Spatio-temporal Evolution Characteristics and Driving Forces of Winter Urban Heat Island:A Case Study of Rapid Urbanization Area of fuzhou City,China

Under the influence of anthropogenic and climate change,the problems caused by urban heat island(UHI)has become increasingly prominent.In order to promote urban sustainable development and improve the quality of human settlements,it is significant for exploring the evolution characteristics of urban thermal environment and analyzing its driving forces.Taking the Landsat series images as the basic data sources,the winter land surface temperature(LST)of the rapid urbanization area of fuzhou City in China was quantitatively retrieved from 2001 to 2021.Combing comprehensively the standard deviation ellipse model,profile analysis and GeoDetector model,the spatio-temporal evolution characteristics and influencing factors of the winter urban thermal environment were systematically analyzed.The results showed that the winter LST presented an increasing trend in the study area during 2001–2021,and the winter LST of the central urban regions was significantly higher than the suburbs.There was a strong UHI effect from 2001 to 2021with an expansion trend from the central urban regions to the suburbs and coastal areas in space scale.The LST of green lands and wetlands are significantly lower than croplands,artificial surface and unvegetated lands.Vegetation and water bodies had a significant mitigation effect on UHI,especially in the micro-scale.The winter UHI had been jointly driven by the underlying surface and socio-economic factors in a nonlinear or two-factor interactive enhancement mode,and socio-economic factors had played a leading role.This research could provide data support and decision-making references for rationally planning urban layout and promoting sustainable urban development.

Tetrathiafulvalene esters with high redox potentials and improved solubilities for non-aqueous redox flow battery applications

The exploitation of high performance redox-active substances is critically important for the development of non-aqueous redoxﬂow batteries.Herein,three tetrathiofulvalene(TTF)derivatives with different substitution groups,namely TTF diethyl ester(TTFDE),TTF tetramethyl ester(TTFTM),and TTF tetraethyl ester(TTFTE),are prepared and their energy storage properties are evaluated.It has been found that the redox potential and solubility of these TTF derivatives in conventional carbonate electrolytes increases with the number of ester groups.The battery with a catholyte of 0.2 mol L^(-1) of TTFTE delivers a speciﬁc capacity of more than 10 Ah L^(-1) at the current density of 0.5 C with two discharge voltage platforms locating at as high as 3.85 and 3.60 V vs.Li/Liþ.Its capacity retention can be improved from 2.34 Ah L^(-1) to 3.60 Ah L^(-1) after 100 cycles by the use of an anion exchange membrane to block the crossover of TTF species.The excellent cycling stability of the TIF esters is supported by their well-delocalized electrons,as revealed by the density function theory calculations.Therefore,the introduction of more and larger electron-withdrawing groups is a promising strategy to simultaneously increase the redox-potential and solubility of redox-active ma-terials for non-aqueous redoxﬂow batteries.

Interface property of dissimilar Ti-6Al-4V/AA1050 composite laminate made by non-equal channel lateral co-extrusion and heat treatment

The purpose of this paper is to examine the effect of processing parameters and subsequent heat treatments on the microstructures and bonding strengths of Ti-6Al-4V/AA1050 laminations formed via a non-equal channel lateral co-extrusion process.The microstructural evolution and growth mechanism in the diffusion layer were discussed further to optimize the bonding quality by appropriately adjusting process parameters.Scanning electron microscopes(SEM),energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS),and X-ray diffraction(XRD)were used to characterize interfacial diffusion layers.The shear test was used to determine the mechanical properties of the interfacial diffusion layer.The experimental results indicate that it is possible to co-extrusion Ti-6Al-4V/AA1050 compound profiles using non-equal channel lateral co-extrusion.Different heat treatment processes affect the thickness of the diffusion layer.When the temperature and time of heat treatment increase,the thickness of the reaction layers increases dramatically.Additionally,the shear strength of the Ti-6Al-4V/AA1050 composite interface is proportional to the diffusion layer thickness.It is observed that a medium interface thickness results in superior mechanical performance when compared to neither a greater nor a lesser interface thickness.Microstructural characterization of all heat treatments reveals that the only intermetallic compound observed in the diffusion layers is TiAl_(3).Due to the inter-diffusion of Ti and Al atoms,the TiAl_(3) layer grows primarily at AA1050/TiAl_(3) interfaces.

