Despite the global attention towards pollution,it remains a significant global threat and challenge for both developed and developing *** and economic development influence different types of *** pollution is considered a new phenomenon referring to the impact of existing and growing mainstream pollution which impairs an individual’s ability to enjoy visits or ***,Jordanian cities have expanded in response to urbanization and ongoing *** City has the second largest population in Jordan after the capital Amman City highest population density in *** the modern era,Irbid City dramatically increased in population and *** growth of the demographic population has been significant and has led to overpopulation,rapid urbanization,and unresolved problems associated with spatial planning and infrastructures leading to different types of pollution including visual *** study area focuses on the city center with the most crowded population through field visits and actual *** study technique is descriptive and analytical,with a focus on meticulous monitoring and a follow-up-based questionnaire which is a tool for the study,involving data collection,classification,presentation,analysis,interpretation,and exploration to identify new facts and generalizations that can help solve current issues of visual *** study provides recommendations for Irbid Municipal to eliminate visual pollution,in parallel with stricter supervision from the municipality during the building process to ensure proper implementation of the new rules,adopting an integrated policy for the city with the rest of the social,political,sensory,cultural,economic,and functional aspects,so that this policy is in the short and long term.

Insight into the particle shape on the impact of dry granular flow against a rigid barrier: A DEM study

The effect of particle shape on the impact of dry granular flow remains an open area for further investigation. Five distinct particle shapes were examined in this study using discrete element simulations after calibrating the numerical model using a published work. The findings indicated that the particle shape had a significant influence on granular mobility. With negligible variations in normalized kinetic energy between particles of different shapes， the effect of particle shape on the increasing rate of kinetic energy became more obvious. All irregular particle scenarios had longer accumulated particle lengths down the channel than spherical particles. Variations in particle shape led to adjustments in the distribution of impact forces on the barrier. These findings substantially enhance our understanding of the distinctive effects of particle shapes on the impact mechanism of dry granular flow.

Multi-identity planning process in a studio course： Integrative planning in multiidentity environments

The ptanning process in a planning studio demonstrates a microcosm of diverse concepts of ideotogies and identities seeking acknowtedgment and spatial recognition. In the modern world of muitipte and dynamic identities and ideologies, aspiring for the self-recognition of regions, towns, and communities, a place-based identity has become a core aspect that needs to be taken into planning consideration. The anatytic planning method used is iterative of both topdown and bottom-up approaches, thereby creating multi-dimension and coherent planning atternatives where spatial sotutions arise from communities along their changing processes. We present two spatiat atternative plans that were developed in the studio course and are based on this fine of thinking. Resutts were very dynamic aspiring complex plans, which are also highty appticable and flexible, thereby addressing a wide range of ideotogies and identities.

With the advent of on-site robotic tools,they can be deployed for editing landscapes e defined as the modulation of grounds with a high degree of sensitivity to matter and *** paper contributes a theoretical grounding and two experimental frameworks for territorial-based robotic *** experimental framework supports a robotic capacity for informing and forming grounds,demonstrated in relation to extreme territories using simulation *** frameworks include(1)a layer-sensitive modulation for protecting topsoil and(2)a performance-based robotic forming for creating wind *** each framework,the paper proposes a setup,an exploration method,and an evaluation *** on the presented frameworks,the paper outlines three potentials of territorialbased robotic fabrication:the capability to modulate grounds vertically,the possibility to perform cross-scalar forming,and the opportunity to form dynamic,performative *** paper concludes with potential ways in which robotic tools could be leveraged for advancing precise landscape editing across scales.

