Integrated Rock Typing of the Grainstone Facies in a Sequence Framework：a Case from the Jurassic Arab Formation in the Persian Gulf

The late Jurassic Arab Formation, a significant carbonate-evaporite reservoir rock in the Persian Gulf, is characterized by frequent grainstone facies. For rock type identification and reservoir characterization, core description, petrographic studies and pore system evaluation are integrated for Balal oil field in the Persian Gulf. The grainstone facies are developed into three shoal subenvironments on a carbonate ramp platform： leeward, central and seaward. Compaction, dissolution, cementation, anhydrite mineralization and dolomitization are the main diagenetic processes affecting the depositional pore system. Considering depositional and diagenetic features and pore types, the grainstones are classified into six rock types （RT 1 to RT6）. Rock types 1, 2 and 5 have large pore throat sizes with inter- granular and touching vug pore types. In rock type 3, moldic pores lead to high porosity and low permeability. Rock types 4 and 6 are cemented by anhydrite, calcite and dolomite. Generally, RTs 1, 2, 3 and 5 are related to late Transgressive systems tract （TST） and early Highstand systems tracts （HST） and show fair to good reservoir quality. In contrast, RTs 4 and 6 of late HST system tract show lower poroperm values, due to evaporite mineralization. Characterization of the grainstone facies provides a comprehensive understanding of the reservoir zones of the Arab Formation.

Sugar palm(Arenga pinnata)starch is considered an important renewable,biodegradable,and eco-friendly polymer,which is derived from agricultural by-products and residues,with great potential for the development of biocomposite *** research was aimed at investigating the development of TPS biocomposites from *** palm starch using an extrusion *** starch,glycerol,and stearic acid were extruded in a twin-screw *** electron microscopy(SEM)analysis of TPS showed that the starch granules were damaged and gelatinized in the extrusion *** density of TPS was 1.3695 g/mL,lower than that of palm starch,and the addition of stearic acid resulted in increased TPS density.X-ray diffraction(XRD)results showed that palm starch had a C-type pattern crystalline *** tensile strength,elongation at break,and modulus of elasticity of TPS were 7.19 MPa,33.95%,and 0.56 GPa,*** addition of stearic acid reduced the tensile strength,elongation at break and modulus of elasticity of *** rheological properties,i.e.,melt flow rate(MFR)and viscosity of TPS,were 7.13 g/10 min and 2482.19 Pa.s,*** presence of stearic acid in TPS resulted in increased MFR and decreased viscosity *** peak gelatinization temperature of *** palm starch was 70°C,while Tg of TPS was 65°*** addition of stearic acid reduced the Tg of *** thermogravimetric analysis(TGA)analysis showed that the addition of glycerol and stearic acid decreased the thermal stability,but extended the temperature range of thermal *** derived from *** palm starch by extrusion method has the potential to be applied in industrial practice as a promising raw material for manufacturing bio-based packaging as a sustainable and green alternative to petroleum-based plastics.

Theoretical Study of the Multiferroic Behavior of the Magnetic Relaxor Ferroelectric CdCr<sub>2</sub>S<sub>4</sub>

Using a microscopic model and the replica method as well as the Green’s function theory, we have investigated the relaxor and multiferroic behavior of CdCr2S4. The magnetization, the remanent polarization Pr and the real part of the dielectric function are studied theoretically as a function of temperature, with and without a magnetic field, respectively. The magnetization and the polarization exist together below the magnetic phase transition temperature. Pr decreases whereas increases and the peak shifts to smaller temperature values with increasing magnetic field h. Moreover, the temperature and electric field E dependence of the magnetization M is also discussed. A kink is observed around the ferroelectric transition temperature. The kink is deeper for stronger electric fields and anharmonic spin-phonon interactions.

Modeling of moisture loss kinetics and color changes in the surface of lemon slice during the combined infrared-vacuum drying

Color is one of the most important appearance attributes of food materials,since it influences consumer *** this study the effects of combined infrared-vacuum drying on the drying kinetics,moisture diffusivity,surface changes(shrinking)and color changes kinetics of lemon slices were *** the infrared lamp power and vacuum pressure influenced the drying time of lemon *** regression results showed that the quadratic model satisfactorily described the drying behavior of lemon slices with highest R value and lowest SE *** effective moisture diffusivity increased from 2.92×10^-10 and 1.58×10^-9m^2/s when the infrared lamp power was increased from 300 to *** colour parameters L^*(lightness),a^*(redness/greenness),b^*(yellowness/blueness),and DE(total colour difference)were used to estimate colour changes during drying.L^*,a^* and b^* values of dried lemon increased during *** rise in infrared power has a negative effect on the DE and with the increase of infrared radiation power it was *** kinetic models were used to fit the experimental data and the results revealed that the power model was the most suitable to describe the color change intensity(DE).

