Robust color purity of reddish-orange emission from Sm^(3+)-activated La10W22O81 biocompatible microphosphors for solid state lighting and anticancer applications

We synthesized reddish-orange luminescent La_(10)W_(22)O_(81)(LWO):Sm^(3+)microphosphors by hydrothermalassisted solid-state reaction.X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that all the studied phosphors crystallize in an orthorhombic structure in the Pbcn space group(60),Field emission scanning electron microscopy indicates that the LWO:1.5 mol% Sm^(3+)phosphor displays a smooth-surfaced hexagonal rod-like shape,with a closed shape at both ends,and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy demonstrates a robust crystalline *** chemical composition and valence states of the phosphor were investigated using X-ray photoelectron *** 403 nm excitation,LWO:1.5 mol% Sm3+exhibits maximum intensity with the strongest band at 596 nm(^(4)G_(5/2)→^(6)H_(7/2)) in the reddish-orange *** intensity of Sm^(3+) emission decreases beyond 1.5 mol% owing to concentration quenching regulated by dipole-quadrupole interaction between Sm^(3+)*** optimized microphosphor LWO:1.5 mol% Sm^(3+)exhibits color coordinates(0.5760,0.4207),which is close to that of the Amber LED-NSPAR 70 BS(0.570,0.420),displaying the highest color purity of 99.2% and correlated color temperature of 1694 *** addition,both breast cancer cells MCF-7 and normal lung fibroblasts WI-38 were tested for toxicity with the optimized *** is found that the LWO:1.5 Sm^(3+)microphosphor is extremely toxic to cancer cells,but not to normal *** on these results,LWO:Sm^(3+)microphosphor can serve as a biomedical candidate for the treatment of cancer,as well as a potential multicolor emitting material for w-LEDs.

The surrogate model technology has a good performance in solving black-box optimization problems,which is widely used in multi-domain engineering optimization *** adaptive surrogate model is the mainstream research direction of surrogate model technology,which can realize model fitting and global optimization of engineering problems by infilling *** on the idea of the adaptive surrogate model,this paper proposes an efficient global optimization algorithm based on the local remodeling method(EGO-LR),which aims at improving the accuracy and optimization efficiency of the *** proposed algorithm firstly constructs the expectation improvement(EI)function in the local area and optimizes it to get the update ***,the obtained update points are added to the global region until the global accuracy of the model meets the *** the differential evolution algorithm is used for global *** benchmark functions are used to compare the EGO-LR algorithm with the existing *** results show that the EGO-LR algorithm can quickly converge to the accuracy requirements of the model and find the optimal value efficiently when facing complex problems with many local extrema and large variable *** proposed algorithm is applied to the optimization design of the structural parameter of the impeller,and the outflow field analysis of the impeller is realized through finite element *** optimization with the maximum fluid pressure(MP value)of the impeller as the objective function is completed,which effectively reduces the pressure value of the impeller under load.

近几十年来,大量的研究文献表明,研究人员一直在探究静态表面特性(包括自由能、韧性和弹性)对疏冰性的影响.然而,对于动态表面特性在辅助除冰方面的理解非常有限.在本工作中,我们重点研究了北三文鱼表皮的冰黏附强度,并且观察到了有趣的各向异性的冰黏附行为.与顺着鱼鳞生长方向的冰黏附强度(353±95 kPa)相比,逆着鱼鳞生长方向的冰黏附强度(141±47 kPa)降低了60%.我们发现,鱼鳞在受到剪切力的过程中,会发生独特的结构演变,从而导致界面连续断裂,有利于降低冰的黏附性.研究发现,鱼鳞的张开和剥离能力(描述了鳞片在外力下与其下部鳞片和黏结物分离的趋势)可以调控冰的脱落.通过提高鱼鳞的张开和剥离能力,可以在鱼鳞上实现更低的冰黏附强度(66±15 kPa)和更为容易的除冰过程.由于鱼鳞具有出色的机械鲁棒性,这一发现为设计坚硬耐用的防覆冰表面提供了新的视角.

