The Quaternary strata on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau contain rich information about the paleoclimate and environmental evolution,record the evolution process of the Quaternary regional tectonics,paleogeography,and geomorphology of the plateau,and are extremely important areas for studying the Quaternary geological events and regional environmental *** to a comprehensive analysis of the regional stratigraphic data and the development and evolution characteristics of the biota,based on the differences in the lithostratigraphic units,sedimentary characteristics,landforms,and drainage systems,the Quaternary strata on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and its surrounding areas are divided into five stratigraphic regions:the Tarim region,Loess Plateau region,Qinghai-Tibet Plateau region,Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau region,and India-Ganges *** Qinghai-Tibet Plateau stratigraphic region is divided into seven stratigraphic sub-regions:the West Kunlun-Karakorum,AltunQilian Mountains,Qaidam-Hehuang,East Kunlun-Bayan Har,Qiangtang,East Xizang-West Yunnan-West Sichuan,and Gangdise-Himalayan *** paper briefly describes the lithostratigraphic units of the seven stratigraphic sub-regions of the Qinghai-Tibet *** to the lithostratigraphic sequence and its sedimentary characteristics,stratigraphic contact relationship,formation age,and evolution of the biota in each stratigraphic sub-region,the Quaternary tectonic paleogeographic evolution of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is divided into four stages.(1)The inherited differential uplift stage since the Pliocene(2.6-1.8/1.5 Ma):the regional sedimentary differences were significant,and the stratigraphic distribution was limited,the alluvial-proluvial sandy conglomerate was widely developed along the piedmont,and fluvial and lacustrine deposits were developed in the low-lying areas between the mountains.(2)The mountain range flattening stage(1.8/1.5-1.2/0.8 Ma):the erosion unconformity surfaces around the pl

Capturing and visualizing the phase transition mediated thermal stress of thermal barrier coating materials via a cross-scale integrated computational approach

The generation and evaluation of severely high thermal stress(σ)is known to be responsible for failure of thermal barrier coatings(TBCs)during thermal *** is crucial and challenging to capture fluctuations inσcaused by the phase transition,which has motivated us to develop a high-throughput multiscale evaluation method forσin TBCs that considers the phase transition of the top ceramic materials by coupling first-principles calculations with finite element *** method quantitatively evaluates and visualizesσof the real TBC structure under thermal cycling by multifield ***,the thermophysical properties calculated by the first-principles calculations consider the effects of temperature and phase transition,which not only reduces the cost of obtaining data but also has a more physical *** this work,rare earth tantalites(RETaO_(4))are introduced as ceramic layers,and the results demonstrate thatσundergoes a rapid escalation near the phase transition temperature(T_(t)),particularly in the TBCs_GdTaO_(4) system,where it rises from 224 to 435 *** discontinuity inσmay originate from the significant alterations in Young’s modulus(increase by 27%–78%)and thermal conductivity(increase by 53%–146%)near T_(t).The TBCs_NdTaO_(4) and TBCs_SmTaO_(4) systems exhibit noteworthy temperature drop gradients and minimalσfluctuations,which are beneficial for extending service lifetime of *** approach facilitates the prediction of failure mechanisms and provides theoretical guidance for the reverse design of TBC materials to obtain low thermal stress systems.

Highly enhanced thermoelectric and mechanical performance of copper sulfides via natural mineral in-situ phase separation

In situ phase separation precipitates play an important role in enhancing the thermoelectric properties of copper sulfides by suppressing phonon *** this study,Cu1.8S composites were fabricated by melting reactions and spark plasma *** complex structures,namely,micron-PbS,Sb_(2)S_(3),nano-FeS,and multiscale pores,originate from the introduction of FePb_(4)Sb_(6)S_(14)into the Cu1.8S *** effective element(Fe)doping and multiscale precipitates,the Cu_(1.8)S+0.5 wt%FePb_(4)Sb_(6)S_(14)bulk composite reached a high dimensionless figure of merit(ZT)value of 1.1 at 773 ***,the modulus obtained for this sample was approximately 40.27 GPa,which was higher than that of the pristine *** study provides a novel strategy for realizing heterovalent doping while forming various precipitates via in situ phase separation by natural minerals,which has been proven to be effective in improving the thermoelectric and mechanical performance of copper sulfides and is worth promoting in other thermoelectric systems.