Anti-abrasion collagen fiber-based membrane functionalized by UiO-66-NH_(2)with ultra-high efficiency and stability for oil-in-water emulsions separation

Membrane separation strategies offer promising platform for the emulsion separation.However,the low mechanical strength of membrane separation layers and the trade-off between separation flux and efficiency present significant challenges.In this study,we report a CFM@UiO-66-NH_(2)membrane with high separation flux,efficiency and stability,through utilizing a robust anti-abrasion collagen fiber membrane(CFM)as the multifunctional support and UiO-66-NH_(2)by an in-situ growth as the separation layer.The high mechanical strength of the CFM compensated for the weakness of the separation layer,while the charge-breaking effect of UiO-66-NH_(2),along with the size sieving of its constituent separating layers and the capillary effect of the collagen fibers,contributed to the potential for efficient separation.Additionally,the CFM@UiO-66-NH_(2)membrane exhibited superhydrophilic properties,making it suitable for separating oil-in-water microemulsions and nanoemulsions stabilized by anionic surfactants.The membrane demonstrated remarkable separation efficiencies of up to 99.960%and a separation flux of370.05 L·m^(-2)·h^(-1).Moreover,it exhibits stability,durability,and abrasion resistance,maintaining excellent separation performance even when exposed to strong acids and alkalis without any damage to its structure and performance.After six cycles of reuse,it achieved a separation flux of 417.97 L·m^(-2)·h^(-1)and a separation efficiency of 99.747%.Furthermore,after undergoing 500 cycles of strong abrasion,the separation flux remained at 124.39 L·m^(-2)·h^(-1),with a separation efficiency of 99.992%.These properties make it suitable for the long-term use in harsh operating environments.We attribute these properties to the electrostatic effect resulting from the amino group on UiO-66-NH_(2)and its in-situ growth on the CFM,which forms a size-screening separation layer.Our work highlights the potential of the CFM@UiO-66-NH_(2)membrane as an environmentally friendly size-screening material for the efficient emulsion wastewater

The equivalent impedance parameters of loads have been widely used to identify and locate the harmonic sources.However,the existing calculation methods suffer from outliers caused by the zero-crossing of the denominator.These outliers can result in inaccuracy and unreliability of harmonic source location.To address this issue,this paper proposes an innovative method of equivalent impedance parameter calculation of three-phase symmetrical loads that avoid outliers.The correctness and effectiveness of the proposed method are verified by simulations on Simulink using actual monitoring data.The results show that the proposed method is not only simple and easy to implement but also highly accurate.

Variable projection algorithms with sparse constraint for separable nonlinear models

Separable nonlinear models are widely used in various fields such as time series analysis, system modeling, and machine learning, due to their flexible structures and ability to capture nonlinear behavior of data. However, identifying the parameters of these models is challenging, especially when sparse models with better interpretability are desired by practitioners. Previous theoretical and practical studies have shown that variable projection (VP) is an efficient method for identifying separable nonlinear models, but these are based on \(L_2\) penalty of model parameters, which cannot be directly extended to deal with sparse constraint. Based on the exploration of the structural characteristics of separable models, this paper proposes gradient-based and trust-region-based variable projection algorithms, which mainly solve two key problems: how to eliminate linear parameters under sparse constraint;and how to deal with the coupling relationship between linear and nonlinear parameters in the model. Finally, numerical experiments on synthetic data and real time series data are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.

Iron–doped bismuth oxybromides as visible-light-responsive Fenton catalysts for the degradation of atrazine in aqueous phases

Pesticides and its degradation products,being well–known residues in soil,have recently been detected in many water bodies as pollutants of emerging concerns,and thus there is a contemporary demand to develop viable and cost–effective techniques for the removal of related organic pollutants in aqueous phases.Herein,a visible-light-responsive Fenton system was constructed with iron–doped bismuth oxybromides(Fe–BiOBr)as the catalysts.Taking the advantage of sustainable Fe(Ⅲ)/Fe(Ⅱ)conversion and optimized H_(2)O_(2)utilization,the optimal Fe–BiOBr–2 catalyst showed an excellent atrazine removal efficiency of 97.61%in 120 min,which is superior than the traditional homogeneous Fenton and the majority of heterogeneous processes documented in the literature.In this photo–Fenton system,hydroxyl(·OH)and superoxide(·O_(2)^(-))radicals were dominant active species contributed to the oxidative degradation of atrazine.Due to the production of various active radicals,five degradation pathways were proposed based on the identification of intermediates and degradation products.Overall,this work not only demonstrates a fundamental insight into creating highly efficient and atom economic photo-Fenton systems,but also provides a complementary strategy for the treatment of organic pollutants in water.

