Indonesian peatlands are a fragile ecosystem,and to protect it,growing Liberica coffee is a promising way for both the environment and the *** study aimed to evaluate the performance of the liberica coffee on peatland with different water tables and develop an improved cultivation system in this *** study area was in Tanjung Jabung Barat District,Jambi Province,*** plant age is greater than 15 years and the average plant density was about 1000 trees/*** study was conducted in two *** 1st stage was a survey to identify and characterize smallholder liberica coffee farming at three peatland zones,namely 0-100 m,200-300 m,and>400 m from the principal drainage canal,and the 2nd stage was a field experiment to test the effectiveness of amendments in improving liberica coffee growth and improving degraded *** treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design with four replications,including manure(M),at the rate of 10 t/hm^(2);lime(L),3 t/hm^(2);peat surface elevation(P),and a farmer’s practice(Control)without manure and/or lime as a *** research revealed that liberica coffee can not tolerate high water table as it may stimulate disease incidence and cause low-quality ***,recycling of organic C of about 17.14 t/(hm^(2)·a)through cherry residue application and litter compensated part of the loss of organic C through CO_(2)emissions,coffee bean removal,and maintaining peat fertility for sustainable *** low yield of(0.70±0.12)t/(hm^(2)∙a)coffee bean could be increased to(0.87±0.24)and(0.94±0.14)t/(hm^(2)∙a)by adding 3 t/(hm^(2)∙3a)of lime or 10 t/(hm^(2)∙a)of manure,*** research revealed that water table management and amendments are two main factors in liberica coffee farming on *** is of great significance to study the cultivation technology of coffee in peatland.

Straw return is a promising strategy for managing soil organic carbon(SOC)and improving yield ***,the optimal straw return strategy for sustainable crop production in the wheat(Triticum aestivum L.)-cotton(Gossypium hirsutum L.)cropping system remains *** objective of this study was to quantify the long-term(10 years)impact of carbon(C)input on SOC sequestration,soil aggregation and crop yields in a wheat-cotton cropping system in the Yangtze River Valley,*** treatments were arranged with a single-factor randomized design as follows:no straw return(Control),return of wheat straw only(Wt),return of cotton straw only(Ct),return of 50%wheat and 50%cotton straw(Wh-Ch)and return of 100%wheat and 100%cotton straw(Wt-Ct).In comparison to the Control,the SOC content increased by 8.4 to 20.2%under straw return.A significant linear positive correlation between SOC sequestration and C input(1.42-7.19 Mg ha^(−1)yr^(−1))(P2 and 1-2 mm at the 0-20 cm soil depth were also significantly elevated under straw return,with the greatest increase of the aggregate stability in the Wt-Ct treatment(28.1%).The average wheat yields increased by 12.4-36.0%and cotton yields increased by 29.4-73.7%,and significantly linear positive correlations were also detected between C input and the yields of wheat and *** average sustainable yield index(SYI)reached a maximum value of 0.69 when the C input was 7.08 Mg ha^(−1)yr^(−1),which was close to the maximum value(SYI of 0.69,C input of 7.19 Mg ha^(−1)yr^(-1))in the Wt-Ct ***,the return of both wheat and cotton straw was the best strategy for improving SOC sequestration,soil aggregation,yields and their sustainability in the wheat-cotton rotation system.

In this review,we focus on providing basics and examples for each component of the protein therapeutic specifications to interested pharmacists and biopharmaceutical scientists with a goal to strengthen understanding in regulatory science and *** specifications comprise a list of important quality attributes for testing,references to use for test procedures,and appropriate acceptance criteria for the tests,and they are set up to ensure that when a drug product is administered to a patient,its intended therapeutic benefits and safety can be rendered *** of drug substance or drug product to the specifications is achieved by testing an article according to the listed tests and analytical methods and obtaining test results that meet the acceptance *** attributes are chosen to be tested based on their quality risk,and consideration should be given to the merit of the analytical methods which are associated with the acceptance criteria of the *** criteria are set forth primarily based on efficacy and safety profiles,with an increasing attention noted for patient-centric *** in this work are related guidelines that support the biopharmaceutical specification setting,how to set the acceptance criteria,and examples of the quality attributes and the analytical methods from 60 articles and 23 pharmacopeial *** are also explored on process analytical technologies and other orthogonal tools which are on-trend in biopharmaceutical characterization and quality control.

