Genome evolution arises from two main ways of duplication and reduction. Fish specific genome duplication （FSGD） may have occurred before the radiation of the teleosts. Common carp （Cyprinus carpio L.） has been considered to be a tetraploid species, because of its chromosome numbers （2n=100） and its high DNA content. Using 69 microsatellite primer pairs, the variations were studied to better understand the genome evolution （genome duplication and diploidization） of common carp from a gynogenetic family. About 48% of primer pairs were estimated to amplify duplicates based on the number of PCR amplification per individual. Segregation patterns in the family suggested a partially duplicated genome structure and disomic inheritance. This indicates that the common carp is tetraploid and polyploidy occurred by allotetraploidy. Two primer pairs （HLJ021 and HLJ332） were estimated to amplify reduction based on the number of PCR amplification per individual. One allele in HLJ002 locus and HLJ332 locus was clearly lost in the gynogenetic family and the same as in six wild populations. Segregation patterns in the family suggested a partially diplodization genome structure. A hypothesis transition （dynamic） and equilibrium （static） were proposed to explain the common carp genome evolution between genome duplication and diploidization.

The F-box protein-encoding gene family plays an essential role in plant stress *** present study,126 non-redundant F-box genes were identified in barley(Hordeum vulgare L.,Hv).The corresponding proteins contained 165–887 amino acid residues and all were amphiphilic,except 5 *** analysis of F-box protein sequences in barley and stress-related F-box protein sequences in wheat and Arabidopsis thaliana(At)was used to classify barley F-box genes are divided into 9 subfamilies(A–I).A structure-based sequence alignment demonstrated that F-box proteins were highly conserved with a total of 10 conserved *** total,124 F-box genes were unevenly distributed on 7 chromosomes;another 2 genes have not been anchored *** gene structure analysis revealed high variability in the number of exons and introns in F-box *** analysis of expression profiles and phylogenetic tree analysis,a total of 12 F-box genes that may be related to stress tolerance in barley were *** the 12 detected F-box genes,8 and 10 were upregulated after drought and salt stress treatments,respectively,using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR).This study is the first systematic analysis conducted on the F-box gene family in barley,which is of great importance for clarifying this family’s bioinformatic characteristics and elucidating its function in barley stress *** results will serve as a theoretical reference for subsequent research on molecular regulation mechanisms,genetic breeding,and improvement.

Dear Editor,Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome(SFTS),caused by SFTS virus(SFTSV)in the genus Banyangvirus of the family Phenuiviridae,is an emerging tick-borne viral zoonosis(Liu et al.2014).Typical clinical symptoms of SFTS include fever,headache,thrombocytopenia,and leukocytopenia(Yu et al.2011).Since SFTSV was identified in 2009,it has been found in more than 20 provinces in China and is closely related to strains from Japan and South Korea(Kim et al.2013;Takahashi et al.2014).

Objective In addition to assessing educational needs of family medicine trainees in Ghana,we sought to assess whether those entering the training programme aimed to pursue an academic *** A case study using an anonymous cross-sectional survey through collaboration between faculty members from the family medicine departments of Ghana and the University of *** The family medicine postgraduate trainees and the most recent graduates in the three training sites,Accra,Kumasi and Mampong,as well as modular residents in Ghana served as the targeted participants during data collection between October and November of *** Second and third year family medicine residents,fellows(known as senior residents in Ghana)and recent graduates were invited to participate in this ***-five of 77 eligible subjects provided responses(46%response rate),but five records were eliminated due to incomplete data to yield a survey completion rate of 39%(30/77).Result Participants were mostly men(n=19),and the average age of respondents was 37 years *** participants indicated the residency programmes needed more faculty 97%(n=29),supervision during outpatient care 87%(n=26)and lectures 83%(n=25).The main reason provided by respondents for entering residency programme in family medicine,which is currently not required for practising primary care in Ghana,was to obtain more education 93%(n=28).Participants who had completed the residency programme were much more likely to be interested in becoming faculty compared with those still in residency(pfamily medicine training programmes and supports investing in trainees and new graduates as future faculty candidates.

Anlotinib has strong antiangiogenic effects and leads to vessel ***,the“window period”characteristic in regulating vessel normalization by anlotinib cannot fully explain the long-term survival benefits achieved through combining it with other *** this study,through RNA sequencing(RNA-seq)and label-free quantitative proteomics analysis,we discovered that anlotinib regulated the expression of components of the extracellular matrix(ECM),leading to a significant reduction in ECM *** bioinformatic analysis revealed a potential positive relationship between the ECM pathway and gefitinib resistance,poor treatment outcomes for programmed death 1(PD-1)targeting,and unfavourable prognosis following chemotherapy in lung cancer *** administered anlotinib in combination with these antitumour drugs and visualized their distribution using fluorescent labelling in various tumour ***,our results demonstrated that anlotinib prolonged the retention time and distribution of antitumour drugs at the tumour ***,the combination therapy induced notable loosening of the tumour tissue *** reduction was associated with decreased interstitial fluid pressure and tumour solid ***,we observed that anlotinib effectively suppressed the Ras homologue family member A(RhoA)/Rho-associated protein kinase(ROCK)signalling *** findings suggest that,in addition to its antiangiogenic and vessel normalization effects,anlotinib can increase the distribution and retention of antitumour drugs in tumours by modulating ECM expression and physical properties through the RhoA/ROCK signalling *** valuable insights contribute to the development of combination therapies aimed at improving tumour targeting in cancer treatment.

