The peri-urban area possesses mixed characteristics of rural and urban areas,i.e.,agricultural,and built-up *** review explains various themes and concepts of peri-urban areas and the importance of peri-urban agriculture(PUA)as an ecosystem service(ES)for their surrounding *** methodological approach is a systematic literature search and explanatory review of books and journal *** focus of the discussion is as follows:(1)quantification of review results,(2)urbanization pressures,peri-urban,and governance,(3)two different concepts about the peri-urban area,(4)protection of PUA and their resilience,and(5)role of PUA in providing ESs to other *** review shows that PUA is more crucial in urban areas than in rural areas in terms of food supply,ecology and biodiversity preservation,disaster mitigation,and *** of the primary causes of PUA loss is massive urban expansion,which entails the conversion of agricultural land in peri-urban areas into built-up ***,we suggest that every country should develop a peri-urban management *** argue that sociocultural biases in PUA have resulted in many institutional constraints on peri-urban management being incorporated within existing political and regulatory frameworks,including planning practices and longstanding laws and regulations.

Due to the advanced development in the multimedia-on-demandtraffic in different forms of audio, video, and images, has extremely movedon the vision of the Internet of Things (IoT) from scalar to Internet ofMultimedia Things (IoMT). Since Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) generates a massive quantity of the multimedia data, it becomes a part of IoMT,which are commonly employed in diverse application areas, especially forcapturing remote sensing (RS) images. At the same time, the interpretationof the captured RS image also plays a crucial issue, which can be addressedby the multi-label classification and Computational Linguistics based imagecaptioning techniques. To achieve this, this paper presents an efficient lowcomplexity encoding technique with multi-label classification and image captioning for UAV based RS images. The presented model primarily involves thelow complexity encoder using the Neighborhood Correlation Sequence (NCS)with a burrows wheeler transform (BWT) technique called LCE-BWT forencoding the RS images captured by the UAV. The application of NCS greatlyreduces the computation complexity and requires fewer resources for imagetransmission. Secondly, deep learning (DL) based shallow convolutional neural network for RS image classification (SCNN-RSIC) technique is presentedto determine the multiple class labels of the RS image, shows the novelty ofthe work. Finally, the Computational Linguistics based Bidirectional EncoderRepresentations from Transformers (BERT) technique is applied for imagecaptioning, to provide a proficient textual description of the RS image. Theperformance of the presented technique is tested using the UCM dataset. Thesimulation outcome implied that the presented model has obtained effectivecompression performance, reconstructed image quality, classification results,and image captioning outcome.

City Digital Twins: their maturity level and differentiation from 3D city models

The emerging field of City Digital Twins has advanced in recent years with the help of digital infrastructure and technologies connected to the Internet of Things(IoT).However,the evolution of this field has been so fast that a gap has opened in relation to systematic reviews of the relevant literature and the maturation of City Digital Twins on an urban *** work bridges this gap by highlighting maturity in the *** conducted a systematic literature review with bibliometric and content analysis of 41 selected papers published in Web of Science and Scopus data-bases,covering five areas:data types and sources,case studies,applied technologies and methods,maturity spectrum,and *** on maturity indicators,the majority of the reviewed studies(90%)were at initial to medium stages of maturity(up to element 3),most of them focused on 3D modelling,monitoring and ***,digital twins cannot be limited to 3D models,monitoring and visualisation,for they can be developed to include two-directional interactions between humans and *** a high level of maturity,which was not found in the reviewed studies,requires advanced technologies and methods such as cloud computing,artificial intelligence,BIM and *** also found that further studies are essential if the field is to handle the complex urban challenges of multidisciplinary digital *** City Digital Twins extend by definition beyond mere 3D city modelling,some studies involving 3D city models still refer to their subjects as City Digital *** the research gaps we identified,we’d like to highlight the need for near-real-time data analytics algorithms,which could furnish City Digital Twins with big data *** opportunities include public participation capabilities to increase social collaboration,integrating BIM and GIS technologies and improving storage and computation infrastructure.

