The black chokeberry is rich in polyphenols,including flavonoids with anthocyanins,flavanols and lavonols as the main components and a variety of phenolic acids represented by chlorogenic *** of these polyphenols,black chokeberry has the effect of preventing and adjuvant therapy *** study summarized the current research results on the types and contents of functional components in black chokeberry,and analyzed their digestion,absorption and metabolism in human *** this basis,the disease control functions that have been proved effective in clinical research were reviewed and *** studies showed that black chokeberry have good prevention and adjuvant therapy effects on hyperlipidemia,hypertension,diabetes and *** there are different functional components in black chokeberry,its prevention and treatment of the same disease can come from multiple pathways,which provides a more reliable effectiveness for the disease control of different populations.

The angiotensin-converting enzyme(ACE)inhibitory peptide NCW derived from Mizuhopecten yessoensis has been demonstrated to have significant in vivo anti-hypertensive effects,however,its anti-hypertensive mechanism is still not fully *** study established a UPLC-Q-TRAP-MS/MS-based widely targeted kidney metabolomics approach to explore the changes of kidney metabolic profiles and to clarify the antihypertensive mechanism of peptide NCW in spontaneously hypertensive rats(SHRs).Multivariate statistical analysis indicated that the kidney metabolic profiles were clearly separated between the SHR-NCW and SHRUntreated groups.A total of 85 metabolites were differentially regulated,and 16 metabolites were identified as potential kidney biomarkers,e.g.,3-hydroxybutyrate,malonic acid,deoxycytidine,and L-aspartic *** peptide NCW might regulate kidney metabolic disorder of SHRs to alleviate hypertension by suppressing inflammation and improving nitric oxide production under the regulation of linoleic acid metabolism,folate related pathways,synthesis and degradation of ketone bodies,pyrimidine metabolism,β-alanine metabolism,and retinal metabolism.

Epicatechin(EC)was used in this study to antagonize the cognitive dysfunction caused by lead(Pb)exposure in ***-week-old male Kunming mice were treated with PbCl_(2)(20 mg/kg)and/or EC(50 mg/kg)by gavage administration for 4 *** water maze test showed that EC could improve memory dysfunction induced by *** antagonized Ca^(2+)overload,activated Nrf2 signaling pathway and reduced the accumulation of Pb in the brain and serum,which suggested that EC might alter Pb distribution in *** vitro,spectroscopic analysis,potentiometric titration and docking studies were applied to inquiry into the interaction between bovine serum albumin(BSA)and Pb^(2+)in presence or absence of *** was proved to chelate Pb^(2+)and reduced the interaction between BSA and Pb^(2+).In summary,EC might protect Pb-induced cognitive impairment by activating Nrf2 signaling pathway,and suppressing Pb accumulation via interference on the binding of Pb to albumin.

With methane emissions from ruminant agriculture contributing 17%of total methane emissions worldwide,there is increasing urgency to develop strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in this *** of the proposed strategies is ruminant feed intervention studies focused on the inclusion of anti-methanogenic compounds which are those capable of interacting with the rumen microbiome,reducing the capacity of ruminal microorganisms to produce ***,seaweeds have been investigated for their ability to reduce methane in ruminants in vitro and in vivo,with the greatest methane abatement reported when using the red seaweed Asparagopsis taxiformis(attributed to the bromoform content of this species).From the literature analysis in this study,levels of up to 99%reduction in ruminant methane emissions have been reported from inclusion of this seaweed in animal feed,although further in vivo and microbiome studies are required to confirm these results as other reports showed no effect on methane emission resulting from the inclusion of seaweed to basal *** review explores the current state of research aiming to integrate seaweeds as anti-methanogenic feed additives,as well as examining the specific bioactive compounds within seaweeds that are likely to be related to these *** effects of the inclusion of seaweeds on the ruminal microbiome are also reviewed,as well as the future challenges when considering the largescale inclusion of seaweeds into ruminant diets as anti-methanogenic agents.

Objective:To investigate the environmental and social aspects of poverty contributing to malaria incidence in Indonesia from 2016 to ***:Random forest regression was used to analyse the independent variables contributing to malaria *** conditions were extracted from remotely sensed data,including vegetation,land temperature,soil moisture,precipitation,and *** contrast,the social aspects of poverty were obtained from government statistical ***:From 2016 to 2020,the contribution of each environmental and social aspect of poverty to malaria incidence fluctuated ***,the top three essential variables were people aged 15 years and above,experiencing poverty(variable importance/VI=32.0%),people experiencing poverty who work in the agricultural sector(VI=14.4%),and precipitation(VI=9.8%).It was followed by people experiencing poverty who are unemployed(VI=9.2%),land temperature(VI=5.2%),people experiencing poverty who have low education(VI=8.0%),soil moisture(VI=7.4%),elevation(VI=6.0%),and vegetation(VI=3.8%).Conclusions:Poverty and variables related to climate have become the crucial determinants of malaria in *** government must strengthen malaria surveillance through climate change mitigation and adaptation programs and accelerate poverty alleviation programs to support malaria elimination.

