An Immune-Inspired Approach with Interval Allocation in Solving Multimodal Multi-Objective Optimization Problems with Local Pareto Sets

In practical engineering,multi-objective optimization often encounters situations where multiple Pareto sets(PS)in the decision space correspond to the same Pareto front(PF)in the objective space,known as Multi-Modal Multi-Objective Optimization Problems(MMOP).Locating multiple equivalent global PSs poses a significant challenge in real-world applications,especially considering the existence of local *** identifying and locating both global and local PSs is a major *** tackle this issue,we introduce an immune-inspired reproduction strategy designed to produce more offspring in less crowded,promising regions and regulate the number of offspring in areas that have been thoroughly *** approach achieves a balanced trade-off between exploration and ***,we present an interval allocation strategy that adaptively assigns fitness levels to each *** strategy ensures a broader survival margin for solutions in their initial stages and progressively amplifies the differences in individual fitness values as the population matures,thus fostering better population ***,we incorporate a multi-population mechanism that precisely manages each subpopulation through the interval allocation strategy,ensuring the preservation of both global and local *** results on 21 test problems,encompassing both global and local PSs,are compared with eight state-of-the-art multimodal multi-objective optimization *** results demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed algorithm in simultaneously identifying global Pareto sets and locally high-quality PSs.

Gait speed may predict development of Type 2 diabetes: A pilot study among elderly Japanese

Aims: Epidemiologic evidence suggests that physical activity is associated with reduced risk of Type 2 diabetes. Walking is simple, effective, and by far the most prevalent physical activity among older adults. However, it is difficult to recognize and evaluate performance-based parameters of physical activity. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the importance of performance-based gait speed among several physical measurements in the development of Type 2 diabetes using long-term community-based data on elderly Japanese persons. Methods: 10 baseline physical measurements, including habitual (HGS) and fast (FGS) gait speed, were examined in 102 elderly Japanese persons living independently in the community (mean age: 71.1 years old) who were not previously diagnosed with diabetes. The subjects then participated in a daily exercise program consisting of walking, stretching, muscle strengthening, and balance exercises and were followed for an average of 4.16 years. Using Cox proportional hazards models with adjustment for age, sex, and category of fasting glucose status, we investigated whether gait speed and/or other physical measurements are associated with development of Type 2 diabetes. Results: 9 subjects developed Type 2 diabetes. Among the 10 physical parameters examined, prolongation of HGS and FGS per second was the only statistically significant factors, with hazard ratios 1.83 (1.15 - 2.89, P = 0.010) and 2.93 (1.43 - 6.03, P = 0.003), respectively. Conclusions: We found a negative association between the development of Type 2 diabetes and gait speed among elderly Japanese people. We conclude that encouraging physical activity and preserving walking capacity may be beneficial for preventing Type 2 diabetes.

Optimal Operation of Energy Internet Based on User Electricity Anxiety and Chaotic Spatial Variation Particle Swarm Optimization

Ignoring load characteristics and not considering user feeling with regard to the optimal operation of Energy Internet（EI） results in a large error in optimization. Thus, results are not consistent with the actual operating conditions. To solve these problems, this paper proposes an optimization method based on user Electricity Anxiety（EA） and Chaotic Space Variation Particle Swarm Optimization（CSVPSO）. First, the load is divided into critical load, translation load, shiftable load, and temperature load. Then, on the basis of the different load characteristics,the concept of the user EA degree is presented, and the optimization model of the EI is provided. This paper also presents a CSVPSO algorithm to solve the optimization problem because the traditional particle swarm optimization algorithm takes a long time and particles easily fall into the local optimum. In CSVPSO, the particles with lower fitness value are operated by using cross operation, and velocity variation is performed for particles with a speed lower than the setting threshold. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulation *** results show that the proposed method can be used to optimize the operation of EI on the basis of the full consideration of the load characteristics. Moreover, the optimization algorithm has high accuracy and computational efficiency.

Development of spectrum unfolding code for multi-sphere neutron spectrometer using genetic algorithms

In the process of neutron spectrum measurement using the multi-sphere neutron spectrometer, energy response functions and detector readings should be applied to neutron spectrum unfolding. Mathematically, there can be multiple solutions to this problem, but only one actual neutron spectrum exists. Compared with common numerical spectrum unfolding methods, genetic algorithms have the characteristics of global optimization and probabilistic search. Therefore, they are chosen to be the spectrum unfolding algorithms for the multi-sphere neutron spectrometer (MNS IL100) developed by Tsinghua University. Firstly, the detector and different size polyethylene spheres of MNS IL100 were modeled to calculate the energy response functions by applying Monte Carlo simulation. Then based on the physical and mathematical properties of the spectrum unfolding problem by using genetic algorithms, effective search space and proper fitness function were determined to improve the efficiency of search and iteration. The elitism replacement scheme was used to ensure convergence and the pseudo-parallel strategy was used to inhibit premature convergence. According to the algorithms mentioned above, a spectrum unfolding code was developed and tested with several typical neutron spectra. At last, MNS IL100 and the spectrum unfolding code were used in actual experiment of 252Cf neutron source spectrum measurement. The experimental result is in good agreement with the 252Cf standard neutron spectrum, verifying the effectiveness and practicality of using genetic algorithms to unfold the neutron spectrum with combination of several processing strategies. © 2014, Science Press. In order to solve the problem of poor matched-degree between the product tested by three-dimensional human body model of SAEJ833 and the experience of Chinese driving *** is aiming at improving the environment of ergonomics for vehicle researching *** it is strive to promote the relevant human engineering standards of Chinese human *** paper analyzes the difference between Chinese human and model of SAEJ833.A human body model that suitable for Chinese driving group is proposed.A suitable curve for seat of 95 th percentile is fitted by optimal H-point,which is obtained from 7 models by *** it is deduced a formula for eyelipse positioned according to the *** last,through a real test for vehicle,it is verified the accuracy in the suitable curve for seat of 95 th percentile and the eyelipse positioned,which is considered the factors among seat adjustment between front and height direction,the angle of seat back,wheel *** research can improve the ergonomics of vehicle designed for Chinese driving *** can effectively boost the fitness of Chinese driving group,enhance the actual project benefit and provide reference for automobile layout development.

