Zeno and the Wrong Understanding of Motion—A Philosophical-Mathematical Inquiry into the Concept of Finitude as a Peculiarity of Infinity

In contrast to the solutions of applied mathematics to Zeno’s paradoxes, I focus on the concept of motion and show that, by distinguishing two different forms of motion, Zeno’s apparent paradoxes are not paradoxical at all. Zeno’s paradoxes indirectly prove that distances are not composed of extensionless points and, in general, that a higher dimension cannot be completely composed of lower ones. Conversely, lower dimensions can be understood as special cases of higher dimensions. To illustrate this approach, I consider Cantor’s only apparent proof that the real numbers are uncountable. However, his widely accepted indirect proof has the disadvantage that it depends on whether there is another way to make the real numbers countable. Cantor rightly assumes that there can be no smallest number between 0 and 1, and therefore no beginning of counting. For this reason he arbitrarily lists the real numbers in order to show with his diagonal method that this list can never be complete. The situation is different if we start with the largest number between 0 and 1 (0.999…) and use the method of an inverted triangle, which can be understood as a special fractal form. Here we can construct a vertical and a horizontal stratification with which it is actually possible to construct all real numbers between 0 and 1 without exception. Each column is infinite, and each number in that column is the starting point of a new triangle, while each row is finite. Even in a simple sine curve, we experience finiteness with respect to the y-axis and infinity with respect to the x-axis. The first parts of this article show that Zeno’s assumptions contradict the concept of motion as such, so it is not surprising that this misconstruction leads to contradictions. In the last part, I discuss Cantor’s diagonal method and explain the method of an inverted triangle that is internally structured like a fractal by repeating this inverted triangle at each column. On an Invariant of Tournament Digraphs

To date, it is unknown whether it is possible to construct a complete graph invariant in polynomial time, so fast algorithms for checking non-isomorphism are important, including heuristic algorithms, and for successful implementations of such heuristics, both the tasks of some modification of previously described graph invariants and the description of new invariants remain relevant. Many of the described invariants make it possible to distinguish a larger number of graphs in the real time of a computer program. In this paper, we propose an invariant for a special kind of directed graphs, namely, for tournaments. The last ones, from our point of view, are interesting because when fixing the order of vertices, the number of different tournaments is exactly equal to the number of undirected graphs, also with fixing the order of vertices. In the invariant we are considering, all possible tournaments consisting of a subset of vertices of a given digraph with the same set of arcs are iterated over. For such subset tournaments, the places are calculated in the usual way, which are summed up to obtain the final values of the points of the vertices;these points form the proposed invariant. As we expected, calculations of the new invariant showed that it does not coincide with the most natural invariant for tournaments, in which the number of points is calculated for each participant. So far, we have conducted a small number of computational experiments, and the minimum value of the pair correlation between the sequences representing these two invariants that we found is for dimension 15.

Evaluation of Generalized Error Function via Fast-Converging Power Series

A generalized form of the error function, Gp(x)=pΓ(1/p)∫0xe−tpdt, which is directly associated with the gamma function, is evaluated for arbitrary real values of p>1and 0x≤+∞by employing a fast-converging power series expansion developed in resolving the so-called Grandi’s paradox. Comparisons with accurate tabulated values for well-known cases such as the error function are presented using the expansions truncated at various orders.

A Comparative Study of the L2 Pragmatic Competence of University Students in Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland:The Contributions of Sociocultural Context and Linguistic Proficiency

This study investigates the differences in pragmatic competence between Hong Kong and Chinese mainland university *** included 19 native speakers of English,115 Chinese mainland students,divided into those who had spent time abroad in an English-speaking country(CM A)and those who had not(CM NA),and 97 Hong Kong students,divided into those from an English-medium secondary school(Hong Kong EMI)and those from a Chinese-medium school(Hong Kong CMI).Linguistic proficiency was measured by a C-test,and pragmatic competence by a Metapragmatic Knowledge Test,an Irony Test and a Monologic Role *** scores were compared using ANCOVAs to control for differences in *** results point to a continuum of pragmatic competence—EMI>CMI>CM A>CM NA—reflecting the groups’access to English in real-life *** differences between the Hong Kong groups and the Chinese mainland groups were clearest in those tests measuring processing capacity(i.e.,Irony Response Time and the Monologic Role Play).CM A,but not CM NA,performed as well as the Hong Kong groups on measures of metapragmatic *** results are discussed in terms of Bialystok’s(1993)distinction between analyzed representation and control of processing.

The User Analysis of Amazon Using Artificial Intelligence at Customer Churn

Customer churns remains a key focus in this research, using artificial intelligence-based technique of machine learning. Research is based on the feature-based analysis four main features were used that are selected on the basis of our customer churn to deduct the meaning full analysis of the data set. Data-set is taken from the Kaggle that is about the fine food review having more than half a million records in it. This research remains on feature based analysis that is further concluded using confusion matrix. In this research we are using confusion matrix to conclude the customer churn results. Such specific analysis helps e-commerce business for real time growth in their specific products focusing more sales and to analyze which product is getting outage. Moreover, after applying the techniques, Support Vector Machine and K-Nearest Neighbour perform better than the random forest in this particular scenario. Using confusion matrix for obtaining the results three things are obtained that are precision, recall and accuracy. The result explains feature-based analysis on fine food reviews, Amazon at customer churn Support Vector Machine performed better as in overall comparison.

MoBShield:A Novel XML Approach for Securing Mobile Banking
