Spatio-temporal Dynamic Simulation of Land use and Ecological Risk in the Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomeration,China

Rapid urbanization leads to dramatic changes in land use patterns,and the land use/cover change(LUCC)can reflect the spatial impact of urbanization on the ecological *** the process of LUCC and predicting the ecological risk future changes can provide supports for urban ecological *** the Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomeration(YRDUA),China as the study area,four developmental scenarios were set on the basis of the land use data from 2005 to *** temporal land use changes were predicted by the integration of the system dynamic and the future land use simulation(SD-FLUS)model,and the geographically weighted regression(GWR)model was used to identify the spatial heterogeneity and evolution characteristics between ecological risk index(ERI)and socio-economic driving *** showed that:1)From 2005 to 2015,the expansion of construction land(7670.24 km^(2))mainly came from the occupation of cultivated land(7854.22 km2).The Kappa coefficient of the SD-FLUS model was 0.886,indicating that this model could be used to predict the future land use changes in the YRDUA.2)Gross domestic production(GDP)and population density(POP)showed a positive effect on the ERI,and the impact of POP exceeded that of *** ERI showed the characteristics of zonal diffusion and a slight upward trend,and the high ecological risk region increased by 6.09%,with the largest increase.3)Under different developmental scenarios,the land use and ecological risk patterns *** construction land is increased by 5.76%,7.41%,5.25%and 6.06%,*** the high ecological risk region accounted for 12.71%,15.06%,11.89%,and 12.94%,*** Scenario D,the structure of land use and ecological risk pattern was better compared with other scenarios considering the needs of rapid economic and ecological *** study is helpful to understand the spatio-temporal pattern and demand of land use types,grasp the ecological security pattern of large-sc

A Pluralistic and Participatory Community Governance Model for Urban China in the Era of Economic and Spatial Restructuring

As China’s socio-economic development is entering into a transitioning era,urban residents’demands are becoming more diversified,complicated,and *** to address issues regarding community environmental renovation,infrastructure and facilities constructions,and efficient public service supplies,measures should be adopted to adjust the urban community governance model in China to face emergent *** this background,this paper argues that the"participating actors,""community management and organization framework,""related laws,regulations,and policies,"and"resources allocation and management"are the four crucial dimensions in urban community *** then adopted these four underpinnings as the theoretical framework to unravel the complex dynamics of community governance in contemporary urban *** paper argues that the current community governance system falls short in accommodating the growing demands of community development due to"ambiguity of participating actors,""excessive administrative intervention on community management,""insufficient legislation supports,"and a"deficiency in financing management system."Therefore,this paper argues that through the pluralization of public participation,diversification of community organization modes,and the enhancement of participation accessibility,community governance performance in urban China could be drastically ***,a pluralistic and participatory community governance model is proposed in this paper to provide additional policy implications for community governance in urban China.

Feasibility Study of Optimal Sizing of Micro-Cogeneration System for Convenience Stores in Bangkok

In this paper, the optimization of micro-cogeneration (μ-CHP) system sizing for convenience stores in Thailand is conducted under the present condition of fuel prices and tariff rates. The assessment of (μ-CHP) system performance is analyzed by using Primary Energy Saving (PES) Ratio for evaluating the energy performance. Also, the Annual Cost Saving Ratio (CSR) and Payback Period (PBP) are used for evaluating the economic performance of μ-CHP system. The analysis results show the optimal size of μ-CHP system under possible conditions including the operating schedule and system’s efficiency were conducted.

Changes in serum thyroid hormone levels and thyroid gland activity of artificially maturing female Japanese eel (Anguilla japonica)

In order to evaluate the involvement of the thyroid gland in reproduction, thyroid functioning was described in female cultivated Japanese eel (Anguilla japonica) in progressive stages of sexual maturation induced by chum salmon pituitary homogenate (SPH) treatment. Serum thyroid hormones, thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3) were also measured in each stage. Thyroid gland activity (epithelial cell height) was high before SPH injection (previtellogenic stage), further increasing at the early vitellogenic stage, thereafter decreasing to late vitellogenic and migratory nucleus stages. The profiles of both T3 and T4 changed during vitellogenesis, being high during previtellogenic and early vitellogenic stages, and subsequently declining, thus mimicking thyroid gland activity. These results suggest that the thyroid has relation with eel ovarian development during artificial maturation.

Low Complexity Encoder with Multilabel Classification and Image Captioning Model

Due to the advanced development in the multimedia-on-demandtraffic in different forms of audio, video, and images, has extremely movedon the vision of the Internet of Things (IoT) from scalar to Internet ofMultimedia Things (IoMT). Since Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) generates a massive quantity of the multimedia data, it becomes a part of IoMT,which are commonly employed in diverse application areas, especially forcapturing remote sensing (RS) images. At the same time, the interpretationof the captured RS image also plays a crucial issue, which can be addressedby the multi-label classification and Computational Linguistics based imagecaptioning techniques. To achieve this, this paper presents an efficient lowcomplexity encoding technique with multi-label classification and image captioning for UAV based RS images. The presented model primarily involves thelow complexity encoder using the Neighborhood Correlation Sequence (NCS)with a burrows wheeler transform (BWT) technique called LCE-BWT forencoding the RS images captured by the UAV. The application of NCS greatlyreduces the computation complexity and requires fewer resources for imagetransmission. Secondly, deep learning (DL) based shallow convolutional neural network for RS image classification (SCNN-RSIC) technique is presentedto determine the multiple class labels of the RS image, shows the novelty ofthe work. Finally, the Computational Linguistics based Bidirectional EncoderRepresentations from Transformers (BERT) technique is applied for imagecaptioning, to provide a proficient textual description of the RS image. Theperformance of the presented technique is tested using the UCM dataset. Thesimulation outcome implied that the presented model has obtained effectivecompression performance, reconstructed image quality, classification results,and image captioning outcome.