Study on Body Form and Garment Size Series of the Middle Age and Aged People

In order to get the typical body form and figure type of the middle age and aged people it was focused on the body form data of this group (age 40 - 60). After calculation and analyzing the distinguishing feature of body form and the distribution of figure type were deduced. Finally the re-classification of body form for Chinese middle age and aged people was suggested. It as also suggested that a new garment size series especially for the middle age and aged should be built to fit for these people. This conclusion would be useful and significant to design and production for clothing company especially that who take the aged people as their target consumer.

Effects of mummy consumption on fitness and oviposition site selection on Harmonia axyridis

Intraguild predation(IGP)has been commonly reported between predators and parasitoids used as biological control agents as predators consuming parasitoids within their ***,the effect of parasitoid-mummy consumption on the fitness of the predator and subsequent oviposition site selection have not been well *** our study,we conducted two laboratory experiments to examine the influence of Aphidius gifuen-sis Ashmead(Hymenoptera:Braconidae)mummies as prey on fitness and subsequently oviposition site selection of Harmonia axyridis(Pallas)(Coleoptera:Coccnellidae).Re-sults indicate that when *** was reared on *** mummies only,its larval development was prolonged,and body weight of the 4th instar larvae and newly emerged adults,and fecundity ***,*** did not exhibit oviposition pref-erence on plants infested with unparasitized aphids or aphids parasitized for shorter than 9 ***,compared with plants with mummies(parasitized≥9 days),*** laid more eggs on plants with unparasitized *** contrast,*** previously fed with *** mummies did not show a significant oviposition preference between plants with unparasitized aphids and those with mummies(parasitized≥9 days).Overall,our results suggest that mummy consumption reduced the fitness of *** *** avoided laying eggs on plants with *** mummies,prior feeding ex-perience on *** mummies could alter the oviposition site ***,in biological control practice,prior feeding experience of *** should be carflly considered for reduction of IGP and increase of fitness of *** on ***.

Cable tunnel is widely used in urban electric power construction but environment of cable tunnel may contain toxic and harmful gas. To analysis the densities of different components in mixture gases, near-infrared（NIR） spectroscopy is ***, full spectrum prediction model may be inaccurate and redundant. This paper proposes a hybrid ant colony optimizationsimulated annealing variable selection method for spectroscopy quantitative analysis. The proposed method has two parts: the SA part calculate the fitness of new candidate solutions and determine whether to accept the new solution, the ACO part generates new candidate solutions based on the pheromone deposited on each variable and uses new solution to update the pheromone after the SA part has finished. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, PLS with full spectrum, uninformative variable elimination by PLS, elastic net, genetic algorithm with PLS, ant colony optimization with PLS and the proposed method are used to build components quantitative analysis models based on real gas data and the results are compared and *** experimental results verify the prediction precision of the proposed method is higher.

Background: The ability to climb stairs (ascending and descending stair without using a handrail) and rise from a chair (rising from chairs without using an elbow rest) are among the most important measures of physical function for ADL evaluation for the independent living, and assessed by the questioners on many epidemiological studies in elderly. But little is known about the relationship between the self-reported performance level of the tasks and lower leg strength and power in very elderly people. The purpose of this study was to ascertain the relationship between the self-reported performance level of two tasks and the lower leg function in community-dwelling 80-year-old population. Methods: Out of 994 persons who were 80 years old living in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture, Japan, 607 individuals (236 men and 371 women) underwent a physical fitness test that included measurements of leg extensor power and knee extensor strength. The ability to climb up stair and to rise from a chair was assessed by self- reported questionnaire which was ranked in three levels. The area under the receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curve (AUC) was used to evaluate the measurements. Results: The cut-off points for the leg extensor power of subjects who could completely perform the stair-climbing and chair-rising functions were determined to be approximately 8.6 watt/kg body mass for men and 5.6 watt/kg body mass for women. In addition, the cut-off points for the knee extensor strength of subjects who could completely perform the stair-climbing and chair-rising functions were determined to be approximately 0.97 kg/kg body mass for men and 0.84 kg/kg body mass for women. Conclusions: From a practical viewpoint, the present study suggested that the cut-off points of leg extensor power and knee extensor strength can be used as targets in simple self-reported questionnaires to help in screening for mobility in 80-year-old