Recovery of scandium from silicate minerals by high-pressure leaching in sulfuric acid

This study investigated the leaching of scandium from a Sc-bearing silicate *** Sc concentrate obtained by beneficiation pre-enrichment has 1.03×10^(−4) wt%Sc and 14.66 wt%*** main Sc-bearing minerals are limonite,chlorite,sericite,and hornblende,in the form of ***-pressure leaching(HPL)with sulfuric acid(98 wt%)and NaF was used to dispose this *** Sc leaching efficiency of 91.82%was obtained under the optimum conditions,which are pressure of 5.0×10^(5) Pa,A/O value of 1.1,L/S value of 1.8,NaF dosage of 2 wt%,at 130℃ for 6 *** X-ray diffraction(XRD)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)results show that the residue is mainly quartz phase in the multihole *** with ordinary leaching for silicate,high-pressure leaching has significant advantages in saving acid and energy consumption.

Periodic event-triggered secure consensus for networked mechanical systems under Denial-of-Service attacks

This paper concentrates on the secure consensus problem of networked mechanical/Euler–Lagrange ***,a new periodic event-triggered(PET)secure distributed observer is proposed to estimate the leader *** proposed distributed observer only relies on the PET data from its neighbors,which can significantly reduce the communication and computational *** importantly,it is secure in the sense that it can work normally regardless of the Denial-of-Service(DoS)***,based on the proposed distributed observer,an adaptive fuzzy control law is proposed for each Euler–Lagrange system.A PET mechanism is integrated into the controller,which can reduce the control *** is helpful for both energy saving and fault tolerance of ***,the PET mechanism naturally makes the controller easy to be implemented in digital *** property of fuzzy logic systems and Gronwall inequality are skillfully utilized to show the stability of the closed-loop ***,the proposed control scheme is verified on real Euler–Lagrange systems,which contain a robot manipulator and several servo motors.

Surface wave inversion with unknown number of soil layers based on a hybrid learning procedure of deep learning and genetic algorithm

Surface wave inversion is a key step in the application of surface waves to soil velocity ***,a common practice for the process of inversion is that the number of soil layers is assumed to be known before using heuristic search algorithms to compute the shear wave velocity profile or the number of soil layers is considered as an optimization ***,an improper selection of the number of layers may lead to an incorrect shear wave velocity *** this study,a deep learning and genetic algorithm hybrid learning procedure is proposed to perform the surface wave inversion without the need to assume the number of soil ***,a deep neural network is adapted to learn from a large number of synthetic dispersion curves for inferring the layer ***,the shear-wave velocity profile is determined by a genetic algorithm with the known layer *** applying this procedure to both simulated and real-world cases,the results indicate that the proposed method is reliable and efficient for surface wave inversion.

Effect of Sc on Al_(3)Fe phase and mechanical properties of as-cast AA5052 aluminum alloy

The AA5052 aluminum alloy is widely used in automobile and aerospace manufacturing,and with the development of light-weight alloys,it is required that these materials exhibit better mechanical *** studies have demonstrated that the addition of Sc to aluminum alloys can improve both the microstructure and properties of the *** this study,the effect of Sc on the Fe-rich phase and properties of the AA5052 aluminum alloy was studied by adding 0%,0.05%,0.2%,and 0.3%*** results show that with the increase of Sc,the coarse needle-like Fe-rich phase gradually transforms into Chinese-script and then nearly spherical particles,reduce the size of Fe-rich phase,and refine the grain with increase of high angle grain boundaries(HAGBs).These microstructure changes enhance the strength of the AA5052 alloy through Sc *** ductility of the alloy is obviously improved because the addition of a lower amount of Sc changes the morphology of Fe-rich phase from needle-like into a Chinese-script,and it is subsequently reduced as a result of significant increase in HAGBs with increasing Sc content.