Revolutionary Objects： Pure Forms and Disorder in Ivan Leonidov＇s Work

This paper analyzes compositional strategies of Russian avant-garde architecture from the 1920s and 1930s through the study of the work of Ivan Leonidov （1902-1959）, one of the leading and most prolific architects of this movement. In this study, Leonidov＇s work is located within its predominant architectural context, and his work is interpreted not only as a reaction against the domineering principles of classicism, but as an evolution and selective continuation of key concepts directly translated from architectural academism. The issues of the use of pure forms--a radical stance at odds with the commonly accepted morphologies of that era--associated with the principles of displaced symmetry, or disorder, are closely looked at and evaluated against both their architectural and political values within the context of post-revolutionary Russia. It is argued that the characteristic of weightlessness in his large-scale planning proposals is revelatory of a particular desire to invade space with political presence, thus demanding to reconsider the relation between space and architectural objects. Parallels are also drawn from French Revolutionary architecture, and from the work of Claude-Nicolas Ledoux in particular, whose search for purity and autonomy in architectural morphology preceded that of Soviet architecture. As Leonidov＇s legacy mainly consists of drawings of buildings that never got built, his influence can often be felt in the work of other architects which until today have drawn formal elements and compositional strategies from his relatively vast volume of un-built work.

An Assessment of an Urban Development-Flood-Impact Relationship in a Near Millionaire City of Cameroon (Bamenda)

Since the 1990s flood water hazards have recurrently created reason vexing moments on the Cameroonian urban folk of major and minor towns by inflicting fatality toll beating-off manned efforts to mitigate the ugliness unleashed. Flood catastrophe in frequency and toll in towns sited on more inland highland towns like Bamenda has given birth to dynamic survival strategies since impacts change in space and time. Northern Bamenda has emerged as haven for ravaging River Mezam with rising forms of flood havoc on humans and their investments. Primary and secondary data collected from related stakeholders (government and municipal officials concerned with abating the flood occurrence and managing its aftermath as well as individuals who consciously or not trigger the floods). The aim of this study was to relativize flood water bearing on urban population reactions in the wake of the rising calamity. Results reveal that flood trends are advancing yearly in the like of fatalities that systematically make nonsense of urban setup human endeavours to tame floods. This study considers that an urgent urban flood hazard perception revolution must be engaged for this unplanned urban front that is developing where the topography presents a funnelling effect to stream water and so obviously has no respect for the existing flood countering socio-economic and engineering adaptations. Such flood disrespect for urban humans call for man-centred innovative and comprehensive paradigms should there be any hope for less hazardous sustainable city growth in Cameroon.

Customized scaffolds for large bone defects using 3D‑printed modular blocks from 2D‑medical images

Additive manufacturing(AM)has revolutionized the design and manufacturing of patient-specific,three-dimensional(3D),complex porous structures known as scaffolds for tissue engineering *** use of advanced image acquisition techniques,image processing,and computer-aided design methods has enabled the precise design and additive manufacturing of anatomically correct and patient-specific implants and ***,these sophisticated techniques can be timeconsuming,labor-intensive,and ***,the necessary imaging and manufacturing equipment may not be readily available when urgent treatment is needed for trauma *** this study,a novel design and AM methods are proposed for the development of modular and customizable scaffold blocks that can be adapted to fit the bone defect area of a *** modular scaffold blocks can be combined to quickly form any patient-specific scaffold directly from two-dimensional(2D)medical images when the surgeon lacks access to a 3D printer or cannot wait for lengthy 3D imaging,modeling,and 3D printing during *** proposed method begins with developing a bone surface-modeling algorithm that reconstructs a model of the patient’s bone from 2D medical image measurements without the need for expensive 3D medical imaging or *** algorithm can generate both patient-specific and average bone ***,a biomimetic continuous path planning method is developed for the additive manufacturing of scaffolds,allowing porous scaffold blocks with the desired biomechanical properties to be manufactured directly from 2D data or *** algorithms are implemented,and the designed scaffold blocks are 3D printed using an extrusion-based AM *** and instructions are also provided to assist surgeons in assembling scaffold blocks for the self-repair of patient-specific large bone defects.

Spatial Impact of High-speed Railway on the Urban Scale:An Empirical Analysis from Northeast China

The emergence of rapid transit,primarily represented by high-speed railway(HSR),while reshaping the regional traffic patterns,leads to the reconstruction and redistribution of population and *** leads to either shrinkage or expansion of urban ***,research on the influence mechanisms of the urban scale has mostly concentrated on historical,economic and social *** influence of traffic factors is rarely mentioned in current ***,this study examines Northeast China,where the change in urban scale is most significant,to discuss the spatial impact of high-speed railway on the urban *** is of great significance in terms of enriching current understanding of the factors affecting the urban *** results included the following:1)The high-speed railway produced considerable space-time convergence effects,however,simultaneously aggravated the imbalance in traffic development in Northeast *** increase in accessibility presents attenuation characteristics from the high-speed ***,the high-speed railway has changed the mode of cooperation between cities in the provinces,inter-regional and inter-provincial cooperation models gradually become popular.2)The change rate of accessibility and the urban scale present significant spatial coupling phenomena,with the change rate of the Harbin-Dalian trunk lines and its surroundings being more significant.3)There are predominantly four modes of the influence of high-speed railway on the urban scale,which make difference city present expansion or shrinkage.
