The infrastructure of East Lake has undergone a gradual process of degeneration,necessitating the allocation of adequate financial resources to ensure the preservation and sustenance of its ecological ***,insufficient funds for conservation and management pose a problem for the management of Urban East ***,the research aimed to(1)identify the local visitor’s satisfaction level with East Lake’s facilities and environmental quality;(2)determine the visitors’perception of the conservation and management aspect of East Lake;(3)identify factors influencing local visitors’willingness to pay an entrance fee to East Lake,and(4)estimate an appropriate entrance fee for East *** the Contingent Valuation Method,visitors'willingness to pay was *** accumulation of 449 samples was based on convenience *** results indicated that visitor satisfaction and attitude were both *** addition,respondents had a good perception on East ***,income,and education level were factors that substantially affected visitors’willingness to pay;however,only the visitor variable had a positive *** estimated entrance fee was 2 USD per individual per *** research’s findings provided significant policy and recommendations;they would serve as a baseline for the management to impose an entrance fee in East Lake.

Dibromoethane is a widespread,persistent organic *** are known mediators of reductive dehalogenation by layered Fe^(Ⅱ)-Fe^(Ⅲ)hydroxides(green rust),which can reduce 1,2-dibromoethane to innocuous bromide and ***,the critical characteristics that determine mediator functionality are lesser *** biochar substrates were pyrolyzed at 600℃and 800℃,characterized by elemental analysis,X-ray photo spectrometry C and N surface speciation,X-ray powder diffraction,specific surface area analysis,and tested for mediation of reductive debromination of 1,2-dibromoethane by a green rust reductant under anoxic conditions.A statistical analysis was performed to determine the biochar properties,critical for debromination kinetics and total debromination *** was shown that selected plant based biochars can mediate debromination of 1,2-dibromoethane,that the highest first order rate constant was 0.082/hr,and the highest debromination extent was 27%in reactivity experiments with 0.1μmol(20μmol/L)1,2-dibromoethane,≈22 mmol/L Fe^(Ⅱ)GR,and 0.12 g/L soybean meal biochar(7 days).Contents of Ni,Zn,N,and P,and the relative contribution of quinone surface functional groups were significantly(p<0.05)positively correlated with 1,2-dibromoethane debromination,while adsorption,specific surface area,and the relative contribution of pyridinic N oxide surface groups were significantly negatively correlated with debromination.

A hydrogen energy storage system(HESS)is one of the many risingmodern green innovations,using excess energy to generate hydrogen and storing it for various *** that,there have been many discussions about commercializing HESS and improving it ***,the design and sizing process can be overwhelming to comprehend with various sources to examine,and understanding optimal design methodologies is crucial to optimize a HESS *** that,this review aims to collect and analyse a wide range of HESS studies to summarise recent *** different collections of studies are studied,one was sourced by the main author for preliminary readings,and another was obtained via *** findings from the Web of Science platform were also examined for amore comprehensive *** findings include the People’sRepublic of China has been active in HESS research,as most works and active organizations originate from this *** has been mainly researched to support power generation and balance load demands,with financial analysis being the common scope of *** is a common tool used for HESS design,modelling,and optimization as it can handle complex *** neural network(ANN)has the potential to be used to model the HESS,but additional review is required as a formof future *** a commercialization perspective,pressurized hydrogen tanks are ideal for hydrogen storage in a HESS,but other methods can be considered after additional research and *** this review,it can be implied that modelling works will be the way forward for HESS research,but extensive collaborations and additional review are ***,this review summarized various takeaways that future research works on HESS can use.