The village of Wengding,ancestral home of the Wa ethnic group,considered as China’s last primitive tribe,suf-fered near-complete extinction due to a fire incident in *** records indicate that stilt-style buildings,also in Wengding,are highly susceptible to ***,this has not hindered the long-term existence of these distinctive architectural *** study analyses the reasons for the sustained existence of the traditional building forms in Wengding,from the perspective of *** findings indicate that the requirements of the traditional nomadic civilization for rapid construction of dwellings,the communal consciousness toward dis-aster resistance,and the implementation of spatially oriented fire protection measures collectively account for the swift recovery and reconstruction observed in Wengding village after the *** aspects are tangible manifestations of the capacity of the village for ***,resilience is essential for the sustainability of such traditional villages in the long term.

The spatial transformations can be observed at different religious-historic towns of India due to urbanization. Research is based upon fact that there is substantial change in the built environment because of spatial transformations at the religious-historic towns. The process of modernization in the functions and spatial layout is unavoidable at any historic town. The study attempts to focus on various urban historic conservation components, including the look of historic buildings, their earlier uses, and its immediate surroundings to improve the built environment of historic towns. A theoretical framework for the urban conservation of ancient towns is the main objective of study. How to modernize the historic conservation function while preserving the space’s texture and integrity. The research started with the investigation of the morphological growth of Mathura district, India through satellite images and in-depth study of the evolution process of street network in Vrindavan town, which is one of the main temple towns of Mathura district. There is a significant difference in the layout & architectural character of old part and the newly developed Vrindavan. Due to increased accessibility and movement, the spatial structure of traditional religious precincts, which were once local integration centres, has significantly changed. Increasing & changing mode of transportation and further increase in the religious tourism might be the cause or a big reason for the spatial transformations and correspondingly there is a challenge to conserve & preserve the religious precincts of historic towns. The study tries to analyze spatial transformations with the help of Historical GIS at different scales of urban form. Suggestive measures to conserve the environmental ambience of religious-historic towns are the outcome of the research.

Social support is an essential source of support for preschool children’s fathers to alleviate parenting anxiety,deal with parenting pressure,improve parenting methods,and enhance parenting sense of *** capital serves as a critical psychological resource for preschoolers’fathers,helping them cope with parenting stress and enhancing parenting *** explore the mediating mechanism of psychological capital between social support and the parenting sense of competence of preschoolers’fathers,this study employs stratified sampling to survey 678 fathers from three cities of Henan province in *** survey instruments mainly consist of the Social Support Rating Scale,Psychological Capital Questionnaire,and Parenting Sense of Competence *** findings show that social support,psychological capital,and fathers’parenting sense of competence are at the middle *** positive correlations exist among social support,psychological capital,and parenting sense of *** support can positively predict fathers’parenting sense of competence,while psychological capital partially mediates between social support and parenting sense of ***,it is possible to increase social support for preschool children’s fathers and improve their psychological capital to relieve their parenting pressure,enhance their parenting participation,and strengthen their parenting sense of competence.

Natural ventilation and cooling have played an essential role in providing comfort *** are passive cooling systems and one of the most familiar elements in Iranian *** can significantly influence on reduce cooling loads and supply the necessary ventilation rate of *** paper aims at providing an in-depth review of the recent developments and applications of windcatchers in modern *** efficiency of windcatcher is also discussed according to the windcatcher’s relevant parameters,i.e.,height,configuration,and *** comprehensive review reveals that these factors have significant impacts on the performance of *** is also shown that a one-sided windcatcher is a better choice in regions with privileged wind ***,other types of it are better in regions with variable wind ***,windcatchers’potential for applying in the contemporary architecture and urban planning shown in the using windcatcher in contemporary buildings,windcatchers in the urban context,new designs,and new technologies of windcatchers sections.