A bibliometric analysis of studies dedicated to autoimmune gastritis(AIG)recently published demonstrated a noteworthy surge in publications over the last three *** can be explained by numerous publications from different regions of the world reporting the results of several studies that stimulated reassessment of our view of AIG as a precancerous ***-up studies and retrospective analyses showed that the risk of gastric cancer(GC)in AIG patients is much lower than expected if the patients ever being infected with Helicobacter pylori(***)were *** low prevalence of precancerous lesions,such as the incomplete type of intestinal metaplasia,may explain the low risk of GC in AIG patients because the spasmolytic polypeptide-expressing metaplasia commonly observed in AIG does not involve clonal reprogramming of the gastric gland and can be considered as an adaptive change rather than a true precancerous ***,changes in gastric secretion due to the progression of gastric atrophy during the course of AIG cause changes in the gastric microbiome,stimulating the growth of bacterial species such as streptococci,which may promote the development of precancerous lesions and ***,Streptococcus anginosus exhibited a robust proinflammatory response and induced the gastritis-atrophy-metaplasia-dysplasia sequence in mice,reproducing the wellestablished process for carcinogenesis associated with *** studies in ***-naïve patients evaluating gastric microbiome changes during the long-term course of AIG might provide an explanation for the enigmatic increase in GC incidence in the last decades in younger cohorts,which has been reported in economically developed countries.

This study aimed to explore the effect of Bifidobacterium animalis F1-7 on the improvement of atherosclerotic *** model ApoE^(-/-)mice were orally administered with *** F1-7 for 12 *** probiotic intervention reduced the plaque areas in aorta and the accumulation of macrophages,and downregulated the expression of toll-like receptor 4(TLR4)/nuclear factorκB(NF-κB)pathway to reduce the levels of inflammatory *** widely-targeted metabolomics analysis showed that acetyl-L-carnitine(ALC)in the intestine of atherosclerotic mice was significantly increased after *** F1-7 *** analysis proved that ALC was associated with atherosclerotic inflammatory *** using oxidized low density lipoprotein induced macrophage foam cells,we further verified that ALC could reduce lipid accumulation and inflammatory response in foam cells by downregulating the TLR4/NF-κB ***,our results revealed that *** F1-7 upregulated the metabolite ALC to downregulate the inflammatory responses,leading to the reduction of plaque accumulation of atherosclerosis.

A Pickering emulsion based on sodium starch octenyl succinate(SSOS)was prepared and its effects on the physicochemical properties of hairtail myofibrillar protein gels(MPGs)subjected to multiple freeze-thaw(F-T)cycles were *** whiteness,water-holding capacity,storage modulus(G')and texture properties of the MPGs were significantly improved by adding 1%-2%Pickering emulsion(P<0.05).Meanwhile,Raman spectral analysis demonstrated that Pickering emulsion promoted the transformation of secondary structure,enhanced hydrogen bonds and hydrophobic interactions,and promoted the transition of disulfide bond conformation from g-g-g to g-g-t and *** an emulsion concentration of 2%,theα-helix content decreased by 10.37%,while theβ-sheet content increased by 7.94%,compared to the *** F-T cycles,the structure of the MPGs was destroyed,with an increase in hardness and a decrease in whiteness and water-holding capacity,however,the quality degradation of MPGs was reduced with 1%-2%Pickering *** findings demonstrated that SSOS-Pickering emulsions,as potential fat substitutes,can enhance the gel properties and the F-T stability of MPGs.

Investigation of the effect of hydrocarbons and monoesters in the gelators’composition on the properties of edible oleogel

Natural wax gelators have different compositions of compounds(hydrocarbons,wax esters,free fatty alcohols,and free fatty acids),which results in oleogels with varying *** maintain a consistent composition,the individual components can be added to the original wax *** content of hydrocarbons and wax esters greatly affects the structuring process of liquid edible oils with *** aim of this study was to evaluate the possibility of modifying the properties of beeswax as a gelling agent by adding hydrocarbons or monoesters to obtain oleogels with specific *** tests were conducted to assess the changes in the oleogel properties,such as color,microstructure,oil-binding capacity,thermal and textural *** research results have shown that the addition of the studied fractions has led to a significant change in all properties of *** initial size of oleogel crystals(7.29±1.80μm)changed after adding fractions,varying from 5.28μm to 12.58μm with hydrocarbons and from 9.95μm to 30.41μm with wax *** addition of 30%–50% hydrocarbons decreased the ability of the oleogels to bind oil and made them less firm compared to samples with 10%-20% *** 10%-20% monoesters increased the firmness of the oleogels,but this indicator decreased when their content was increased to 50%.The obtained data indicate that hydrocarbons and wax esters can be used for targeted correction of the gelling properties of beeswax.

Dietary yeast extract prevents alcoholic liver disease in mice via correcting gut dysbiosis and improving intestinal barrier function

Alcoholic liver disease (ALD) is one of the major global public health problems. Yeast extract (YE)， a product prepared from yeast， has been proven to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. However， the potential role of YE in the prevention of ALD remains unclear. The present study aimed to investigate the protective effects of YE on ALD and explore the underlying mechanism based on gut microbiota. The result showed that YE supplementation significantly ameliorated chronic alcohol exposure-induced liver injury in mice. In addition， YE counteracted alcohol-induced gut dysbiosis， intestinal barrier dysfunction， lipopolysaccharide (LPS) leakage-induced inflammatory response in the liver. Moreover， microbiota depletion by a broad-spectrum antibiotic was sufficient to block the protective effect of YE on ALD， indicating the contribution of gut dysbiosis modulation to the hepatoprotective role of YE. Furthermore， we demonstrated the causal relationship between gut microbiota and hepatoprotective effects of YE with the fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) experiment. Compared with the ALD-FMT mice， gut dysbiosis， intestinal barrier dysfunction， LPS/TLR4 signaling pathway activation， and liver inflammatory response were significantly improved in the YE-FMT mice. Together， our findings highlight that dietary YE protects against ALD through gut dysbiosis correction.