Chondroitin sulfate (CS) is one of the main bioactive compounds in animal cartilage. In this study， the anti-inflammatory activity of sturgeon-derived chondroitin sulfate (SCS) was evaluated in the DSS-induced BALB/c mice model. Orally administration of SCS significantly alleviated the DSS-induced colitis symptoms， including the reduction of crypt depth， inhibition of the abnormal crypt foci formation， down-regulation of the proinflammatory biomarkers (NO， IL-6， IL-1β and TNF-α) and up-regulation of the anti-inflammatory biomarkers (IL-10 and IL-4). The gut microbiota analysis revealed that SCS alters the intestinal microbiota composition in colitis mice， especially the increase of the relative abundance of Ruminococcaceae and Lachnospiracea. This alternation further induced primary bile acids convert into secondary bile acids. With SCS administration， the levels of deoxycholic acid (DCA) and litho cholic acid (LCA) were increased by ～1.5 and ～2.5-fold， respectively. The stimulated secretion of DCA and LCA showed further activation of the NF-κB signaling pathway， thereby suppressing the inflammatory response and attenuating IBD in mice. This study provided a valuable strategy for colitis prevention and treatment with sturgeon cartilage by-products.

Bumblebees are important pollinators in agricultural ecosystems,but their abundance is declining *** is an urgent need to protect bumblebee health and their pollination *** possess specialized gut microbiota with potential to be used as probiotics to help defend at-risk bumblebee ***,evidence for probiotic benefits on bumblebees is ***,we evaluated how supplementation with Lactobacillus melliventris isolated from bumblebee gut affected the colony development of Bombus *** native strain colonized robustly and persisted long-term in bumblebees,leading to a significantly higher quality of ***,the tyrosine pathway was upregulated in the brain and fat body,while the Wnt and mTOR pathways of the gut were ***,the field experiment in the greenhouse revealed the supplementation of *** led to a 2.5-fold increase in the bumblebee survival rate and a more than 10%increase in the number of flowers visited,indicating a better health condition and pollination ability in field *** study represents a first screening for the potential use of the native gut member,***,as probiotic strains in hive supplement for bumblebee breeding,which may be a practical approach to improve immunity and hive health.

Golden-flower fungus,the only dominant microorganism determining the Fu-brick tea quality through fermentation and the important microbe in Liupao tea,is considered a potential probiotic fungus based on its anti-obesity ***,the classification of golden-flower fungi is still controversial;the anti-obesity effect of golden-flower fungus polysaccharides remains *** this study,we identify a golden-flower strain as Aspergillus cristatus based on morphological characteristics and multigene phylogeny analysis,which resolves the controversy of ***,we find *** polysaccharides(ACPS)attenuate obesity in *** modulate gut bacterial *** which Akkermansia,Akkermansia muciniphila,Bacteroides,Romboutsia,Blautia,and Desulfovibrio are considered the core microbes regulated by *** increase fecal total short-chain fatty acid content and serum,hepatic,and fecal total bile acid ***,ACPS-induced gut microbiota alteration plays a causal role in the protection from obesity,according to a fecal transplantation ***,ACPS ameliorate obesity by regulating gut microbiota and gut microbiota-related metabolites.

food allergy has become a global concern. Spleen tyrosine kinase (SYK) inhibitors are promising therapeutics against allergic disorders. In this study， a total of 300 natural phenolic compounds were firstly subjected to virtual screening. Sesamin and its metabolites， sesamin monocatechol (SC-1) and sesamin dicatechol (SC-2)， were identified as potential SYK inhibitors， showing high binding affinity and inhibition efficiency towards SYK. Compared with R406 (a traditional SYK inhibitor)， sesamin， SC-1， and SC-2 had lower binding energy and inhibition constant (Ki) during molecular docking， exhibited higher bioavailability， safety， metabolism/clearance rate， and distribution uniformity ADMET predictions， and showed high stability in occupying the ATP-binding pocket of SYK during molecular dynamics simulations. In anti-dinitrophenyl-immunoglobulin E (Anti-DNP-IgE)/dinitrophenyl-human serum albumin (DNP-HSA)-stimulated rat basophilic leukemia (RBL-2H3) cells， sesamin in the concentration range of (5 – 80) μmol/L influenced significantly the degranulation and cytokine release， with 54.00% inhibition against β-hexosaminidase release and 58.45% decrease in histamine. In BALB/c mice， sesamin could ameliorate Anti-DNP-IgE/DNP-HSA-induced passive cutaneous anaphylaxis and ovalbumin (OVA)-induced active systemic anaphylaxis reactions， reduce the levels of allergic mediators (immunoglobulins and pro-inflammatory cytokines)， partially correct the imbalance of T helper (Th) cells differentiation in the spleen， and inhibit the phosphorylation of SYK and its downstream signaling proteins， including p38 mitogen-activated protein kinases (p38 MAPK)， extracellular signal-regulated kinases (ERK)， and p65 nuclear factor-κB (p65 NF-κB) in the spleen. Thus， sesamin may be a safe and versatile SYK inhibitor that can alleviate IgE-mediated food allergies.
