Can Physical Activities Suppress Negative Impact of Stress on the Mental Health of Adolescents?

Early adolescence is a crucial developmental phase marked by significant physical,cognitive,and socioemotional *** stress is widely recognized as a notable risk factor during this period,not all individuals experiencing stress concurrently manifest compromised mental *** association between stress and mental health outcomes is influenced by individual differences in characteristics and coping *** study’s purpose was to assess the negative impact of stress on mental health,specifically focusing on symptoms of anxiety,depression,and psychological ***,the research investigates whether different levels of physical activity can suppress the negative effects of stress.A total of 212 upper elementary school students(52.8%girls and 47.2%boys)from rural and urban areas voluntarily participated in the *** online self-assessed on several measures:The Young Person’s CORE,Children’s Anxiety Scale,Children’s Depression Inventory,School Stress Intensity Scale for Students,and Physical Activity Questionnaire for Older *** results revealed a significant increase in adolescents experiencing impaired mental *** than two-thirds(67.5%)of students self-assessed significant symptoms of depression,additionally,57.5%of them had significant symptoms of psychological distress,and 27.8%had significant symptoms of *** demonstrated a significant direct negative effect,leading to increased symptoms of anxiety(t=5.35,p=0.00)and psychological distress(t=4.29,p=0.00);however,there was no significant influence on depression(t=1.33,p=0.18)).Regarding regular physical activity,a significant moderating effect was identified,effectively suppressing the negative impact of stress on anxiety(F=3.88(2,206);p=0.02).In contrast,no significant moderation effect of physical activity was found for symptoms of depression(F=1.45(2,206);p=0.24)and psychological distress(F=1.14(2,206);p=0.32),highlighting a complex and intric

The propagation of plane longitudinal waves at an interface of a semi-infinite piezoelectric elastic medim under the influence of the initial stresses is discussed. The free surface of the piezoelectric elastic medim is considered to be adjacent to *** assumed that the piezoelectric material is anisotropic of a type of a transversely isotropic crystal (hexagonal crystal structure,class 6mm).For an incident of longitudinal plane wave,two types of reflected plane waves,called quasilongitudinal(qP) and quasi-shear vertical(qSV) waves are shown to *** relations governing the reflection coefficients of these reflected waves for various boundary conditions(mixed-free-fixed) are *** has shown analytically that reflected coefficients of(qP) and (qSV) waves depend upon the angle of incidence,the parameters of electric potential,the material constants of the medium as will as the initial stresses presented in the *** numerical of reflection amplitude ratios for different values of initial stresses have been carried out by computer for PZTH Ceramics as an example and the results are given in the form of *** graphs show the prominent effect of the prestressing,the parameters of electric potential and the angle of incidence as well on the reflection ***,two particular cases are considered in the absence of the initial stresses and/or the electric *** earlier studies have been compared to those two special cases and are in good agreement with them. Effect of initial stress on dispersion relation for transverse surface waves circulating around a piezoelectric cylinder covered with a perfectly conducting layer is *** overlay materials are considered:namely,Gold and *** piezoelectric substrate is considered to have the symmetry of a hexagonal crystal,and the layer is a perfectly *** dispersion equation has been derived for the two overlays materials in the form of determinant involving Bessel *** roots of the dispersion equation give the values of the characteristic circular frequency parameters of the first three modes for various *** roots are numerically calculated by"Bisection method iterations technique"and presented graphically for various thickness of the overlayer and for different values of the initial *** effect of the initial stress on the natural frequencies is illustrated on the *** is found that both the thickness of the overlayer and the initial stress have a substantial effect on the dispersion ***,it is seen that dispersion relation for a PZT-4 core covered by A Gold is much smaller than of the Aluminum *** results obtained in this paper not only may help us insight into the electro-mechanical coupling behavior of the piezoelectric composites cylinders,but also can offer theoretical basis and meaningful suggestion for the design of piezoelectric probes and electro-acoustic devices in the nondestructive evaluation ***,the results are compared graphically when the overlay is Gold or Aluminum and with those do not have initial stress and electric field which have been studied in the classical cases.

Purpose:To examine the effects of a school-based karate intervention on academic achievement,psychosocial functioning,and physical fitness in children aged 7-8 ***:Twenty schools in 5 different European countries(2 second-grade classrooms per school)participated in a cluster randomized controlled trial(Sport at School trial).Participants were assigned to either a control group,which continued with their habitual physical education lessons,or to an intervention group,which replaced these lessons with a 1-year karate intervention(Karate Mind and Movement program).A total of 721 children(344 girls and 377 boys,7.4±0.5 years old,mean±SD)completed the study,of which 333 and 388 were assigned to the control group and intervention group,*** included academic performance(average grade),psychosocial functioning(Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire for parents),and different markers of physical fitness(cardiorespiratory fitness,balance,and flexibility).Results:The intervention provided small but significant benefits compared to the control group for academic achievement(d=0.16;p=0.003),conduct problems(d=-0.28;p=0.003),cardiorespiratory fitness(d=0.36;p0.05).Conclusion:A 1-year school-based karate intervention was effective in improving academic achievement,conduct problems,and physical fitness in primary school *** results support the inclusion of karate during physical education lessons.

