It is well established that in current human-dominated world,environmental change is closely coupled with socio-economic factors,and this is reflected in conceptual frameworks of important policies(Díaz et al.2015).Humans are adversely affecting biodiversity and climate change on a planetary scale(Rockström et al.2009).Anthropogenic transformation of ecosystems has been driven by rapid social and economic changes,manifested by direct drivers such as land use change and climate change(Nelson et al.2006).Central and Eastern Europe(CEE)has been a rap-idly transitioning region in terms of economic growth and political *** the collapse of former Eastern Bloc and revolutions in several CEE countries after 1989,CEE countries have been undergoing political and economic transformation toward democracy and free *** accession to the European Union also brought in changes of political environment and ecosystem management possibilities and *** socioeconomic changes have influenced environmental condition and ecosystem management in this region,with changing pres-sures on biodiversity and ecosystem *** changes in Central and Eastern Europe have been closely linked especially to agricultural *** example,inorganic fertilizer use in several CEE countries dropped in a single year to 25%of its former level after the collapse of ***,in turn,had an enormous impact on farmland biodiversity(Stoate et al.2009).

Non-cooperative target pose estimation based on improved iterative closest point algorithm

For localisation of unknown non-cooperative targets in space,the existence of interference points causes inaccuracy of pose estimation while utilizing point cloud *** address this issue,this paper proposes a new iterative closest point(ICP)algorithm combined with distributed weights to intensify the dependability and robustness of the non-cooperative target *** interference points in space have not yet been extensively studied,we classify them into two broad categories,far interference points and near interference *** the former,the statistical outlier elimination algorithm is *** the latter,the Gaussian distributed weights,simultaneously valuing with the variation of the Euclidean distance from each point to the centroid,are commingled to the traditional ICP *** each iteration,the weight matrix W in connection with the overall localisation is obtained,and the singular value decomposition is adopted to accomplish high-precision estimation of the target ***,the experiments are implemented by shooting the satellite model and setting the position of interference *** outcomes suggest that the proposed algorithm can effectively suppress interference points and enhance the accuracy of non-cooperative target pose *** the interference point number reaches about 700,the average error of angle is superior to 0.88°.

A Conditional Generative adversarial Network for energy use in multiple buildings using scarce data

Building consumption data is integral to numerous applications including retrofit analysis,Smart Grid integration and optimization,and load ***,due to technical limitations,privacy concerns and the proprietary nature of the industry,usable data is often unavailable for research and *** adversarial networks(GANs)-which generate synthetic instances that resemble those from an original training dataset-have been proposed to help address this *** studies use GANs to generate building sequence data,but the models are not typically designed for time series problems,they often require relatively large amounts of input data(at least 20,000 sequences)and it is unclear whether they correctly capture the temporal behaviour of the *** this work we implement a conditional temporal GAN that addresses these issues,and we show that it exhibits state-of-the-art performance on small datasets.22 different experiments that vary according to their data inputs are benchmarked using Jensen-Shannon divergence(JSD)and predictive forecasting validation *** these,the best performing is also evaluated using a curated set of metrics that extends those of previous work to include PCA,deep-learning based forecasting and measurements of trend and *** case studies are included:one for residential and one for commercial *** model achieves a JSD of 0.012 on the former data and 0.037 on the latter,using only 396 and 156 original load sequences,respectively.

Privacy-Preserving Algorithms for Multiple Sensitive Attributes Satisfying t-Closeness

Although k-anonymity is a good way of publishing microdata for research purposes, it cannot resist severalcommon attacks, such as attribute disclosure and the similarity attack. To resist these attacks, many refinements of k-anonymity have been proposed with t-closeness being one of the strictest privacy models. While most existing t-closenessmodels address the case in which the original data have only one single sensitive attribute, data with multiple sensitiveattributes are more common in practice. In this paper, we cover this gap with two proposed algorithms for multiple sensitiveattributes and make the published data satisfy t-closeness. Based on the observation that the values of the sensitive attributesin any equivalence class must be as spread as possible over the entire data to make the published data satisfy t-closeness,both of the algorithms use different methods to partition records into groups in terms of sensitive attributes. One uses aclustering method, while the other leverages the principal component analysis. Then, according to the similarity of quasi-identifier attributes, records are selected from different groups to construct an equivalence class, which will reduce the lossof information as much as possible during anonymization. Our proposed algorithms are evaluated using a real dataset. Theresults show that the average speed of the first proposed algorithm is slower than that of the second proposed algorithm butthe former can preserve more original information. In addition, compared with related approaches, both proposed algorithmscan achieve stronger protection of privacy and reduce less.

Pseudo-Depth/Intercept-Time Monotonicity Requirements in the Inverse Scattering Algorithm for Predicting Internal Multiple Reflections

Modification of the 8^th AJCC staging system of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

Accurate cancer staging is critical not only for planning the clinical management, but also for predicting prognosis in patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). The former American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) staging system (7th edition) for PDAC has failed to show prognostic relevance of T stage since vast majority (>90%) of patients who underwent pancreatectomy were classified as T3 (1,2). Moreover, the definition of T3 as tumor extension beyond pancreas without involvement of the celiac axis or superior mesenteric artery (SMA) gave rise to significant inter-observer/institutional variability due to lack of true capsule in the pancreas and highly variable distribution of adipose tissue surrounding the pancreatic parenchyma. To address these issues, the current AJCC staging system for PDAC (8th edition) uses only tumor size for T1 to T3 (T1,≤2 cm;T2, >2 cm and ≤4 cm;T3, >4 cm), but maintains the T4 definition as tumor of any size involving the celiac axis, SMA and/or common hepatic artery. The current AJCC staging also subclassifies lymph node (LN) positive group into N1 (1-3 positive LNs) and N2 (≥4 positive LNs). The current 8th AJCC staging system allows for better reproducibility for T stage classification and better patient stratification compared to AJCC 7th edition (1).

Depthformer:Exploiting Long-range Correlation and Local Information for Accurate Monocular Depth Estimation

Influence of sampling intensity on performance of two-phase forest inventory using airborne laser scanning

Background: Forest inventories have always been a primary information source concerning the forest ecosystem state. Various applied survey approaches arise from the numerous important factors during sampling scheme planning. Paramount aspects include the survey goal and scale, target population inherent variation and patterns,and available resources. The last factor commonly inhibits the goal, and compromises have to be made. Airborne laser scanning(ALS) has been intensively tested as a cost-effective option for forest inventories. Despite existing foundations, research has provided disparate results. Environmental conditions are one of the factors greatly influencing inventory performance. Therefore, a need for site-related sampling optimization is well ***, as stands are the basic operational unit of managed forest holdings, few related studies have presented stand-level results. As such, herein, we tested the sampling intensity influence on the performance of the ALSenhanced stand-level ***: Distributions of possible errors were plotted by comparing ALS model estimates, with reference values derived from field surveys of 3300 sample plots and more than 300 control stands located in 5 forest districts. No improvement in results was observed due to the scanning density. The variance in obtained errors stabilized in the interval of 200–300 sample plots, maintaining the bias within +/-5% and the precision above 80%. The sample plot area affected scores mostly when transitioning from 100 to 200 m2. Only a slight gain was observed when bigger plots were ***: ALS-enhanced inventories effectively address the demand for comprehensive and detailed information on the structure of single stands over vast areas. Knowledge of the relation between the sampling intensity and accuracy of ALS estimates allows the determination of certain sampling intensity thresholds. This should be useful when matching the required sample size and accuracy