A clean environment with low carbon emissions is the goal of research on the development of green and sustainable buildings that use bio-sourced materials in conjunction with solar energy to create more sustainable *** is particularly true in Africa,where there aren’t many studies on the *** current study suggests a 90 m^(2) model of a sustainable building in a dry climate that is movable to address the issue of housing in remote areas,ensures comfort in harsh weather conditions,uses solar renewable resources—which are plentiful in Africa—uses biosourced materials,and examines how these materials relate to temperature and humidity control while emitting minimal carbon *** order to solve the topic under consideration,the work is split into two sections:numerical and experimental *** TRNSYS and Revit,the suggested prototype building is examined numerically to examine the impact of orientation,envelope composition made of bio-sourced materials,and carbon *** a hygrothermal investigation,experiments are conducted to evaluate this prototype’s ***,an examination of the photovoltaic system’s production,consumption,and several scenarios used tomaximize battery life is included in the *** the biosourcedmaterial achieves a thermal transmittance of 0.15(W.m^(-2).K^(-1)),the results demonstrate an intriguing finding in terms of *** value satisfies the requirements of passive building,energy autonomy of the dwelling,and injection in-network with an annual value of 15,757 ***,compared to the literature,the heating needs ratio is 6.38(kWh/m^(2).an)and the cooling needs ratio is 49(kWh/m^(2).an),both of which are good *** to international norms,the inside temperature doesn’t go above 26℃,and the humidity level is within a comfortable range.

LEED-CI V3 AND V4 GOLD PROJECTS FOR OFFICE SPACES:THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SHANGHAI AND CALIFORNIA

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design(LEED)rating system is cur-rently progressing from version 3(V3)to 4(V4)with the aim of reducing environ-mental damage in the global construction *** LEED Commercial Interiors(LEED-CI)subsystem is widely used for office spaces,particularly in Shanghai and *** Shanghai and California in terms of LEED-CI projects can shed light on the ability of the LEED-CI subsystem to adapt to local green building standards and local environmental *** aim of this study was to assess the difference between V3 and V4 LEED-CI Gold office projects using a comparison between Shanghai and *** US Green Building Council and the Green Building Information Gateway databases were used to source LEED-CI V3 and V4 Gold office *** natural logarithm of the odds ratio and Fisher’s exact 2×2 tests with a mid p-value were used to evaluate the binary data,while the Cliff’sδand exact Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney tests were used to evaluate the ordinal *** results show no difference between Shanghai and California in terms of LEED-CI V3 Gold office projects in the five main LEED-CI *** shift from V3 to V4 LEED-CI Gold office projects is increasing the difference between Shanghai and California in terms of the following LEED-CI categories:location and transporta-tion,water efficiency,energy and atmosphere,and materials and ***,as compared to V3,V4 for LEED-CI Gold office projects demonstrated greater adaptability to local green building standards and environmental conditions.

Improving the structural efficiency of textured threedimensional concrete printing wall by architectural design

Three-dimensional concrete printing(3DCP)technology begins to be adopted into construction application *** studies have focused on producing a higher concrete quality and offering a user-friendly construction ***,the 3DCP construction cost is unlikely to be lower than that of conventional construction,which is especially important for projects where the cost is *** broaden the 3DCP construction applications,reduction of the quantity of 3DCP material usage is *** work aims to perform structural analysis of several patterns of geometric textured 3DCP shell wall structures.21 different cantilevered textured patterns of 3DCP shell wall structures were architecturally designed and then subjected to structural analysis by a finite element method(FEM).The results indicated that by designing appropriate patterns,the structural performance to weight ratio could be improved up to 300%.The study therefore offers an innovative design process for constructing 3DCP housing and suggests preconstruction analysis methods for 3DCP shell wall structures.

Design and science:Content analysis of published peer-reviewed research over the last four decades

The relationship between design and science in architecture continually receives attention from scholars,but to our knowledge,no substantial and systematic literature reviews have been undertaken to generate insights into how the relationship between the two has developed in recent *** most of the related debate remains theoretical,this paper presents evidence acquired through content analysis of selected 782 peer-reviewed papers published in the last four decades,a period in which design requirements continue to grow in complexity and research efforts increasingly concentrate on design *** response,this study departs from the two keywords,architectural science and building science,and develops search strings to support examination of the relationship between science and architectural design since the 1980s,when research that addresses the building environment started to *** analysis employs tools based on machine learning algorithms for text analytics in combination with traditional content analysis *** presented research method is fully replicable and stands as one of the contributions of this *** findings capture the expansion of the research context concerned with the built environment through a careful selection of defining terms,and generate an informed discussion on how the role of science in the architectural design process has changed.
