Bismuth-based catalysts are highly promising for the electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction reaction(eCO_(2)RR)to formate ***,achieving high activity and selectivity towards formate and ensuring long-term stability remains *** work reports the oxygen plasma inducing strategy to construct the abundant grain boundaries of Bi/BiO_x on ultrathin two-dimensional Bi *** oxygen plasma-treated Bi nanosheet(OP-Bi)exhibits over 90%Faradaic efficiency(FE)for formate at a wide potential range from-0.5 to-1.1 V,and maintains a great stability catalytic performance without significant decay over 30 h in flow ***,membrane electrode assembly(MEA)device with OPBi as catalyst sustains the robust current density of 100 mA cm^(-2)over 50 h,maintaining a formate FE above 90%.In addition,rechargeable Zn-CO_(2)battery presents the peak power density of1.22 mW cm^(-2)with OP-Bi as bifunctional *** mechanism experiments demonstrate that the high-density grain boundaries of OP-Bi provide more exposed active sites,faster electron transfer capacity,and the stronger intrinsic activity of Bi *** situ spectroscopy and theo retical calculations further elucidate that the unsaturated Bi coordination atoms between the grain boundaries can effectively activate CO_(2)molecules through elongating the C-O bond,and reducing the formation energy barrier of the key intermediate(^(*)OCOH),thereby enhancing the catalytic performance of eCO_(2)RR to formate product.

Constructing porous ZnFC-PA/PSF composite spheres for highly efficient Cs^(+) removal

Radioisotope leaking from nuclear waste has become an intractable problem due to its gamma radiation and strong water *** this work,a novel porous ZnFC-PA/PSF composite sphere was fabricated by immobilization of ferrocyanides modified zinc phytate into polysulfone(PSF)substrate for the treatment of Cs-contaminated *** maximum adsorption capacity of ZnFC-PA/PSF was 305.38 mg/g,and the removal efficiency of Cs+was reached 94.27%within 2 *** ZnFC-PA/PSF presented favorable stability with negligible dissolution loss of Zn^(2+)and Fe^(2+)(<2%).The ZnFC-PA/PSF achieved high-selectivity towards Cs+(K_(d)=2.24×10^(4)mL/g)even in actual geothermal *** adsorption mechanism was inferred to be the ion-exchange between Cs^(+)and K^(+).What’s more,ZnFC-PA/PSF worked well in the fixed-bed adsorption(E=91.92%),indicating the application potential for the hazardous Cs^(+)removal from wastewater.

Numerical Simulation on Production Trials by Using Depressurization for Typical marine Hydrate Reservoirs:Well Type and Formation Dip

natural gas hydrate has huge reserves and is widely distributed in marine *** commercial development is of great significance for alleviating the contradiction between energy supply and *** an efficient research method,numerical simulation can provide valuable insights for the design and optimization of hydrate ***,most of the current production models simplify the reservoir as a two-dimensional(2D)horizontal layered model,often ignoring the impact of formation dip *** improve the accuracy of production prediction and provide theoretical support for the optimization of production well design,two three-dimensional(3D)geological models with different dip angles based on the geological data from two typical sites are *** vertical well,horizontal well and multilateral wells are deployed in these reservoirs with different permeabilities to perform production trial,and the sensitivity analysis of dip angles is also carried *** short-term production behaviors in high and low permeability reservoirs with different dip angles are *** simulation results show that 1)the gas and water production behaviors for different well types in the two typical reservoirs show obviously different variation laws when the short-term depressurization is conducted in the inclined formation;2)the inclined formation will reduce the gas production and increase the water extraction,and the phenomena becomes pronounced as the dip angle increases,particularly in the low-permeability reservoirs;3)and the impact of formation dip on hydrate recovery does not change significantly with the variation of well type.

Evaluation of the Relative Tectonic Activity from the Faults in the Gengma-Lancang-Menghai Seismic Belt(Southwestern China)

The Gengma-Lancang-Menghai seismic belt,the southernmost part of the North-South seismic belt,is controlled by four active faults:the Nantinghe fault(NTHF),the Sanjianshan fault(SJSF),the Hanmuba-Lancang fault(HMB-LCF),and the Heihe fault(HHF),from northwest to ***,the tectonic activity of the faults in the Gengma-Lancang-Menghai seismic belt has not been fully studied *** the present work,we conducted tectonic geomorphic indices to analyze the relative tectonic activity along the faults in the seismic belt based on the digital elevation *** interpreted asymmetric factor,index of drainage basin shape,hypsometric integral,normalized streamlength gradient,valley floor-to-width to height ratio,and longitudinal profiles to show that the relative tectonic activity is higher in the north and lower in the south,and is strong in the region from Shanjia to Huimin in the center of the seismic belt.

