMMoV infection and it interacted with PMMoV coat protein(CP).Silencing of OMP24 in either *** or Nicotiana benthamiana facilitated PMMoV infection,whereas overexpression of *** OMP24 in transgenic plants inhibited PMMoV *** *** OMP24(CaOMP24)and *** OMP24(NbOMP24)localized to the chloroplast and have a moderately hydrophobic transmembrane domain that is necessary for their *** of CaOMP24 induced stromules,perinuclear chloroplast clustering,and accumulation of reactive oxygen species(ROS),the typical defense responses of chloroplasts transferring the retrograde signaling to the nucleus to regulate resistance *** expression of PR1 and PR2 was also upregulated significantly in plants overexpressing ***-interaction of OMP24 was demonstrated and was required for OMP24-mediated plant *** with PMMoV CP interfered with the self-interaction of OMP24 and impaired OMP24-induced stromules,perinuclear chloroplast clustering and ROS *** results demonstrate the defense function of OMP24 in pepper during viral infection and suggest a possible mechanism by which PMMoV CP modulates the plant defense to facilitate viral infection.

Eco-vegetation Construction of the Community gardens in US and Its Implications

Community garden is a popular vegetation landscape mode with production,ecology and life functions. On the basis of eco-service functions of community garden,this paper selected 14 such gardens in Los Angeles and studies them by field survey. It researched the response of diversity of urban vegetation varieties and distribution pattern to planters' ethnic background and construction mode,then it analyzed its implications for China's urban green space construction and leisure agriculture. A total of 439 varieties of plant were studied,indicating that community garden is an important species pool of urban ecosystem; it can maintain rich native taxa resources; plant function is mainly edible plant, which plays a great role in protecting ethnic traditional culture and regional native culture; landscape structure and function of vegetation are influenced by ethnic background and construction mode. Researches show that the community garden,as the intersection landscape of ecological diversity and cultural diversity,is a feasible construction mode for realizing urban green infrastructure construction and leisure agricultural development. China should learn from this experience,take into consideration interested parties when making green space planning and conducting eco-vegetation construction. ＜正＞ The rice-wheat cropping systems are of immense importance for cereal production in bangladesh . but yield stagnation and yield decline are major threats to the sustainability of rice - wheat systems . Legumes considered as ameliorative crops can play an important role for the sustainability of this cereal - cereal cropping system . Mung bean , especially recent high yielding photoperiod insensitive short duration varieties is the most important legume , can be fitted well in different cropping pattern in different seasons in bangladesh . There are greater scope for placing this crop in windows of cereal - cereal cropping system . geographic Information System is a powerful tool to asses the potential areas suitable for crop production . The present study is aimed at using gIS as a tool for spatial data analysis to assess crop suitability classification for mung bean in different AEZ of bangladesh in rice - wheat cropping system . Parameters from AEZ soil association database have been ranked , converted to grid format and spatial model is constructed for potential mung bean cultivable area estimation . Three suitability classes are categorized as 1 for suitable , 2 for moderately suitable and 3 for not suitable . The model is constructed for overlay operation using the Arc View interactive Model builder . After the overlay analysis , suitability map for mung bean cultivation is produced . In bangladesh with limited land resources having declining productivity , it is important to characterize each unit of land for best utilization through efficient land use planning . The output maps will be used as a guideline for technology transfer and expansion of this valuable pulse crop and contribute to the sustainability of rice -wheat system .

Integrating Crops-Tree Systems with Outgrower Schemes and Food Security

Outgrower Schemes have been implemented in different parts of the world to provide wood to forest and other companies and as income alternatives for farmers in rural areas. They have been considered by some researchers and practitioners as important advances in the area of planted forest and promoted by governments and forest companies in partnership with rural farmers and communities. Considering the importance of subsistence crops and forest products to smallholders and consumers and the economic viability of agroforestry, attention is given in this paper to Outgrower Schemes that combine tree planting with agroforestry, to contribute to food security and environment preservation in developing countries. The issue of Outgrower Schemes through integrated crops-tree systems was raised in a previous study of Outgrower Schemes in brazil, commissioned by the FAO1. This paper examines, based on the research done for that study, the views and perspectives of the companies＇ personnel, the tree growers that participate in the programs studied, and other stakeholders＇ related institutions involved in such schemes with regard to the promotion of Outgrower Schemes through integrated crops-tree systems, linking them with agroforestry, which is a way those Outgrower Schemes can contribute to food security and environment preservation goals.

The Evaluation on Ecological Agricultural Development in Sichuan Province on the basis of grey Relational Analysis

by using the grey relational model,14 indexes of ecological agricultural development in Sichuan Province from 1997 to 2008 are *** to the relational degree results,the ecological agricultural development in 12 years can be divided into three stages:the first stage is from 1997 to 2000,with the shape of inverted U;the second stage is from 2001 to 2004,belonging to transition stage with slow growth rate;the third stage is from 2005 to 2008,belonging to the stage of rapid *** draws conclusion that per capita grain yield is an important element for evaluating ecological agricultural ***,reducing the energy consumption of per unit production,improving labor productivity and increasing agricultural science and technology application and input on agricultural infrastructure construction are the engine for developing Sichuan ecological agriculture.

