Landslide susceptibility mapping using Genetic Algorithm for the Rule Set Production(GARP) model

Investigation on landslide phenomenon is necessary for understanding and delineating the landslide prone and safer places for different land use practices. On this basis, a new model known as genetic algorithm for the rule set production was applied in order to assess its efficacy to obtain a better result and a more precise landslide susceptibility map in Klijanerestagh area of Iran. This study considered twelve landslide conditioning factors(LCF) like altitude, slope, aspect, plan curvature, profile curvature, topographic wetness index(TWI), distance from rivers, faults, and roads, land use/cover, and lithology. For modeling purpose, the Genetic Algorithm for the Rule Set Production(GARP) algorithm was applied in order to produce the landslide susceptibility map. Finally, to evaluate the efficacy of the GARP model, receiver operating characteristics curve as well as the Kappa index were employed. Based on these indices, the GARP model predicted the probability of future landslide incidences with the area under the receiver operating characteristics curve(AUC-ROC) values of 0.932, and 0.907 for training and validating datasets, respectively. In addition, Kappa values for the training and validating datasets were computed as 0.775, and 0.716, respectively. Thus, it can be concluded that the GARP algorithm can be a new but effective method for generating landslide susceptibility maps(LSMs). Furthermore, higher contribution of the lithology, distance from roads, and distance from faults was observed, while lower contribution was attributed to soil, profile curvature, and TWI factors. The introduced methodology in this paper can be suggested for other areas with similar topographical and hydrogeological characteristics for land use planning and reducing the landslide damages.

Exploring the effects of angle of incidence on stabbing resistance in advanced protective textiles:Novel experimental framework and analysis

BACKGROUND The programmed cell death protein 1 inhibitor pembrolizumab has become a key treatment for various cancers,including triple-negative breast ***,it is associated with immune-related adverse events,including rare but serious neurological complications such as Guillain-Barrésyndrome(GBS).GBS is a potentially life-threatening autoimmune disorder characterized by muscle weakness and *** present a unique case of pembrolizumab-induced GBS to highlight the importance of recognizing this complication and managing it promptly in patients receiving immune checkpoint *** SUMMARY A 69-year-old woman with a medical history of hypertension,anxiety,depression,and stage IIIB triple-negative breast cancer treated with pembrolizumab,carboplatin,and paclitaxel,presented to the emergency department with a 1-month history of tingling,lower extremity weakness,and shooting *** progressed to global weakness,ascending paralysis,and double *** examination revealed significant lower extremity weakness and sensory *** resonance imaging of the lumbar spine and cerebrospinal fluid analysis confirmed *** treatment with intravenous immunoglobulin led to relapse,requiring additional intravenous immunoglobulin and high-dose *** patient’s condition improved,pembrolizumab therapy was permanently discontinued,and she was discharged to a rehabilitation *** Pembrolizumab can induce GBS,necessitating early recognition,prompt diagnosis,and multidisciplinary management to prevent serious complications.

Mine water pollution caused by improper discharge of industrial wastewater,waste liquid and waste residue into minedout areas is a new form of pollution occurred in China in recent *** kind of pollution is buried deeply,and it is difficult to control,dispose and *** contaminated mine water from abandoned mining areas may even enter the ocean,posing a great threat to marine *** this study,using a water pollution incident occurred in a coal field at a depth of 80 m in Shandong Province,China,in 2015,as an example,the methods of engineering block disposal and groundwater remediation are reported,and the remediation effects are tested and evaluated by in-situ chemical detection and geophysical *** test results showed that engineering blocking measures such as cut-off walls can obviously block the DNAPL diffusion process in mine water,but the blocking effect on organic pollutants dissolved in water was *** can slow down the diffusion process of organic *** presence of mining tunnels and mined-out areas in the contaminated zone enhances the diffusion speed of various pollutants,especially during the remediation process when pollutants rapidly spread throughout the entire contaminated *** circulation extraction and oxidation methods have a significant degradation effect on pollutants like dichloromethane,but they may generate a large amount of secondary gaseous *** gaseous pollutants may migrate to the shallow subsurface through structures such as faults,leading to secondary subsurface *** designing remediation plans,it is crucial to strike a balance between blocking and guiding in the context of both blocking and restoration projects for achieving effective remediation.

Weathering reflected by the chemical composition of alluvial soils from the Zeya and Selemdzha river valleys

The paper examines the chemical composition of alluvial soils from the Zeya and Selemdzha River valleys, one of the branch rivers in the Amur River basin. It has been established that the compositions of these soils are characterized by a relative shortage of practically all analyzed macro-and microelements as compared with UCC(upper continental crust) and PAAS(postArhean Australian average shale) compositions. The chemical composition of alluvial soils approximates that of the soils in NE China and Korea due to similar climatic and geographic conditions. On the basis of relationships between major and trace elements and peculiarities of trace elements concentration it is shown that the alluvial soils in the middle reaches of the Zeya River were formed by the sources largely transformed by chemical weathering processes. By comparison, the soils in the Selemdzha River and lower reaches of the Zeya River(below the Selemdzha River mouth) are dominated by material to a large degree reworked by the physical processes rather than chemical ones. This inference conforms with specific geological settings of the water-collector.

The main purpose of this paper is to present and apply a genetic and simulated annealing combined algorithm to solve an optimization problem of Radio Frequency Identification(RFID)network planning in an emergency department of a ***,though genetic algorithm(GA)and simulated annealing(SA)have advantages and disadvantages,but they are also ***,the combined algorithm not only takes advantages of the two methods,but also avoids their *** simulation results in an emergency department of a hospital present that the proposed method provides minimum total cost and maximum RFID network coverage in a simultaneous way with the efficient use of multi-antenna RFID ***,the results of comparison of two scenarios of the model with the results of other existing models in the relevant literature show that the proposed model has better outcomes.

A Verifiable Trust-Based CP-ABE Access Control Scheme for Cloud-Assisted Renewable Energy Systems

Renewable Energy Systems(RES)provide a sustainable solution to climate warming and environmental pollution by enhancing stability and reliability through status acquisition and analysis on cloud platforms and intelligent processing on edge servers(ES).However,securely distributing encrypted data stored in the cloud to terminals that meet decryption requirements has become a prominent research ***,managing attributes,including addition,deletion,and modification,is a crucial issue in the access control scheme for *** address these security concerns,a trust-based ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption(CP-ABE)device access control scheme is proposed for RES(TB-CP-ABE).This scheme effectivelymanages the distribution and control of encrypted data on the cloud through robust attribute key *** introducing trust management mechanisms and outsourced decryption technology,the ES system can effectively assess and manage the trust worthiness of terminal devices,ensuring that only trusted devices can participate in data exchange and access sensitive ***,the ES system dynamically evaluates trust scores to set decryption trust thresholds,thereby regulating device data access permissions and enhancing the system’s *** validate the security of the proposed TB-CP-ABE against chosen plaintext attacks,a comprehensive formal security analysis is conducted using the widely accepted random oraclemodel under the decisional q-Bilinear Diffie-Hellman Exponent(q-BDHE)***,comparative analysis with other schemes demonstrates that the TB-CP-ABE scheme cuts energy/communication costs by 43%,and scaleswell with rising terminals,maintaining average latency below 50ms,ensuring real-time service *** proposed scheme not only provides newinsights for the secure management of RES but also lays a foundation for future secure energy solutions.

Emission characteristics of biogenic volatile organic compounds in a subtropical pristine forest of southern China