Diversity and Morphometrics of Palm Weevils of the Genus Rhynchophorus in Maniema Province, Democratic Republic of Congo

An inventory of Rhynchophorus species was carried out to determine their diversity, biogeographical variability and morphometrics. A shotgun trapping method was used at nine sites in three districts over a four-month period, identifying three species: R. quadrangulus, R. phoenicis, R. ferrugineus and a probable variant of R. phoenicis. Of these species, R. phoenicis stands out as the most widespread palm weevil, while the probable variant of R. phoenicis is considered the rarest subspecies in the Maniema region. The color of the head and elytra is a criterion for distinguishing the different species of Rhynchophorus spp. Morphological criteria indicate that the probable subspecies of R. phoenicis is the largest palm weevil in the Maniema region and even globally. It is followed by R. quadrangulus and, by far, by R. phoenicis. The smallest palm weevil in Maniema is R. ferrugineus. Moreover, these criteria reveal that, for all three species identified, the female is generally larger than the male. This study has the merit of extending the distribution of R. ferrugineus from the Maghreb to the central East of the DRC, and highlighting a subspecies of R. phoenicis. Recognition of the sexes on the basis of the shape of the tip of the abdomen (oval in the male and flat in the female) is an additional contribution.

Konjac is an ideal candidate for edible coatings on fruits due to its hydrophilic properties,ﬁlm-forming ability,barrier properties,safety,and ***,the high market demand for strawberries necessitates post-harvest treatment to extend their shelf life and preserve their quality,as strawberries are known for their fragile skin and soft *** fully utilize konjac and develop high-quality coatingﬁlms,native konjacﬂour(NKF)and konjac glucomannan(KGM)were extracted from its corm and used as a coatingﬁlm for strawberries in the present ***,this study aimed to compare the physical properties of theﬁlm coatings between NKF and KGM,and evaluate their effects on strawberries preservation over 7 days of storage.A multistage extrac-tion process was employed to isolate NKF and KGM,after which the glucomannan content was *** yield was 31.81%,exceeding KGM yield of 26.42%,and the glucomannan content obtained of NKF(25.93%)was higher than KGM(21.41%).Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy conﬁrmed that both NKF and KGM con-tain glucomannan in their ***,both NKF and KGM were combined with carboxymethyl cel-lulose(CMC)and glycerol to produce eight thin-layerﬁlms to assess their physical and mechanical *** to the KGM variant,the NKF variant generally exhibited higher moisture content,water vapor trans-mission rate,and tensile ***,NKF was less effective than KGM in extending strawberry storage life,leading to faster color changes and greater weight loss,despite maintaining similar hardness ***,konjac-based coatings were generally effective at maintaining the freshness and quality of strawberries compared to uncoated *** shows promise as an edible coating,improving fresh produce shelf life and appeal,aligning with consumer preferences for natural and sustainable products.

The mutualistic symbiotic system formed by clumping arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF)and plants can remediate heavy metal-contaminated ***,the specific mechanisms underlying the interaction between AMF and inter-root microbial communities,particularly their impact on organic phosphorus(P)cycling,remain *** study investigated the gene regulation processes involved in inter-root soil phosphorus cycling in wetland plants,specifically Iris tectorum,following inoculation with AMF under varying concentrations of chromium(Cr)*** macro-genome sequencing,we analyzed the composition and structure of the inter-root soil microbial community associated with Iris tectorum under greenhouse pot *** results demonstrated significant changes in the diversity and composition of the inter-root soil microbial community following AMF inoculation,with Proteobacteria,Actinobacteria,Chloroflexi,Acidobacteria,and Bacteroidetes being the dominant *** Cr stress,species and gene co-occurrence network analysis revealed that AMF promoted the transformation process of organic phosphorus mineralization and facilitated inorganic phosphorus ***,network analysis of functional genes indicated strong aggregation of(pstS,pstA,pstC,***,phoR,pp-gppA)genes,which collectively enhanced phosphorus uptake by *** findings shed light on the inter-root soil phosphorus cycling process during the co-remediation of Cr-contaminated soil by AMF-Iris tectorum symbiosis,providing valuable theoretical support for the application of AMF-wetland plant symbiosis systems to remediate heavy metal-contaminated soil.