Developing efficient and cost-effective electrode materials is of essential significance to advance various energy storage technologies,among which flexible supercapacitors hold great promise to meet the growing popularity of wearable ***,we report a homologous strategy to parallelly synthesize phosphorus-doped ZnCo_(2)O_(4)(P-ZnCo_(2)O_(4)@NCC)and nitrogen-doped carbon(NC@NCC)both derived from ZnCo-metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)precursors in-situ grown on dopamine-modified carbon cloth(NCC)as conductive ***,the as-obtained P-ZnCo_(2)O_(4)@NCC can achieve a high specific capacitance of 2702.2 mF∙cm^(−2)at 1 mA∙cm^(−2)with the capacitance retention rate exceeding 70.6%at 10 mA∙cm^(−2),demonstrating the outstanding rate ***,flexible solid-state hybrid supercapacitors,using P-ZnCo_(2)O_(4)@NCC as positive electrode and NC@NCC as negative electrode,are assembled with poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA)/KOH as the gel electrolyte,which deliver the energy density of 11.9 mWh∙cm^(−3)when the power density reaches up to 47.3 mW∙cm^(−3).In addition,85.15%of the initial specific capacitance is maintained after 5000 continuous cycles and no obvious capacitance decay is observed under different bending conditions,revealing the excellent cycling stability and *** a proof-of-concept demonstration,two as-assembled hybrid supercapacitors connected in series can light up a red light-emitting diode(LED)under the bending angle of 180°,heralding the feasibility for broad practical applications.

Ocean current energy is a promising and reliable resource that offers sustainability and predictability in realizing green future needs.A diffuser-augmented horizontal-axis turbine is utilized to generate ocean current energy.A numerical study on the impact of diffuser angle variations on the power coefficient has been carried out in the previous *** elucidate the fluid dynamics aspects and further validation of previous computational results,the experimental investigation on the optimal design of tidal turbine with 20.04°diffuser augmentation is presented in this *** study was conducted in a flowing tank with a current velocity of 0.7 m/*** maximum power coefficient of 20.04°is 0.436 experimentally,which is a little smaller than the numerical ***,to reinforce the 20.04°result,a diffuser with an angle of 10.43°was also manufactured and tested *** maximum power coefficient of 10.43°is 0.303 experimentally,which is 3%smaller than the numerical *** was concluded that the numerical approach might be considered satisfactory and represent similar phenomena to the experimental investigation in an application for modelling of multi-objective optimization.

Effect of Ni content on the wear behavior of Al-Si-Cu-Mg-Ni/SiC particles composites

In recent years,the addition of Ni has been widely acknowledged to be capable of enhancing the mechanical properties of Al-Si ***,the effect of Ni on the wear behaviors of Al-Si alloys and Al matrix composites,particularly at elevated temperat-ures,remains an understudied *** this study,Al-Si-Cu-Mg-Ni/20wt%SiC particles(SiCp)composites with varying Ni contents were prepared by using a semisolid stir casting *** effect of Ni content on the dry sliding wear behavior of the prepared compos-ites was investigated through sliding tests at 25 and 350℃.Results indicated that theθ-Al_(2)Cu phase gradually diminished and eventually disappeared as the Ni content increased from 0wt%to 3wt%.This change was accompanied by the formation and increase inδ-Al_(3)CuNi andε-Al_(3)Ni phases in *** hardness and ultimate tensile strength of the as-cast composites improved,and the wear rates of the composites decreased from 5.29×10^(−4)to 1.94×10^(−4)mm^(3)/(N∙m)at 25℃and from 20.2×10^(−4)to 7×10^(−4)mm^(3)/(N∙m)at 350℃with the increase in Ni content from 0wt%to 2wt%.The enhancement in performance was due to the presence of strengthening network structures and additional Ni-containing phases in the ***,the wear rate of the 3Ni composite was approximately two times higher than that of the 2Ni composite due to the fracture and debonding of theε-Al_(3)Ni *** wear,delamination wear,and oxidation wear were the predominant wear mechanisms of the investigated composites at 25℃,whereas delamination wear and oxid-ation wear were dominant during sliding at 350℃.

In this work,we demonstrate that the corrosion resistance of the FeCrNiCoNb_(0.5) eutectic high entropy alloy(EHEA)can be tuned by controlling the size of its eutectic *** microstructure refinement,the EHEA exhibits a superb corrosion resistance in 1 M NaCl in terms of a very low corrosion current density and an ultra-high transpassviation potential,which outperforms a variety of other HEAs and conventional metals and *** the fundamental level,the microstructure refinement results in a rapid formation of a thick and compact passive film with less Cl-adsorption on the EHEA,which results in significant enhancement in its corrosion *** outcome of our research provides important insights into the design of corrosion resistant chemically complex alloys.

The size-dependent nonlinear buckling and postbuckling characteristics of circular cylindrical nanoshells subjected to the axial compressive load are investigated with an analytical approach. The surface energy effects are taken into account according to the surface elasticity theory of Gurtin and Murdoch. The developed geometrically nonlinear shell model is based on the classical Donnell shell theory and the von Karman＇s hypothesis. With the numerical results, the effect of the surface stress on the nonlinear buckling and postbuckling behaviors of nanoshells made of Si and Al is studied. Moreover, the influence of the surface residual tension and the radius-to-thickness ratio is illustrated. The results indicate that the surface stress has an important effect on prebuckling and postbuekling characteristics of nanoshells with small sizes.
