Effects of Chinese Medicinal Herb on Growth and Immunization of Laying Chicks

In order to evaluate effects of Chinese medicinal herb (CMH) on growth and immunization of laying male chicks,eleven CMHs were used in this study,which are Astragalus membranacens (AM),Schisandra chinensis (SC),Ligustrum Lucidum(LL),Codonopsis,Scutellaria baicalensis (SB),Atractylodes macrocephala(AMA),Haw,Ginger,Acanthopanax scenticosns (AS),Angelica and Lycium,added to basal diet as 1%,respectively,with the basal diet supplemented with 50 mg·kg^(-1) bacitracin zinc(BZ) as the *** body weight (BW) of birds were recorded at 1,21 and 42 days after birth,*** birds were vaccinated 0.50 mL against Newcastle disease (ND) with La sota vaccinel (containing mineral oil as adjuvant) by *** at 21 d of *** of birds was vaccinated with F48E9 NDV by *** at 49 day of *** samples were taken via wing vein from each bird on the day receiving the vaccination (Day-1) and on 14,21,28,30 and 34 d after vaccination (Days 14,21,28,30 and 34). Results showed that bodyweight (BW) and bodyweight gain(BWG) of the trial groups are similar to the control *** significant differences of relative weight (RW) of bursa and spleen were observed among trial groups except for AS (Pcontrol group on day-21 or 28 after immunized ND La sota vaccinel,which suggested that SC,LL,Codonopsis,SB,AMA and Lycium could augment antibody ***,Compared with the control,antibody titers in SC,Codonopsis,AS,Lycium,SB and AMA group were higher (P<0.05) after vaccinated with F48E9 NDV,which suggested that SC,Codonopsis,AS,Lycium,SB and AMA have activity of *** conclusion,CMH used in the present study have similar effect on BW and BWG of chicks compared with the ***,these eleven CMH have little influence on RW of immunized organ except ***,SC,Codonopsis,LL,Lycium,SB and AMA could augmen

Correlation between levels of serum FKN and clinical index in patients with coronary atherosclerotic heart disease

Objective: To investigate the correlation and clinical significance between the serum Fractalkine (FKN) and interleukin-6 (IL-6), C-reactive protein (CRP), BNP, CK, CK-MB, TC, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C levels in patients with coronary atherosclerotic heart disease (CHD). Methods: A total of 95 cases of patients with coronary heart disease were admitted to the Department of Cardiology, the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University, March 2016 to December 2016, including 52 patients with stable angina pectoris (SAP) and 43 patients with Acute coronary syndrome (ACS), 45 matched healthy subjects were collected. The Serum levels of FKN were detected by ELISA. The correlation and significance of FKN and clinical indexes were analyzed. Results: (1) the levels of serum FKN, IL-6, CRP, BNP, CK, CK-MB, TC, TG, LDL-C in the SAP group and ACS group were significantly higher than those in the control group, HDL-C were significantly decreased. Compared with SAP group, serum FKN level was significantly increased and IL-6, CRP, BNP, CK and CK-MB levels were significantly increased in ACS group, TC, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C levels were not significant difference between SAP group and ACS group. (2) Correlation analyses showed that there was a significant positive correlation between FKN levels and IL-6, CRP, BNP, CK, CK-MB, LDL-C, significant Negative correlation between FKN levels and HDL-C, weakly positive correlation between FKN levels and TC, and no correlation between FKN levels and TG. Conclusions: The serum levels of FKN in patients with CHD are significantly increased, which are closely related to the inflammatory reaction and can be used as biomarker of CHD for early diagnosis and prognosis.

Evaluation of the Effect of High-efficiency Compound Formulations on the prevention and control of Sugarcane Brown Stripe

[Objectives]This study was conducted to screen high-efficiency compound formulations and precise application technologies for the prevention and control of sugarcane brown stripe disease.[Methods]Carbendazim,benomyl,chlorothalonil,azoxystrobin,pyraclostrobine and difenoconazole·azoxystrobin were selected for field efficacy tests.[Results]Three formulations,(50%carbendazim WP 1500 g+75%chlorothalonil WP 1500 g+potassium dihydrogen phosphate 2400 g+agricultural synergist 300 ml)/hm^(2),(50%benomyl WP 1500 g+75%chlorothalonil WP 1500 g+potassium dihydrogen phosphate 2400 g+agricultural synergist 300 ml)/hm^(2) and(25%pyraclostrobin 600 ml+potassium dihydrogen phosphate 2400 g+agricultural synergist 300 ml)/hm^(2) had good control effects on sugarcane brown stripe disease,and showed disease index below 14.02 and control efficacy above 84.41%.The three formulations are ideal high-efficiency compound formulations for the prevention and control of sugarcane brown stripe *** can be sprayed manually and by unmanned aerial vehicles on the foliar surface from July to August,once every 7 to 10 d,continuously for 2 times.[Conclusions]This study provides new technical support for accurate and efficient prevention and control of sugarcane brown stripe disease.