Home care with acupuncture increased the quality of life in a patient with advanced cancer with neuropathic pain induced by bone metastasis: a case report

A 66-year-old female patient was diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma accompanied by neuropathic pain induced by a metastatic tumor that compromised root and spinal canal. Although her pain was relieved following medical treatment, breakthrough pain occurring 1–2 times a day was still *** pain in her right lower limb caused discomfort and irritability and decreased her quality of life. We had limited options to adjust her prescription drug regime, due to the side effect of these *** acupuncture therapy was only performed at her home once a week, the efficacy was outstanding. The patient did not report any further instances of breakthrough pain, and she did not require additional bolus morphine. She could comfortably live in her familiar surroundings with her family and did not require any emergency room visits or admission into the hospital during the last month of her *** had excellent quality of life in the terminal period of her life, and could even participate in a family function during this time. The present case report suggests that acupuncture may have a role in treating neuropathic pain induced by bone metastasis in patients with advanced cancer across clinical and inhome settings.

Objectives:*** examine the characteristics of patients with erectile dysfunction in a family physician led erectile dysfunction clinic;*** review association of chronic disease spectrum and erectile dysfunction;*** review initial treatment pattern and ***:Retrospective case series ***:All consecutive patients seen in a regional hospital family physician led erectile dysfunction clinic from April 2014 to March *** outcome measures:*** severity of erectile dysfunction,based on International Index of Erectile Function(IIEF-5).*** associated chronic comorbidities of *** patterns and patient ***:One hundred and eighty three patients presented with erectile dysfunction(ED)with mean age 58.7(range 23 to 82)years old were seen during the study *** hundred and twenty seven patients(69.4%)had comorbidity of chronic diseases,including 50.8%had hypertension,38.8%had diabetes mellitus and 33.9%had *** mean body mass index was 25.2 kg/m2,the mean blood pressure was 137.3/79.5 mm Hg(1 mm Hg=0.133 kPa).According to IIEF-5 score,50.3%,30.6%and 18.6%had severe,moderate and mild erectile dysfunction *** average duration of ED before seeking medical help was 3.9 *** 5(PDE5)inhibitors were prescribed to 119 patients(65%),and 57.1%of them achieved good *** nine patients(15.8%)were referred to other specialty for further management,including 27.6%had contraindication for PDE5 ***:High proportion of erectile dysfunction patients had comorbitiy of chronic dis-eases.57.1%of those patients receiving PDE5 inhibitors showed good response.

A Pleiotropic Drug Resistance family Protein Gene Is Required for Rice Growth, Seed Development and Zinc Homeostasis

Zinc(Zn) is an essential mineral element for plant growth and development. Zn deficiency in crops frequently occurs in many types of soils. It is therefore crucial to identify genetic resources linking Zn acquisition traits and development of crops with improved Zn-use efficiency for sustainable crop production. In this study, we functionally identified a rice uncharacterized ABCG(ATP-binding cassette G-subfamily) gene encoding a PDR20(pleiotropic drug resistance 20) metal transporter for mediation of rice growth, seed development and Zn accumulation. OsPDR20 was localized to the plasma membrane, but it was not transcriptionally induced under Zn deficiency, rather was sufficiently up-regulated under high level of Zn stress. Yeast(Saccharomyces cerevisiae) transformed with OsPDR20 displayed a relatively lower Zn accumulation with attenuated cellular growth, suggesting that OsPDR20 had an activity for Zn transport. Knocking-down OsPDR20 by RNA interference(RNAi) compromised rice growth with shorter plant height and decreased biomass in rice plantlets grown under hydroponic media. Zn concentration in the roots of OsPDR20 knocked-down rice lines declined under Zn deficiency, while they remained unchanged compared with the wild type under normal Zn supply. A rice lifelong field trial demonstrated that OsPDR20 mutation impaired the capacity of seed development, with shortened panicle and seed length, compromised spikelet fertility, and reduced grain number per plant or grain weight per unit area. Interestingly, OsPDR20 mutation elevated the accumulation of Zn in husk and brown rice over the wild type. Overall, this study pointed out that OsPDR20 is fundamentally required for rice growth and seed development through Zn transport and homeostasis.
