Clinical Characteristics of 261 Cases of Hospitalized Patients with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus

Objective To retrospectively analyze the clinical characteristics of 261 cases of hospitalized patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1DM) in Peking Union medical College Hospital(PUMCH). Methods Clinical data of 261 cases of hospitalized patients diagnosed with T1DM in the Department of Endocrinology at PUMCH from January 2007 to December 2014 were analyzed retrospectively. All patients were divided into the T1DM antibodies positive group(n=180) and negative group(n=81) according to the results of immunohistochemistry, in which 123 newly diagnosed T1DM patients were divided into the adult onset group(>18 years, n=58) and non-adult onset group(≤18 years, n=65) according to the onset age of T1DM, respectively. The clinical characteristics from different groups were compared. Results In 261 patients, the average age was 26.6±15.4 years, the average disease duration was 49(1-480) months, the positive rate of antibodies to glutamic acid decarboxylase antibody was 58.8%(153/260). The level of 2-hour postprandial C peptide and the positive rate of T1DM antibodies in the non-adult onset group were higher than those in the adult onset group(0.98 vs. 0.52 ng/ml, P=0.002 and 80.4% vs. 62.5%, P=0.048). The age of onset in the T1DM antibodies positive group was smaller than that in the T1DM antibodies negative group(19.7±11.4 vs. 24.7±15.6 years, P=0.04), while the incidence of ketosis in the T1DM antibodies positive group was higher than that in the T1DM antibodies negative group(48.3% vs. 34.2%, P=0.035). With the progress of the disease, the fasting C peptide level of the T1DM antibodies positive group decreased more rapidly. Compared with the single time hospitalized patients, multiplehospitalized patients had a lower incidence of diabetic retinopathy(8.2% vs. 22.4%, P=0.032), a lower hemoglobin A1 c level(8.04%±2.10% vs. 9.56%±2.64%, P<0.001) and fasting blood glucose level(8.7±3.1 vs. 10.9±4.2 mmol/L, P<0.001). Prediction and interpretation of photocatalytic NO removal on g-C_(3)N_(4)-based catalysts using machine learning

Predictive modeling of photocatalytic NO removal is highly desirable for efficient air pollution ***,great challenges remain in precisely predicting photocatalytic performance and understanding interactions of diverse features in the catalytic ***,a dataset of g-C_(3) N_(4)-based catalysts with 255 data points was collected from peer-reviewed publications and machine learning(ML)model was proposed to predict the NO removal *** result shows that the Gradient Boosting Decision Tree(GBDT)demonstrated the greatest prediction accuracy with R 2 of 0.999 and 0.907 on the training and test data,*** SHAP value and feature importance analysis revealed that the empirical categories for NO removal rate,in the order of importance,were catalyst characteristics>reaction process>preparation ***,the partial dependence plots broke the ML black box to further quantify the marginal contributions of the input features(e.g.,doping ratio,flow rate,and pore volume)to the model output *** ML approach presents a pure data-driven,interpretable framework,which provides new insights into the influence of catalyst characteristics,reaction process,and preparation conditions on NO removal.

Development of phenotyping system using low altitude UAV imagery and deep learning

In this study,a lightweight phenotyping system that combined the advantages of both deep learning-based panicle detection and the photogrammetry based on light consumer-level UAVs was proposed.A two-year experiment was conducted to perform data collection and accuracy validation.A deep learning model,named Mask Region-based Convolutional Neural Network(Mask R-CNN),was trained to detect panicles in complex scenes of paddy fields.A total of 13857 images were fed into Mask R-CNN,with 80%used for training and 20%used for ***,precision,recall,Average Precision(AP),and F1-score of the Mask R-CNN,were 82.46%,80.60%,79.46%,and 79.66%,respectively.A complete workflow was proposed to preprocess flight trajectories and remove repeated detection and ***,the evident changed in rice growth during the heading stage was visualized with geographic distributions,and the total number of panicles was predicted before *** average error of the predicted amounts of panicles was 33.98%.Experimental results showed the feasibility of using the developed system as the high-throughput phenotyping approach.

Gradient CNT/PVDF piezoelectric composite with enhanced force-electric coupling for soccer training

Automated liver tumor detection in abdominal ultrasonography with a modified faster region-based convolutional neural networks(Faster R-CNN)architecture