Adaptive Relaying Protocol for Decode and Forward Full-Duplex System over Rician Fading Channel: System Performance Analysis

In this paper, the system performance of a decode-and-forward(DF) full-duplex(FD) adaptive relaying network over the Rician fading environment is proposed, analyzed and demonstrated. In the first stage, the system is presented with the energy harvesting and information transmission processes. After that, the analytical expressions of the achievable throughput, the outage probability, and symbol error ratio(SER) were proposed, analyzed and demonstrated. Finally, the analytical results are also demonstrated by Monte-Carlo simulation in comparison with the closed-form expressions in the influence of the key system parameters. The results show that the analytical and simulated results match for all possible parameter values.

Relations of Uranium Enrichment and Carbonaceous Debris within the Daying Uranium Deposit, Northern Ordos Basin

Carbonaceous debris(CD)is widely distributed in the sandstone of the Daying Uranium Deposit,northern Ordos Basin,and coexists with uranium minerals,which provides a favorable case for studying their *** reflectance(VR),macerals,moisture,volatile matter,ash,total sulfur(S_t)and uranium concentration of CD within the sandstone were *** results show that VR ranges from 0.372%Ro to 0.510%Ro with an average value of 0.438%Ro,indicating that CD is in the stage of *** contents of vitrinite(V),inertinite(I)and minerals range from 83.18%–99.48%,0–7.70%,and 0.34%–15.72%,respectively,with the corresponding average value of 95.51%,1.34%,and 3.15%,respectively which indicates that V is the major *** on air dried basis(M_(ad)),volatile matter yield on dry,ash-free basis(V_(daf)),ash yield on dried basis(A_d)and S_t mostly range from 7.95%–16.09%,44.70%–66.54%,4.84%–26.24% and 0.24%–1.12%,respectively,while their average values are 12.43%,53.41%,16.57% and 0.77%,*** suggests that CD is of medium-high moisture,super-high volatile matter,low-medium ash and low *** concentration ranges from 29 ppm to 92 ppm with an average value of 50 ppm,and uranium concentration increases with the decreased distance to *** the whole,M_(ad )and V_(daf) decrease with increasing burial depth,which indicates that CD experienced the burial ***,M_(ad) and V_(daf) obviously decrease in uranium-rich areas whereas A_d and S_(t )noticeably *** studies suggest that there is a certain relationship between uranium enrichment and *** in the stage of lignite helps the adsorption of *** one hand,radioactivity uranium enrichment makes organic matter maturation increase with a decrease in moisture and volatile *** the other hand,an increase in organic matter maturation,caused by radioactivity uranium enrichment,results in an increase in uranium minerals,which is instructive in the study of regi

Blanc Reaction of Aromatic Compounds Catalyzed by Ionic Liquids

Ionic liquids have been used as catalysts for Blanc reaction of toluene. The effects of reaction temperature, reaction time and dosage of the ionic liquid catalyst have been investigated, and the catalytic performance of different ionic liquid catalysts for toluene chloromethylation was also studied. The reaction was found to proceed under mild conditions with excellent conversion （up to 90%） in the absence of Lewis acids. The ionic liquids could be recycled and reused without loss of their catalytic activities.

R&D Activities of Manufacturing Multinationals in China:Structure,Motivations and Regional Differences

This paper investigates the R＆D motivations of various multinationals operating in China, drawing on a large-scale, firm-level dataset of official Chinese statistics on science and technology activities. The present study shows that R＆D efforts in China have intensified for bothJbreign-owned and domestic firms, but less so for foreign-owned firms, perhaps because foreign-owned firms tend to operate on a foundation of technological capabilities developed within their home countries. Statistical analysis confirms that the major motivations for foreign R＆D in China are production-driven, not market-driven or technology-driven. Nevertheless, one sees significant variations in foreign R＆D strategies from region to region. Guangdong is characterized by production-driven R＆D. In Beijing, R＆D strategies tend to take a technology-driven approach, drawing on the clusters of scienl（fic institutions. Synthesis of waterborne polyurethane-humic acid cross-linked biomass porous materials for the adsorption of methylene blue

A series of adsorbent materials(WPU-HAx-y)with a three-dimensional porous structure,green sustainability,and excellent performance were prepared and evaluated for the removal of methylene blue using nontoxic and environmentally friendly waterborne polyurethane as the matrix material and humic acid,a biomass material,as the functional *** newly synthesized adsorbents were characterized by infrared spectroscopy,scanning electron microscopy,specific surface area,and *** effects of contact time(0-8 h),starting concentration(10-100 mg·L^(-1)),pH(3-11),solution temperature(30-60℃),and coexisting ions(Ca2+,Na+,K+,Mg2+)on the performance were ***-first-order,pseudo-second-order,elovich,and intra-particle diffusion models were used to analyze the adsorption kinetics;the Langmuir,Freundlich,Temkin,and Dubin-Radushkovich adsorption isotherms were evaluated;and the adsorption behavior of the adsorbent materials was found to be more appropriate for the pseudo-second-order model for chemical pollutant removal than the Langmuir model,which depends on monolayer ***-HA2-3 stood out with a maximum adsorption capacity of 813.0081 mg·g^(-1) fitted to the pseudo-second-order and 309.2832 mg·g^(-1) fitted to the Langmuir model,showing superior adsorption performance and regenerability.
