CONSUMER-DRIVEN GROUP BUYING： TRICK OR TREAT TO RETAIL STORES？

Group buying （GB） has emerged and evolved into various forms over the past decade. We investigate a distinct form of GB, namely consumer-driven group buying, whereby some consumers form purchase groups to visit stores together and negotiate for discounts. We refer to these consumers as GB consumers that differ from regular consumers who visit stores individually and pay regular prices. Visited by a purchase group, a store has to make an immediate decision to serve their demand in its entirety. Turned down by the first store it visits, the purchase group continues to visit the other store. After accommodating GB demand, the stores use remaining stocks to serve regular consumers. We demonstrate that GB can be a treat to stores that adopt proper policies to utilize it as an instrument to reach consumers. The stores are able to accommodate group demand at a price lower than regular price in most circumstances but still manage to earn stable profits. The presence of regular consumers has a subtle effect on equilibrium formation, by strengthening the stores＇ power in negotiating with GB consumers to make group price weakly increase with group size. Moreover, competing stores are able to manipulate the interactions between purchase groups and collectively earn a higher total profit than a monopolist store when GB consumers account for a small fraction of market base and competition is intense.

Macao, a former Portuguese colony and now one of only two Special Administrative Regions of the People＇s Republic of China, is undergoing unprecedented socio-economic growth and transformation. Using Macao as an empirical case, the paper examines the challenges of regional integration and globalization on legal theories, identifies how law interacts with other socio-cultural factors, and analyzes the self-reflection and self-adjustments of a legal culture in dynamic and diverse dimensions of time and space. The paper aims to find an innovative approach to discover the progressive pattern of inertia, evolution, survival, diffusion and interaction of a legal tradition in a global context.

The wave of global financial crises(2008-2009)caused a surge in the capital flows of developed countries particularly,between developed and developing *** crunch hit all financial sectors with unanticipated *** study evaluates the role of a country’s political practices in moderating the impact of global financial crunch on microfinance *** the fixed effect panel regression method on the dataset comprising of 95 MFIs operating in South Asia from 2003 to 2012,we determine that microfinance operational capability shares a positive relationship with the institutional attributes of a country and our output reveals that impact of country’s political practices is pervasive on the financial output of MFIs,liable to different levels of *** findings further reveals that MFIs situated in countries having vigorous political practices are less severely affected by the economic crunch.

The aviation industry is one of the most competitive markets. Themost common approach for airline service providers is to improve passengersatisfaction. Passenger satisfaction in the aviation industry occurs whenpassengers’ expectations are met during flights. Airline service quality iscritical in attracting new passengers and retaining existing ones. It is crucialto identify passengers’ pain points and enhance their satisfaction with theservices offered. The airlines used a variety of techniques to improve servicequality. They used data analysis approaches to analyze the passenger pointdata. These solutions have focused simply on surveys;consequently, deeplearningapproaches have received insufficient attention. In this study, deepneural networks with the adaptive moment estimation Adam optimizationalgorithm were applied to enhance classification performance. In previousstudies, the quality of the dataset has been ignored. The proposed approachwas applied to the airline passenger satisfaction dataset from the Kagglerepository. It was validated by applying artificial neural networks (ANNs),random forests, and support vector machine techniques to the same dataset. Itwas compared with other research papers that used the same dataset and had asimilar problem. The experimental results showed that the proposed approachoutperformed previous studies. It has achieved an accuracy of 99.3%.

Several decomposed body parts were received for examination by the Forensic Anthropology section of the Medico-legal Institute of João Pessoa,Paraíba,*** portions of the lower and upper limbs,ribs,vertebrae,and a skull were thoroughly *** biological profile indicated a male individual with an estimated age range between 23 and 57 years and a mean age of 35.2 years(SD=9.4;phase IV,Suchey-Brooks).The skeleton showed injuries caused by sharp force and sharp-blunt force trauma that affected all body ***,the lesions are mainly in the diaphyseal segments of the long bones,sacrum,pelvis,mandible,maxilla,scapulae,sternum,vertebrae,the distal epiphysis of the left fibula,and the distal epiphysis of the left tibia displayed characteristics compatible with injuries produced *** was not possible to determine the cause of *** resulted in a positive *** of common difficulties faced in forensic practice,it is often not possible for forensic anthropologists to go to the crime scene,X-ray or body scanners are frequently unavailable,and the victim’s medical and/or dental records are sometimes *** difficulties make identification ultimately depend on genetic analysis,which is more time-consuming than other identification *** this,bone fragment examination in dismemberment cases is a complex *** Anthropology can shed light on cases involving the identification of dismembered remains,which are challenging because of the number of traumatic injuries,as well as different injury patterns,on bones.

Kumaraswamy Inverted Topp–Leone Distribution with Applications to COVID-19 Data

In this paper, an attempt is made to discover the distributionof COVID-19 spread in different countries such as;Saudi Arabia, Italy,Argentina and Angola by specifying an optimal statistical distribution for analyzing the mortality rate of COVID-19. A new generalization of the recentlyinverted Topp Leone distribution, called Kumaraswamy inverted Topp–Leonedistribution, is proposed by combining the Kumaraswamy-G family and theinverted Topp–Leone distribution. We initially provide a linear representationof its density function. We give some of its structure properties, such as quantile function, median, moments, incomplete moments, Lorenz and Bonferronicurves, entropies measures and stress-strength reliability. Then, Bayesian andmaximum likelihood estimators for parameters of the Kumaraswamy invertedTopp–Leone distribution under Type-II censored sample are *** estimator is regarded using symmetric and asymmetric loss functions. As analytical solution is too hard, behaviours of estimates have beendone viz Monte Carlo simulation study and some reasonable comparisonshave been presented. The outcomes of the simulation study confirmed theefficiencies of obtained estimates as well as yielded the superiority of Bayesianestimate under adequate priors compared to the maximum likelihood *** to COVID-19 in some countries showed that the new distributionis more appropriate than some other competitive models.
