Summary of the current guidelines for managing iatrogenic colorectal perforations and the evolving role of endoluminal vacuum therapy

Colonoscopy represents a safe procedure that is widely used in medical practice either to diagnose or treat various gastrointestinal *** the last few years,the incidence rate of perforations in colonoscopic procedures has increased,especially in therapeutic *** recent advancements in endoscopic techniques and gastrointestinal tumoral resection procedures such as endoscopic mucosal resection,endoscopic full-thickness resection,and endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)could be a risk factor for this increased *** incidence rate of mortality of serious colonoscopic perforations is 7.1%.The management plan for these perforations starts with conservative treatment in mild cases,endoscopic closure,and surgical management in severe ***,endoluminal vacuum therapy was found to be effective in the management of colorectal perforations and this has been reported in multiple case *** editorial provides an overview of the current guidelines for the management of iatrogenic colorectal *** insights are from the perspectives of endoscopists and *** also present a management algorithm based on the guidelines of the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy,the American Gastroenterological Association,and the World Society of Emergency *** also discussed in brief the use of endoluminal vacuum therapy in colorectal perforations.

Leaching of a copper flotation concentrate with ammonium persulfate in an autoclave system

The leaching behavior of a copper flotation concentrate was investigated using ammonium persulfate （APS） in an autoclave systee. The decomposition products of APS, active oxygen, and acidic medium were used to extract metals from the concentrate. Leaching experiments were performed to compare the availability of APS as an oxidizing agent for leaching of the concentrate under atmospheric conditions and in an autoclave system. Leaching temperature and APS concentration were found to be important parameters in both leaching systems. Atmospheric leaching studies showed that the metal extractions increased with the increase in APS concentration and temperature （up to 333 K）. A similar tendency was determined in the autoclave studies up to 423 K. It was also determined that the metal extractions decreased at temperatures above 423 K due to the passivation of the particle surface by molten elemental sulfur. The results showed that higher copper extractions could be achieved using an autoclave system.

Corrosion behavior of tempered dual-phase steel embedded in concrete

Dual-phase （DP） steels with different martensite contents were obtained by appropriate heat treatment of an SAE1010 structural carbon steel, which was cheap and widely used in the construction industry. The corrosion behavior of DP steels in concrete was investigated under various tempering conditions. Intercritical annealing heat treatment was applied to the reinforcing steel to obtain DP steels with different contents of martensite. These DP steels were tempered at 200, 300, and 400℃ for 45 min and then cooled to room temperature. Corrosion experiments were conducted in two stages. In the first stage, the corrosion potential of DP steels embedded in concrete was measured every day for a period of 30 d based on the ASTM C 876 standard. In the second stage, the anodic and cathodic polarization values of these steels were obtained and subsequently the corrosion currents were determined with the aid of cathodic polarization curves. It was observed that the amount of second phase had a definite effect on the corrosion behavior of the DP steel embedded in concrete. As a result of this study, it is found that the corrosion rate of the DP steel increases with an increase in the amount of martensite.

Prediction of wear loss quantities of ferro-alloy coating using different machine learning algorithms

In this study,experimental wear losses under different loads and sliding distances of AISI 1020 steel surfaces coated with(wt.%)50FeCrC‐20FeW‐30FeB and 70FeCrC‐30FeB powder mixtures by plasma transfer arc welding were *** dataset comprised 99 different wear amount measurements obtained experimentally in the *** linear regression(LR),support vector machine(SVM),and Gaussian process regression(GPR)algorithms are used for predicting wear quantities.A success rate of 0.93 was obtained from the LR algorithm and 0.96 from the SVM and GPR algorithms.

A study on Cr(Ⅵ)reduction from aqueous solutions by bauxite

The reduction of Cr（Ⅵ） in aqueous solution by using bauxite ore was *** results for Cr（Ⅵ）reduction in aqueous solution depending on some factors such as time,sulfuric acid amount,bauxite dosage,initial Cr（Ⅵ）concentration,formic acid concentration,daylight and temperature were *** obtained results show that sulfuric acid amount,bauxite dosage and initial Cr（Ⅵ） concentration of solution are most effective parameters on the reduction ***,it has been found that the 60 g/L of bauxite dosage is sufficient to reduce up to 100% of Cr（Ⅵ） from acidic solution under the condition of low initial Cr（Ⅵ） mass concentrations such as 10 mg/*** reduction reaction is completed within 30 min at 25 ℃ under the experimental conditions：bauxite dosage of 60 g/L,amount of sulfuric acid 40-60 stoichiometric and initial mass concentration of Cr（Ⅵ）,10 mg/*** was determined that reduction percentage is decreasing with increasing initial Cr（Ⅵ） *** chemical oxygen demand of bauxite ore was found to be 26 mg COD/g.

Wear tests are essential in the design of parts intended to work in environments that subject a part to high *** tests involve high cost and lengthy experiments,and require special test *** use of machine learning algorithms for wear loss quantity predictions is a potentially effective means to eliminate the disadvantages of experimental methods such as cost,labor,and *** this study,wear loss data of AISI 1020 steel coated by using a plasma transfer arc welding(PTAW)method with FeCrC,FeW,and FeB powders mixed in different ratios were obtained experimentally by some of the researchers in our *** mechanical properties of the coating layers were detected by microhardness measurements and dry sliding wear *** wear tests were performed at three different loads(19.62,39.24,and 58.86 N)over a sliding distance of 900 *** this study,models have been developed by using four different machine learning algorithms(an artificial neural network(ANN),extreme learning machine(ELM),kernel-based extreme learning machine(KELM),and weighted extreme learning machine(WELM))on the data set obtained from the wear test *** R2 value was calculated as 0.9729 in the model designed with WELM,which obtained the best performance among the models evaluated.

Optimization of selective copper extraction from chalcopyrite concentrate in presence of ammonium persulfate and ammonium hydroxide

The dissolution of copper and iron from chalcopyrite concentrate in the presence of ammonium persulfate(APS)and ammonium hydroxide was investigated under atmospheric leaching *** were designed by central composite design(CCD).Under the optimum leaching conditions((NH4)2S2O8 concentration=328 g/L;NH4OH addition=16vol%;leaching temperature=321 K(48℃);leaching time=120 min;liquid-to-solid ratio=16;stirring speed=400 r/min),selective leaching was achieved.98.14%of the copper was leached,whereas iron did not pass into the solution.X-ray diffraction analysis of the leaching residue showed that iron compounds were *** the leaching results,the fact that the leaching process does not include uneconomical leaching stages such as extended milling/mechanical activation or high pressures/temperatures,and the low copper dissolution conditions,the attained selective leaching yield may be remarkable.