VMMAO-YOLO:an ultra-lightweight and scale-aware detector for real-time defect detection of avionics thermistor wire solder joints

The quality of the exposed avionics solder joints has a significant impact on the stable operation of the inorbit ***,the previously reported inspection methods for multi-scale solder joint defects generally suffer low accuracy and slow detection ***,a novel real-time detector VMMAO-YOLO is demonstrated based on variable multi-scale concurrency and multi-depth aggregation network(VMMANet)backbone and“one-stop”global information gather-distribute(OS-GD)*** with infrared thermography technology,it can achieve fast and high-precision detection of both internal and external solder joint ***,VMMANet is designed for efficient multi-scale feature extraction,which mainly comprises variable multi-scale feature concurrency(VMC)and multi-depth feature aggregation-alignment(MAA)*** can extract multi-scale features via multiple fix-sized and deformable convolutions,while MAA can aggregate and align multi-depth features on the same order for feature *** allows the low-level features with more spatial details to be transmitted in depth-wise,enabling the deeper network to selectively utilize the preceding inference *** VMMANet replaces inefficient highdensity deep convolution by increasing the width of intermediate feature levels,leading to a salient decline in *** OS-GD is developed for efficacious feature extraction,aggregation and distribution,further enhancing the global information gather and deployment capability of the *** a self-made solder joint image data set,the VMMAOYOLO achieves a mean average precision mAP@0.5 of 91.6%,surpassing all the mainstream YOLO-series ***,the VMMAO-YOLO has a body size of merely 19.3 MB and a detection speed up to 119 frame per second,far superior to the prevalent YOLO-series detectors.

Astronomical forcing and sedimentary noise modeling of lake-level changes in the Middle Eocene Chezhen Sag,Bohai Bay Basin,eastern china

The accurate determination of geological age is a key to understanding the history and process of paleolake evolution and oil and gas exploration in continental lake ***,improving the accuracy of geological age has always been a difficult scientific problem.A 609-m-thick,continuous lacustrine mudstone and sandstone succession in Chezhen Sag(eastern china)provides an ideal middle Eocene sedimentary record for establishing a high-resolution stratigraphic chronology *** on spectrum analysis and sliding window spectrum analysis of the natural gamma(GR)logging data of well Che 271(C271)in Chezhen Sag,the periods of 405 kyr and 40.1 kyr were filtered by a Gaussian bandpass filter,and a“floating”astrochronological time scale(ATS)was *** total number of 405 kyr eccentricity cycles were 13.6 and 40.1 kyr obliquity cycles were 138 which recorded from the upper member 4(Es4U)to the member 3(Es3)of the Eocene Shahejie Formation,and the depositional duration was 5.53 *** Coefficient(COCO)analysis and evolutionary Correlation Coefficient(eCoCo)analysis found that the optimal sedimentary rate of different *** noise simulation revealed the history of paleolake water changes in the Middle Eocene in the Chezhen Sag,according to which four sequences are *** study shows that the lake level change of Chezhen Sag in the middle Eocene shows prominent 1.2 Myr cycles and an antiphase well-coupled relationship with obliquity ***,we propose a model to explain the relationship between the orbital cycle and lake level change in the continental lake *** the obliquity of the earth increases,the middle and high latitudes of the earth will be closer to the sun,the direct sunlight will be higher,and the meridional sunshine will increase,thus accelerating the evaporation process of lake basin *** the seasonal changes are obvious(maximum period of 1.2 Myr ultra-long obliquity),this effect is more signific

A Bio-inspired Mutual-hook Strategy for the Soft Finger to Improve Load-bearing Capacity and Grasping Stability

Soft grippers have great potential applications in daily life,since they can compliantly grasp soft and delicate ***,the highly elastic fingers of most soft grippers are prone to separate from each other while grasping objects due to their low stiffness,thus reducing the grasping stability and load-bearing *** tackle this problem,inspired from the venus flytrap plant,this work proposes a mutual-hook mechanism to restrain the separation and improve the grasping performance of soft *** novel soft gripper design consists of three modules,a soft finger-cot,two Soft Hook Actuators(SHAs)and two sliding ***,the soft finger-cot covers on the soft finger,increasing the contact area with the target object,two SHAs are fixed to the left and right sides of the finger-cot,and the sliding mechanisms are designed to make SHAs stretch *** demonstrate that the proposed design can restrain the separation of soft fingers substantially,and the soft fingers with the finger-cots can grasp objects three times heavier than the soft fingers without the proposed *** proposed design can provide invaluable insights for soft fingers to restrain the separation while grasping,thus improving the grasping stability and the load-bearing capacity.