Synthesis of some new fused coumarin derivatives

2-Hydrazino-4-hydroxy-5H-[1]-benzopyrano-[4,3-d]-pyrimidin-5-one (3) was prepared via condensation of 2 with hydrazine hydrate. Treatment of 3 with methylene chloride, ethyl chloroformate, ethyl chloroacetate and benzaldehyde yielded the corresponding 2 - ( substituted ) hydrazino - 4 -hydro-xy-5H-[1]-benzopyrano-[4,3-d]-pyrimidin-5-one (4, 5, 6, and 10), followed by cyclization of 4, 5 and 6 with dimethyl formamide and fused sodium acetate under reflux, while compound 10 was cyclized with bromine and sodium acetate in acetic acid. Compound 3 reacted with β-(toloyl) acrylic acid, ethyl α-cyano-p-methoxycinnamate, diethyl malonate and acetyl chloride affording the corresponding 2-(substituted) hydrazino-4-hydroxy-5H-[1]-benzopyrano-[4,3-d]-pyrimidin-5-one (12, 13, 14, 15 and 16).

Novel 3-substituted pyridothienopyrimidine derivatives have been synthesized via the reaction of 2-{7,9-dimethyl-4-oxopyrido[3′,2′：4,5]thieno[3,2-d]pyrimidin-3（4H）-yl}acetohydrazide（5） with a variety of activereagents and chemicals. Structures of the newly synthesized compounds were established based on spectral *** resulting pyridothienopyrimidine derivatives were evaluated for their possible antimicrobial activity and some ofthem represent a new class of potentially antimicrobial compounds, especially compounds 9 and 18 which displayedthe highest activity against Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, and Fungi in MIC range of 0.12--1.95 μg/mL.

Grape Seed Extract (<i>Vitisvinifera</i>) Alleviate Neurotoxicity and Hepatotoxicity Induced by Lead Acetate in Male Albino Rats

Grape seed extracts (GSE) are very potent antioxidant and exhibit numerous interesting pharmacologic activities, including an antioxidant property, and has been suggested to be of use in treatment of several diseases. The present study has been undertaken to investigate the protective and therapeutic effect of GSE against lead-induced neuro and hepatotoxicity in rat. Male albino rats were divided into six groups: the 1st group, rats were injected daily with saline vehicle and served as negative control, the 2nd group (positive control group), the rats were injected (i.p.) with subacute dose (100 mg/kg b·w/day) of lead acetate (LA). The 3rd group (protective group), the rats were injected (i.p.) with LA (100 mg/kg b·w/day) for 7 days after treatment with GSE (100 mg/kg b·w/day) for 3 weeks. The 4th, 5th and 6th groups (therapeutics groups), rats were injected (i.p.) with subacut dose (100 mg/kg b·w/day) of lead acetate for 7 days, then treated with GSE (100 mg/kg b·w/day) for one, two and three weeks, respectively. The level of norepinephrine (NE), dopamine (DA), serotonin (5-HT) and 5-hydroxyindol acetic acid (5-HIAA) were evaluated in brain regions (cerebellum, brainstem, striatum, cerebral cortex, hypothalamus and hippocampus). The result indicated that the administration of subacute dose of LA (100 mg/kg/day, i.p.) induce a significant decrease in NE, DA, 5-HT and 5-HIAA content in all tested brain regions. Also the obtained data showed significant increase in liver enzymes: serum glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase (GOT), serum glutamate pyruvate transaminase (GPT) and Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) level in group 2 (positive control). There is an improvement in neurotransmitters content. Also the obtained data showed significant in- crease in liver enzymes of protective (G3) and therapeutics groups (G4, G5 and G6) which received GSE compared with animal group that received lead acetate (G2). New Approach to Modeling a Solar Cell in Relation to Its Efficiency—Laplace Transform Technique

Heating a solar cell subjected to incident solar irradiance is studied. Laplace Integral Transform technique is applied to get the temperature field within the cell. The efficiency as a function of the cell temperature is estimated, and its variation with the local day time is thus clarified. Different cooling levels are considered. An illustrative example is given. The results show that the diurnal temperature variation of the cell is significant, while the efficiency is revealed to be a slowly varying function of temperature along the day time. It is revealed that as the temperature of the cell increases the efficiency decreases. Thus shading and cooling conditions may be useful to increase its efficiency.