Dear Editor,Since the first human infection of influenza A （H7N9） virus in Shanghai in February 2013 （gao et al., 2013）, the virus has rapidly spread out to 14 provinces of China and caused more than 139 cases of human infection with 47 deaths as of December 1, 2013 （Li et al., 2014）. In 2014, 258 new cases with 99 deaths were reported （as of April 8, 2014）, forming another infection peak in the new influenza season in China. Zhejiang and guangdong Provinces have reported the majority of the cases of the new influenza season. The first re-emerging H7N9 virus was reported to have high identity to earlier ones with only five mutations in NA （Chen et al., 2013b）, and implying the continuity of H7N9 infections from the previous influenza season would have featured the second H7N9 influenza virus season.

Intermodal Transport of Ethanol in brazil:A Simulation Using Partial Equilibrium

The search for renewable energy has put ethanol on another level,making brazil the second largest producer in the *** aim of this study was to analyze ethanol transportation alternatives in the face of the current logistics in *** was proposed a partial equilibrium model analyzing three scenarios:the first concerned a base scenario(scenario 1),the second estimated a 15%decrease in railroad freight(scenario 2),and the third included new national pipeline projects(scenario 3).Scenario 3 showed the highest trading volumes with a 0.20%increase compared with the base scenario,indicating transport systems that prioritize *** was also highlighted that the multimodality assumptions of scenarios 2 and 3 resulted in competitiveness gains in the international market,because all the routes destined for foreign markets are multimodal.

There is high pressure for investment capital and financial services for agricultural activities necessary for poverty reduction,economic growth,sustainable development and food *** study investigated the long-term causation between banking sector development and agricultural productivity in the six Central African Economic and Monetary Community(CEMAC)states from 1990 to 2018,hypothesizing no causation between banking sector and agriculture *** the autoregressive distributed lag(ARDL)model and vector error correction model(VECM),the study demonstrates that banking sector and agricultural productivity in the CEMAC region are *** implies long-run relationship exists between banking sector and agricultural productivity in the CEMAC *** results reveal that bidirectional causality exists between banking sector and agricultural productivity in the CEMAC *** is insinuating that in the CEMAC region,agricultural productivity and banking sector development are operating in *** findings indicate the reason to establish the banking sector using proper macroeconomic,legal and regulatory policies to boost agricultural productivity by creating incentive systems that channel more credit to agricultural investment and promoting the banking system.

Nitrogen Metabolising Enzymes and Photosynthetic Pigments as Influenced by Nitrogen Application in Oilseed Rape(brassica napus L.)

Nitrogen(N)assimilation is a wide pathway in plants because of its fundamental importance for growth and *** transport,assimilation and recycling of nitrogen is a highly complex and regulated process,as it is the mineral nutrient that is required in great abundance by the *** approach to enhance agriculture sustainability is dependent on exploration of the elite germplasm where new cultivars could perform better even under low *** test the effect of nitrogen levels at 100 and 125 kg ha-1 on photosynthetic pigments and N assimilation in oilseed rape(*** L.)canola variety gSC-7 and hybrid Hyola PAC 401 were selected for comparison with new hybrid PgSH-52 in pipeline.N assimilating enzymes were assayed at vegetative,flowering and siliquing stages of crop growth to visualise the impact of N on the *** assimilating enzymes were highest at flowering stage and enhanced with increased N *** reductase(NR)activity improved by 11.5%,nitrite reductase(NiR)by 24.2%,glutamine synthetase(gS)by 12.2%and glutamate synthase(gOgAT)by 35.2%over recommended N dose(N100)at flowering *** PAC 401 registered maximum enzymatic activities trailed by gSC-7 at all the three stages of crop *** existed within the genotypes for photosynthetic pigments which varied with N *** a,chlorophyll b,total chlorophyll and carotenoids increased with nitrogen at 125 kg N ha^(-1)whereas chlorophyll a/b declined at three stages of crop *** flowering total chlorophyll and carotenoids were maximum and enhanced by 12.8%and 5%respectively with higher nitrogen level.

Diesel Consumption and CO2 Emissions in Agricultural Crops： An Estimation Model and a Forestry-based Neutralization Proposal

This research presented a mathematical model to calculate the consumption of diesel oil and the respective emissions of CO2from 41 agricultural crops （38 permanent and 3 temporary） in brazil. It contains data obtained between 2000 and 2012, from accreditedbibliographic sources. In addition to spreadsheets containing diesel consumption, resulting from the analysis of the productive processes,this research presents data on energy conversion and forest development used to subsidize CO2 emissions and mitigation *** for C sequestration of the atmosphere, four options of forest projects were systematized：（1） reforestation with fast growingspecies; （2） forest protection projects, with enrichment plantations; （3） implementation of agroforestry systems （1 st cycle）; and （4） urbanafforestation projects （streets and parks）. Such alternatives are in line with the proposals of the ＂sectorial plan for mitigation andadaptation to climate change for the consolidation of a low C emission in agriculture＂, of the brazilian Agricultural ResearchCorporation （EMbRAPA）. The results show that three temporary products （soybean, sugarcane and cotton） are responsible, for at least,85% of all CO2 emissions, comparatively the low consumption of diesel oil verified in the management of the 38 permanent productsstudied in this research. Therefore, in order to contribute to the reduction of the release of CO2 into the atmosphere, perennial crops andecologically rational extractivism should be more encouraged and more supported by the public authorities.