Mechanisms involved in biocontrol and plant induced resistance by richoderma. asperellum (T. harzianum T-203)

Growing awareness of the environmental damage caused by the use of chemical substances for plant disease control in agriculture has raised the need to study biological alternatives, such as activating the defense response of plant crops by inducers not toxic to the environment. Trichoderma spp. are effective biocontrol agents for a number of soilborne pathogens, and are also known for their ability to enhance plant growth and to induce systemic resistance (ISR) in plants. In our laboratory we are studying the mechanism of induction of systemic responses against angular leaf spot disease of cucumber-Pseudomonas syringae pv. lachrymans (Psl), following application of T. asperellum to the root system. The protection afforded by the biocontrol agent is associated with concomitant accumulation of secondary metabolites of a phenolic nature and mRNA of two defense genes: the phenylpropanoid pathway gene phenylalanine ammonia lyase (PAL) and the octadecanoid pathway gene hydroxyperoxide lyase (HPL). Combining gene expression analysis, measurements of signal molecules levels and use of specific hormone inhibitors we could demonstrate that the JA/ethylene signaling pathway is involved in the systemic response induced by Trichoderma. A molecular analysis of Trichoderma genes and proteins differentially induced by root interaction reveals that molecules related to phytopathogenicity, but also known as elicitors of plant defense responses, are transiently activated in planta, enabling at the same time intracellular colonization and induction of systemic defense responses pathways. It appears that Trichoderma as a beneficial soil fungus has several efficient modes of action.

SARS-CoV-2 is a new RNA virus affecting humans and spreads extensively throughout the world since its first outbreak in December,*** the transmissibility and pathogenicity of SARS-CoV-2 in humans after zoonotic transfer are actively evolving,and driven by adaptation to the new host and environments is still under *** the evolutionary mechanism underlying epidemiological and pathological characteristics of COVID-19 is essential for predicting the epidemic trend,and providing guidance for disease control and *** novel strategies for identifying natural selection using within-species polymorphisms and 3,674,076 SARSCoV-2 genome sequences of 169 countries as of December 30,2021,we demonstrate with population genetic evidence that during the course of SARS-CoV-2 pandemic in humans,1)SARS-CoV-2 genomes are overall conserved under purifying selection,especially for the 14 genes related to viral RNA replication,transcription,and assembly;2)ongoing positive selection is actively driving the evolution of 6 genes(e.g.,S,ORF3a,and N)that play critical roles in molecular processes involving pathogen–host interactions,including viral invasion into and egress from host cells,and viral inhibition and evasion of host immune response,possibly leading to high transmissibility and mild symptom in SARS-CoV-2 *** to an established haplotype phylogenetic relationship of 138 viral clusters,a spatial and temporal landscape of 556 critical mutations is constructed based on their divergence among viral haplotype clusters or repeatedly increase in frequency within at least 2 clusters,of which multiple mutations potentially conferring alterations in viral transmissibility,pathogenicity,and virulence of SARS-CoV-2 are highlighted,warranting attention.

An integrated project of fish and broiler： SIS model with optimal harvesting

The paper analyzes the influence of a susceptible-infectious-susceptible （SIS） infectious disease affecting both fish and broiler species. The paper also considers a joint SIS project of fish and broiler in which the growth rates of both species vary with available nutrients and environmental carrying capacities of biomasses. The nutrients for both species are functions of the biomasses of the two species. The harvesting rates of fish and broiler depend linearly on common effort function. It is assumed that the diseases are trans- mitted to the susceptible populations by direct contact with the infected populations. Using the medicine, some portion of the infected populations are transmitted to the sus- ceptible populations. The existence of steady states and their stability are investigated analytically. The joint profit of the SIS model is maximized using Pontryagin＇s max- imum principle and corresponding optimum harvesting rates are also obtained. Using Mathematica software~ the models are illustrated and the optimum results are obtained and presented in tabular and graphical forms.