Changes in climatic conditions drive variations in arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi diversity and composition in semi-arid oak forests

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF)play a vital role in plant productivity and ecosystem ***,their responses to abiotic factors(i.e.,climate,physiography,and soil properties)are unknown,especially across climatic gradients and slope aspects in arid and semi-arid *** this study,using 60 composite soil samples,direct and indirect effects of climate factors and slope aspects on AMF diversity,composition and spore density were *** findings indicate that climate has a more direct influ-ence on soil properties(P<0.001)in comparison to slope aspect(P=0.449).In contrast,climate significantly affected AMF diversity and composition,with the highest diversity in dryer *** pH had the highest correlation with different facets of AMF *** equation modeling(SEM)indicated that only a small part of the variation in AMF diversity and spore density could be explained by climate characteristics,slope aspect and soil *** on SEM results,climate was the most important determinant of AMF diversity and spore density;slope aspect had a less critical *** outputs suggest that variations in AMF diversity are derived by the direct effects of climate and the indirect effect of soil chemical *** addition,with increasing dryness,sporulation and AMF diversity increased.

Tracing the sources of nutrients through the Tsushima/Korea Strait

The nutrients from the East China Sea(ECS) through the Tsushima/Korea Strait(TS) strongly impact the eco system of the Japan Sea(JS).The complex origins of the Tsushima Warm Current and the various nutrient sources in the ECS result in complex spatial-temporal variations in nutrients in the *** a physical-biological model with a tracking technique,we studied the effects of nutrient sources from the ECS on the *** all the nutrient sources,the Kuroshio has the highest nutrient concentrations in the *** maximum concentration occurs at the bottom,while those of rivers and atmospheric depo sition occur at the surface,and that of the Taiwan Strait occurs in the middle *** nutrient transport through the TS exhibits similar seasonal variations,as does the volume *** transport of nutrients from the Kuroshio accounts for more than 85% of the *** transport of nutrients from the Taiwan Strait is greater during autumn and *** transport of dissolved inorganic nitrogen(DIN) from both rivers and atmospheric deposition through the TS peak in *** transport cannot be equated with volume *** DIN in the less saline zone originates not only from rivers but also from atmospheric deposition and the *** transport of nutrients from the Taiwan Strait is not as significant as its volume transport in the TS.

Seasonal freeze-thaw processes impact microbial communities of soil aggregates associated with soil pores on the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau

Background Seasonal freeze-thaw(FT) processes alter soil formation and cause changes in soil microbial communi-ties, which regulate the decomposition of organic matter in alpine ecosystems. Soil aggregates are basic structural units and play a critical role in microbial habitation. However, the impact of seasonal FT processes on the distribution of microbial communities associated with soil pores in different aggregate fractions under climate change has been overlooked. In this study, we sampled soil aggregates from two typical alpine ecosystems(alpine meadow and alpine shrubland) during the seasonal FT processes(UFP: unstable freezing period, SFP: stable frozen period, UTP: unstable thawing period and STP: stable thawed period). The phospholipid fatty acid(PLFA) method was used to determine the biomass of living microbes in different aggregate *** The microbial biomass of 0.25–2 mm and 0.053–0.25 mm aggregates did not change significantly dur-ing the seasonal FT process while the microbial biomass of > 2 mm aggregates presented a significant difference between the STP and UTP. Bacterial communities dominated the microbes in aggregates, accounting for over 80% of the total PLFAs. The microbial communities of soil aggregates in the surface layer were more sensitive to the sea-sonal FT process than those in other soil layers. In the thawing period, Gram positive bacteria(GP) was more dominant. In the freezing period, the ratio of Gram-positive to Gram-negative bacterial PLFAs(GP/GN) was low because the enrichment of plant litter facilitated the formation of organic matter. In the freezing process, pores of 30–80 μm(mesopores) favored the habitation of fungal and actinobacterial communities while total PLFAs and bacterial PLFAs were negatively correlated with mesopores in the thawing *** The freezing process caused a greater variability in microbial biomass of different aggregate fractions. Salinity fronts shape spatial patterns in zooplankton distribution in Hangzhou Bay

Ocean fronts play important roles in nutrient transport and in the shaping ecological *** zones in small bays are typically small in scale,have a complex structure,and they are spatially and temporally variable,but there are limited data on how biological communities respond to this *** Bay,a mediumsized estuary in China,is an ideal place in which to study the response of plankton to small-scale ocean fronts,because three water masses(Qiantang River Diluted Water,Changjiang River Diluted Water,and the East China Sea current) converge here and form dynamic salinity fronts throughout the *** investigate zooplankton communities,and temperature,salinity and chlorophyll a(Chl a) in Hangzhou Bay in June(wet perio d) and December(dry period) of 2022 and examine the dominant environmental factors that affect zooplankton community spatial *** then match the spatial distributions of zooplankton communities with those of salinity fronts.S alinity is the most important explanatory variable to affect zooplankton community spatial variability during both wet and dry periods,in that it contributes>60% of the variability in community ***,the spatial distributions of zooplankton match well with salinity *** December,with weaker Qiantang River Diluted Water and a stronger secondary Changjiang River Plume,zooplankton communities occur in moderate salinity(MS,salinity range 15.6±2.2) and high salinity(HS,22.4±1.7) regions,and their ecological boundaries closely match the Qiantang River Diluted Water *** June,different zooplankton communities occur in low salinity(LS,3.9±1.0),MS(11.7±3.6) and HS(21.3±1.9) *** the LS region occurs abnormally in the central bay rather than its apex because of the anomalous influence of rising and falling tides during the sampling perio d,the ecological boundaries still match salinity ***-salinity or brackish-water zooplankter taxa are relatively more abunda

Location of Disaster Management Bases Using Spatial Analysis