Nitrogen-doped titanium dioxide/schwertmannite nanocomposites as heterogeneous photo-Fenton catalysts with enhanced efficiency for the degradation of bisphenol A

Potential health risks related to environmental endocrine disruptors(EEDs)have aroused research hotspots at the forefront of water treatment technologies.Herein,nitrogen-doped titanium dioxide/schwertmannite nanocomposites(N-TiO_(2)/SCH)have been successfully developed as heterogeneous catalysts for the degradation of typical EEDs via photo-Fenton processes.Due to the sustainable Fe(Ⅲ)/Fe(Ⅱ)conversion induced by photoelectrons,as-prepared N-TiO_(2)/SCH nanocomposites exhibit much enhanced efficiency for the degradation of bisphenol A(BPA;ca.100% within 60 min under visible irradiation)in a wide pH range of 3.0-7.8,which is significantly higher than that of the pristine schwertmannite(ca.74.5%)or N-TiO_(2)(ca.10.8%).In this photo-Fenton system,the efficient degradation of BPA is mainly attributed to the oxidation by hydroxyl radical(·OH)and singlet oxygen(^(1)O_(2)).Moreover,the possible catalytic mechanisms and reaction pathway of BPA degradation are systematically investigated based on analytical and photoelectrochemical analyses.This work not only provides a feasible means for the development of novel heterogeneous photo-Fenton catalysts,but also lays a theoretical foundation for the potential application of mineral-based materials in wastewater treatment.

Highly selective photocatalytic reduction of CO_(2) to CH_(4) on electron-rich Fe species cocatalyst under visible light irradiation

Efficient photocatalytic reduction of CO_(2) to high-calorific-value CH4,an ideal target product,is a blueprint for C_(1)industry relevance and carbon neutrality,but it also faces great challenges.Herein,we demonstrate unprecedented hybrid SiC photocatalysts modified by Fe-based cocatalyst,which are prepared via a facile impregnation-reduction method,featuring an optimized local electronic structure.It exhibits a superior photocatalytic carbon-based products yield of 30.0μmol g^(−1) h^(−1) and achieves a record CH_(4) selectivity of up to 94.3%,which highlights the effectiveness of electron-rich Fe cocatalyst for boosting photocatalytic performance and selectivity.Specifically,the synergistic effects of directional migration of photogenerated electrons and strongπ-back bonding on low-valence Fe effectively strengthen the adsorption and activation of reactants and intermediates in the CO_(2)→CH_(4) pathway.This study inspires an effective strategy for enhancing the multielectron reduction capacity of semiconductor photocatalysts with low-cost Fe instead of noble metals as cocatalysts.

B-cell lymphoma-2 phosphorylation at Ser70 site-related autophagy mediates puerarin-inhibited the apoptosis of MC3T3-E1 cells during osteoblastogenesis

OBJECTIVE:To explore the relationship between autophagy and apoptosis regulated by puerarin during osteoblastogenesis.METHODS:In this study,the effects of puerarin on the autophagic activity and apoptosis level of osteoblast precursors(MC3T3-E1 cells)was observed.Subsequently,the roles of puerarin on B-cell lymphoma-2(Bcl-2)phosphorylation at different sites in osteoblast precursors were observed.The effect of puerarin on the interaction between Bcl-2 and autophagy regulatory molecule or pro-apoptotic molecule was also investigated using Co-immunoprecipitation assays.In addition,the effect of puerarin on mitochondrial membrane potential of osteoblast precursors was also identified by mitochondrial membrane potential fluorescence probe assays.RESULTS:Our results showed that puerarin can promote the autophagic activity and apoptosis level of MC3T3-E1cells.In addition,puerarin promoted Bcl-2phosphorylation at Ser70 site,and the dissociation of Bcl-2-Beclin1 complex.Moreover,puerarin could enhance the binding of Bcl-2-Bcl-2-Associated X(Bax)complex in MC3T3-E1 cells.Furthermore,puerarin increased the mitochondrial membrane potential of MC3T3-E1 cells.CONCLUSIONS:Therefore,puerarin promotes Beclin1into autophagy flux through Bcl-2 phosphorylation at Ser70,thereby enhancing autophagy of osteoblast precursors,which mediates its anti-apoptotic role during osteoblastogenesis.Furthermore,the dissociation of Bcl-2-Beclin1 complex is conducive to the binding of Bcl-2-Bax complex,which resists the apoptosis of osteoblast precursors via the increased mitochondrial membrane potential.
